Love the fact that Cousins is getting the success he deserves at last. I knew when he was at Washington that he was better than the team's results suggested...
It was obvious to me that this dude can play QB. He was so accurate, as accurate as Peyton. And had a beautiful touch. And he could go through his progressions quickly and nearly always find the open receiver. The guy was definitely the best QB the team has had in easily 20 to 30 years. They pissed on him and the result was him getting the last laugh. It goes to show that if you are a principled standup guy, you will eventually win in the end.
Not just here ANYTIME I see interviews with him he seems like a chill intelligent guy who it's almost like he's so nice and humble I can see that somehow showing up early when he doesn't pull the trigger on some higher risk throws. Knock on wood end of game tho he's turned s corner... if can get the inside push held up or stunts where guys seem to always instantly come up the middle free some of them bombs gonna hit. ESPECIALLY how they used TJ perfect game 1 with him

I really want kirk to win a super bowl. Not just because I'm a vikings fan but he is just such a nice dude and genuinely is just a humble guy. He could leave us after this year and go to the damn packers and id still want him to win a super bowl.
I’m a chiefs fan and pretty neutral on most NFC teams, but I genuinely feel like Kirk has gotten quite a lot of hate over the years and I never really saw why. I think I became a fan of his after the “you like that” video surfaced and he really is a good dude on and off the field. It’s not necessarily an apples to apples comparison but I see a lot of Alex Smith in him personally. In that he may not be an athletic freak of nature but for the physical gifts he does have, he plays very efficiently and doesn’t make a lot of big mistakes. Captain Kirk fan for sure 🤝
@@Silentstorm174 he has made some big mistakes but not so much this year. When they fixed the bookend tackles and center issues and gave him some protection magically he doesn't make as many mistakes.

Although Cousins has said the "you like that" was directed to an NBC reporter, in actuality, that burst of emotions was directed at Bruce Allen and Daniel Snyder for making Kirk prove that he had to earn his contract extension. To me, the organization did a total disservice to the loyal fans by not supporting Kirk. He was willing to take less money to stay on the team prior to the franchise tag. Unfortunately, Snyder didn't want to do this even though he gave away millions to Deon, Haynesworth and incredibly long list of wash up veterans. Kirk seemed to be the only player they were super judgemental to. They could have easily traded him to the 49ers and reunite him with his coach and get good compensation if they truly believed he wasn't worth the money. They chose to spit on that offer. Once he was franchised, his price tag went up but the team wanted him to take a pay cut after they treated him with disdain. The skins, were unwilling to franchise tag him a third year, let him become a free agent for nothing. What world was Snyder living in then? It must be the world of investigations now. Cos he will be fighting investigations for a long time. All of his improprieties with Cheerleaders, female staff members, etc. will all be exposed. He's a man-child with no moral compass nor rationale on running a sports business. Forced to sell the franchise, he will be financially rewarded, but the stench, he has placed on this franchise and his family will never be lifted.
I agree with this assessment of the situation 100%. I don't have proof but I think a lot of the negative coverage Cousins had stemmed from Dan Snyder shenanigans with his media contacts in Washington... dude is the shadiest owner.
As a Washington Commies fan I Can't ever forgive him for that game ending pick vs the ny giants back ups in week 17 when if we had won we would have made the playoffs. Unforgivable. He would always crush the Jags and Browns but always lost in primetime and vs division rivals and pretty much anytime we really needed the win. He's a true .500 QB. Definitely not worthy of being the 6th highest paid NFL player of all time but good for him I guess. Seems like a nice enough guy but I'd rather take a risk on a draft pick QB than pay him $30mil a year to lose in the first round or miss the playoffs. As useless as our front office usually is I think letting him walk was the right call. He's decent but not worth what Minnesota pays him.
