And I thought I am making my website fast by using firebase functions and amp...
Thanks for showing that there is so much more.
Great talk! Is there an associated blog article or github repo with code samples so I don't have to scrub through the video to pull out the relevant bits?
Did you find anything?
Love this PURGE-Thing
This was my favorite talk at IO this year.
I'm still sorting out how to implement this technique. It's super tricky. But my next app is going to use some version of this.
Were you able to do it?
@@shashwataditya6685 I never got it figured out :(
@@ChrisEsplin Thanks Chris! I am looking to try it over a weekend. Do you remember what the major blocker was?
@@shashwataditya6685 The call to break the cache is undocumented, so that'll be the trickiest part.
@@ChristopherEsplin Thanks, will look into it. Will share in case I have any success :)
Great talk. Almost implemented this method for my new app, only trouble is the PURGE function you mention at point 33:19. Is this function still working? You mention it was an experimental feature?
One of the best talks from I/O 2018. Kudos.
that is ok
I love how this site is put together!!! Sweet! @Michael Bleigh any updates in 2019 related to fast pages using Firebase and AMP?
I wish all this was part of some standard tooling for all static websites. similar to the CLI q&a you fill in when developing a modern web app.
Basically, this session deals about server cache on firebase functions ?
(caching being mandatory in that case, because amp code has to be transformed in real html)
Any idea when purge will be available?
What about optimizing when you are using a SPA like Angular and need SSR?
Any chance of seeing full code for an example project?
The demo in this talk is up at github.com/mbleigh/escapable-amp (rough code, but it works!)
Thank you, I am very excited about your talk. Want to learn more. Can you please point out where to learn more. your blog? some article?
@@michaelbleigh8737 Thanks a bunch Michael. I am working through the examples.
