Agreed, CorviKid. Three Wishes was godlike, but it was missing that bit of chaos that made S3's songs so recognizable. This adds that back into the mix. I know it's AI extended, but I like to think of that in a different context in Splatoon's case: Smollusk was asked to artificially lengthen it by Marina, and he gladly did so (because Marina asked it nicely).
Honestly, I just think it's better because it feels more like something you'd hear as a big theme to pump you up at a concert, not just a sad theme that is still really good, but not as hype. It's like comparing Patience and Welcome To The Jungle at a Guns N' Roses concert. One hypes everyone up, the other calms everyone down. Plus, this ABSOLUTELY SLAPS. The references are amazing, and really add an extra cherry on top for the remix. This matches the vibe from We're So Back, Tomorrow's Nostalgia Today, or Anarchy Rainbow, whereas Three Wishes tries to be like Into The Light, Daybreaker Anthem, or Maritime Memory. However, Three Wishes is still AMAZING. The track itself manages to include everyone really well, and give extra spotlight to the OGs right at the end. The lyrics are also still amazing (Except for the parts where Marina simps for Pearl. That aspect is blatantly overused in S3, and I believe that turning Marina (a round character with many aspects to her personality, one being an affection for Squid Shady, another being the ability to absolutely roast her into oblivion until the devs removed it) into a flat character who just simps for Pearl and talks about excavators is a crime. Another example of a character with missed potential is Acht. She could have had an intricately woven personality based on her sanitization and the trauma she suffered afterwards, but we just got an emotionless third wheel instead. The problem isn't the topic, it's how overused the same topic is. Honestly, Splatoon 2 had peak writing, inserted more nautical puns, and didn't just make the characters one-dimensional, but gave them much-needed depth that is partially not present in S3.) despite the flaws that the series has had recently with writing, perfectly conveying how each set of characters feels. And yet, Suno, KoKo, and Chips N' Dip still make a better version. Honestly, the BEST reality would be where we got a song as hype as this with the amazing lyrical details and length of Three Wishes. TL;DR, This is hype, Three Wishes is not, and that is my reasoning. Also TEAM FUTURE FOR THE WIN!
