Music composed by Ali Keeler in collaboration with Al Firdaus Ensemble
The verses are from the Aljamiado poem 'Al Madha' from an original 16th century manuscript kept at the CSIC in Madrid
The Arabic poem is by the Egyptian poet Ahmad Shawqi
The Morisco manuscript was discovered by builders while restoring a house in the town of Almonacid de la Sierra near Zaragoza in the year 1884.
It was hidden inside a wall by a Morisco family when the edict was made by King Philip lll to expel the Moriscos from the Spanish peninsular in the year 1609.
The poem is in Aljamiado which is an old Castilian dialect written in the Arabic script.
For practical reasons the location of the incident was changed to Granada for the video clip. Similar manuscripts have been discovered in several different locations in Spain.

Andalucia was one of the provinces in the Umayyad caliphate and it has not got a connection with morocco as a government. I suppose this province was connected by Yusuf Tashfin to Morocco after collapsing Umayyad.
A beautiful video depicting the history of Muslims in Spain (Moors) tragically expunged by the conquest of Ferdinand and Isabella.
The expulsions was followed by efforts to sideline and erased the rich arts and cultural heritage of Moors.
What a beautiful honoring of our ancestors and their struggle to preserve this blessed path for us.
I knew a bit of the history of morisco and the situation they had to go through yet this beautiful presentation was just too much captivating. Couldn't stop my tear.
How much Muslims has to go through in the past and even today. May Allah place all our ancestors who has sacrificed for the sake of Deen Al Islam in the highest rank and place in Jannah.

En algun momento del siglo XVII cruzan a America. La gastronomia que heredo mi Madre me hizo investigar. Empeze mi conversion al Islam y mi deseo mas profundo Inshallah es visitar Granada. @@hoplite723 read a little more about history. Visigoths stablished in the iberian peninsula and the weakened Roman empire let them stablished there the same way a group of migrants would do. They melted with the roman society, that is why they converted to christianity and adopted latin as a language, they were roman citizens.
They never took it by violence and people there were never forced to pay taxes just because they belonged to a different religion.

Many of the Andalusians Muslims, maintained their Iman and Islam before their total expulsion by reciting the salutations (solawat alan Nabiy) and doing intercession (tawassul) during the recitation of the salutations. When you recite the Prophet PBUH name, your love towards him and your iman towards Allah will increase, Insha Allah. The text of Madih that was found is the proof of it. You will not go astray if 'Muhammad PBUH' is in you! Insha Allah!
