- Spotting at Washington Dulles International Airport
Washington Dulles International Airport
Chantilly, Virginia
Friday May 20, 2011
This video covers operations using Runway 1C and 30 at Washington Dulles International Airport, filmed between 5:50 and 8:20 PM that evening. There's quite a few United-Continental schemes featured here along with a bevy of international carriers as well as heavy aircraft, mainly the 777 and 747 being featured more than others.
If you are interested in purchasing DVDs of specific aircraft and/or of airshows, interested in anything and everything related to airshows (where the jet teams will show up, all airshow performers, airshow reports from airshows I have attended, previews of airshows I will be attending, etc.), a much more easier to navigate "version" of all of my videos, and/or everything there is related to aviation - including spotting guides to my favorite airports and military bases and aircraft factfiles, please take the time to check out Steve's Airshow World at www.stevesairsh... .
I just got a big bowl of cereal sat down and watched the entire video from start to end and now this is my favorite video on TH-cam because of the great balance of different aircraft types and the great filming and sound!
Thanks from another IAD spotter , nice work , I like that vantage point on level 5
I flew on that Aer Lingus a330 aircraft. It departed from Madrid Spain. :)
at 3:07 in the backround there is a el al 767.
love the atc at the beginning. "we're sitting here burning" "ya, if you look to your left there's a lot of guys, if you look to your right there's a lot of guys" hahaha
EXCELLENT video! Great videography all the way around. Thumbs up!
wow...you did a great job there, nearly wrapped up everything going in and out of Dulles..I trying to think what's missing...if anything!
Great long video, fantastic job. Keep this video's coming!!!
How come there is an elal 767?
Absolutely incredible video! It seems as if there's one of everything with a nice excess of 777s, liked:)
I live right under the IAD approach close to route 7 and see all these carriers come & go all day long. Can't admire this video enough...great job! whats the spot and also what camera are you using. Great work. @ starboard I agree captured nearly all the big names that visit IAD. pity couldn't see Qatar's 77W in this one but i guess it comes late afternoon and leaves well after its dark
God I loved the Rising Blue livery. and the Battleship livery. All the United liveries before they thought they were Continental 2.0
this is taken on the top of the parking deck at Dulles airport. Great spotting location.
fantastic videao - great job !!
at 7.50 the white aircraft with grey - is this a private acft ? Airbus A330 ?
@trigman2000 It arrived and departed when I wasn't there...like I said it was acting as a VIP aircraft
the A330 at 00:14, was that the French President's plane? Also I read that the Luftwaffe brings in C-160s daily, and RAF brings in C-130s. you know why?
@airshowfansh ahhh..... was it the plane with the three black stripes or that one gray stripe
hey did you see Aerosur's 767-300 "Sharko" land? it would be amazing if you film it!! its an amazing plane
Where are you? (like spotting wise) Because that's a really nice location.
gotta love the sound of hi-bypass turbofans
someone should get the Star Alliance SAS 340 at IAD again sometime.
I've noticed about half a Dozen Heavy's taking off. such as 767, 777. 787;s
where were you that is such a great spot?
when does the el al 767 come?
where did you film this? i want to do some spotting and i would like to know what spots are the best :) great video!
did you guys catch that c-130j rocking on the landing?
A very Beautiful place
32:50 i thought three engine planes were prohibited in the U.S.? like dc10 and md11
Wow this A330 and B744 have long wait.
@tjs468 agreed if I didn't have to go to school this is what I would do 24/7 love the new color scheme for united airlines
Gotta love Mega Bank!
18:41 why is that airplane in reverse thrust on a taxiway ???
I absolutely despised that UAL livery... So glad they went to the Continental design.
I think most people feel the opposite! I know I do.
at 40:33 there is a indianaplos colts plane.
@Geminijets215 Maybe it had a emegerency landing. I didnt see eany of those take off in the whole video.

that austrian 767 with wing;ets goes there and back everyday i have seen it too many times.
The BA 744 had nice turbofans!

Why was the C130 at Dulles?
Ok I don’t know why el al airlines is at Dulles

air force one lands and takes off from Joint Base Andrews
Thumbs up for Airtrains Colts Airplane. GO COLTS.
23:05 Colgan Air!
Where is this spot you're at? I'm a local spotter and have been using the parking garages.
Paul Belisle I'm thinking the same question!

If you are a true aviator. you must watch the whole thing

Battleship Greys baby
I came for the C-130.

@USARMz I think the Prime Minister of Israel was visiting the White House at the time? If not, then definitely some dignitaries...
so much traffic
Also, three different United Liveries in 1 video.. No wonder they are bankrupt.
dc
Qatar Amiri Flight
Am I the only one who thinks that it's a little ironic that the South African airways plane at 14:30 is completely white... (This comment was just a little racist)
