I'm still typing this on a Aspire 5920G. It is my first laptop. I used it during my study and early work days (Architecture) for like 7+ years. I upgraded RAM on it, so it had 4GB. After a while, because of high temps it had, it started having issues with the GPU (I put the GPU in an oven a few times, to fix soldering issues - that was a lot of fun). After the GPU finally died, I ordered a "new" (used) GPU from Aliexpress (there are only like 2 compatible GPUs for this laptop). After that, the keyboard started to die on me, so I ordered a new one and changed it. It was a spanish version, which meant I had to buy stickers for the keys. Swapped the HDD for a SSD to make it run faster. Now my parents use it for checking e-mail and internet. All in all, a very quirky laptop, but a great one nonetheless. Man, this video really brought the memories back, thanks:)
This was my first laptop. I absolutely loved it. It was so heavy and bulky but run perfectly. The ports was also awesome, I could use it with all my devices. Would definitely buy this again.
the pc obivously died but i backed up the hard drive because it probally had useful information for my grandfather since he used these for his buisness
That keyboard is a genuine mystery - random retrobrite? Different keycap suppliers at Acer? Seems like if you had to replace that many caps, you'd just replace the keyboard. Great job as usual Chris, I think it's awesome that you can recycle and donate...
I have this laptop and the keys are all the same color grey. Those keys looks like they've been stained yellow or something? It's weird, but they aren't supposed to look like that.
I have one of those. Can't get it to open windows 10 but did get it to open Tiny 10 Which is win10 debloated. Tiny 10 either has a virus or is really buggy. I did install Linux Minr XFCE 21.3 on it but found google didn't stay synced except if I use the flatpak version. Now everythings working fine can't game on it though lol

i have one of these, i disassembled one of these and i wish modern laptops were that easy to disassemble

You'll need a camera app. If you load windows 10 the native camera app should work fine

Must be? It didn't smell but maybe the previous user was a smoker or used a lot of hand cream or something and it stained the most used keys
