She broke out of the gate too quick. If you noticed there was a rope tied in front. She broke it before the calf did giving her a 10 second penalty. I believe that’s what it was anyway.

There must be a way to ensure that the competitors get to deal with the same animal only once/twice.I’m thinking having the amount of riders the same as the amount of bulls,for e.g. in bull riding,a rider can’t ride a bull he has ridden in the same contest & rerides must happen on the same day.The contest can be at different venues at different times.If you agree,pls,inform the rodeo folks of my idea.

Hey there! I'm new to Rodeo and just watched 2022 American rodeo. I want to know why Kelsie got 10 penalty seconds while competing Jackie Crawford?

She broke out of the gate too quick. If you noticed there was a rope tied in front. She broke it before the calf did giving her a 10 second penalty. I believe that’s what it was anyway.

Those massive animals survive brutal fights with each other in the wild. They can survive bone shattering kicks easily and walk away from them. A 190-200 pound man with tiny little spurs on is not going to cause that much damage to a 1200-1500 pound animal.
