      Absolutely, She's using this more like a drawing not like she should be practicing on a real person.

    What do you use to clean off the excess ink?? When iv done it apart from having to run the machine at 11volts cause the rubber is so hard i can never get all the excess ink off and its all smugged.

      I use a product that I buy on Amazon.com it's called "Green Soap" and is a concentrated soap. I put it in a spray bottle and dilute it with water and spray while I clean. When I'm done a spray it all over really well and rinse off under the sink. It doesn't really remove much of ink once I'm able to pack it into the fake skin.

    Do use the same liner for the the whole thing? Like when you Makin the lines more defined.. reason I ask is cause I see people swap out needles..

      Use a layer of vaseline before you tattoo, then rub more vaseline in to clean off the ink works like a charm

      I will try to post which needles I use in each video from now on. I had never thought of doing that until recently. In this video it was combinations of 3,5 RL's and 5,7 M1's.

    for your shading how many tone of black do you use, do you mix it with water ?

    • @ChristinaSmith
      @ChristinaSmith  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I try to have black, and at least one other cup for a water ink mixture. If you are working on people I've heard that witchhazel is best to dilute with. As I only work on fake skin my set up is not the way you'd want it set for working on someone.

    I think you have the same fake skin as me. Did u get it from amazon? Mine isn't great either, im looking into two brands atm. One is called Reel Skin and the other is called 'A Pound Of Flesh". They are both expensive though, however, they both do a discounted package of loads of their off-cuts which is cool. Thy also both do fulll body parts, however, I was thinking of getting a silicone mold kit and casting my own body parts out of silicone to practice on due to the fact the branded body parts are so expensive.....just a thought!

  • @wicksshaun
    @wicksshaun 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What are you using to whip the ink off the skin?

    • @ChristinaSmith
      @ChristinaSmith  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just use paper towels and then dilute Green Soap in a spray bottle. I spray and wipe as I work. I don't work on people so for practice this is okay. Green soap is the name of the soap not the color of it.

    • @wicksshaun
      @wicksshaun 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Christina Smith I am very late lol but thank you! Because thats been a problem I’ve been having. My ink smudges when I whip.. but all I need is the green soap. Thank you again

  • @SykesFW

    That practice skin isn't taking ink well at all, look up reel skin, I've seen a couple reviews and it looks good, I'm ordering myself a few to try

    • @ChristinaSmith
      @ChristinaSmith  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You are right the skin doesn't take the ink well at all. That's why you have to go over it so many times. I know that real skin acts differently and it will be a learning curve when I get to the point to be able to work on people.

    • @Aldertonartco

    what do you use to clean of the ink?

    • @ChristinaSmith
      @ChristinaSmith  7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      It's called Green Soap. It works very well, you can dilute it and put in a spray bottle and it goes a lone ways. It's the best thing I've found and it doesn't break down the silicon either.

    • @ChristinaSmith
      @ChristinaSmith  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've been buying a brand on Amazon called, ITATOO and PFT. They are pretty cheap and come in packages of at least 3 or more. They are pretty thin and it takes several passes to get ink to really stick in it.

    • @shire-lee
      @shire-lee 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Christina Smith would that be good practice really though? Don’t usually make more than one pass on real skin for line work right. Or am I wrong?

    • @ChristinaSmith
      @ChristinaSmith  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      With how much you have to go over the lines on the fake skin I'd say at least 6 hours. Maybe 8, since I work from home I take breaks several times so I'm not totally sure.

      I'm just a beginner and learning on my own so making the videos I have gotten some advice that's helped. And I know others are trying to self-learn as well cause its very hard to find an apprenticeship.
      I don't really have artwork to just give away but I sell some through tshirt designs like on Redbubble: www.redbubble.com/people/Rvaya/shop?asc=u
      I used to giveaway the weekly sketches I would make for my Patrons on Patreon but since I've focused on Tattooing on fake skin I need to keep these skins to put in my portfolio when I got to shops.
      Good luck with your tattooing as well! :)
