The first time I heard this song was during a one-off clip when SciFi channel was showcasing anime during a two night showing of the 'Galaxy Expeess 999' movie in '98. I wrote it off even after I got into Gundam around '03... then recently I rewatched all of SDF and was blown away. 'Macross 7' has a solid '90s anime vibe.
