    You can see in that earthquake animation that more quakes are moving towards Mauna Loa.

    Correct me if I am wrong 🤔🤔🤔
    .... With the side walls & ceiling cave ins @ the
    Main Crater....
    .... is this not contributing to sealing this section off & in doing so isn't this "with holding" pressure @ the main vent causing the maga to seek out other areas to relieve this build up of pressure due to the collapsing walls that are helping seal off & create a greater pressure Build Up @ the main crater???
    ... I other words the 20+ fissures that have spread out & opened up have branched out due to the cave in closures @ the main vent that is sealing off the main crater & pushing magma outwards in near horizontal veins & causing the spewing fissures all around the main crater.....
    .... & if this is the correct perspective????
    .... Should there be a lull in the underground magma activity.... 🤔
    .... The slowing down of magma flow & decreased pressure will allow these fissures to cool & SEAL themselves off as well....
    The entire scenario will have appeared to come to a stand still as the vents & numerous fissures SEAL themselves off....
    I am @ the assumption that these various fissures thru out the system that are a release of pressure where the main crater is sealing itself off & creating these fissures are the REASON that there has NOT been a MAJOR explosion @ the MAIN CRATER???🤔🤔🤔🤔
    Sorry if I am repeating myself but I want to clarify my point.... in short:
    ~ IF THERE IS A LULL IN UNDERGROUND MAGMA ACTIVITY & THE 20+ FISSURES COOL DOWN & SEAL THEMSELVES OFF...
    .... @ THAT POINT, AFTER THE COOLING & THE LULL IN ACTIVITY.....
    SHOULD THE
    MAGMA SUDDENLY BECOME ACTIVE AGAIN & CREATE AN ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF PRESSURE THAT CANNOT BE RELEASED THRU THE NOW SEALED OFF FISSURES....
    ..... & THIS INCREASE IN PRESSURE IS NOW LOCALIZED @ THE MAIN CRATER & VENT...
    .... 🤔🤔🤔 IS THIS NOT THE COMBINATION & FORMULA THAT COULD POSSIBLY LEAD UP TO....
    ... A MAJOR EXPLOSION OF THE
    MAIN CRATER BECAUSE ALL THE MAGMA HAS NOW BEEN CHOKED BACK FROM WHAT WAS THE ACTIVE FISSURES CREATING A MASSIVE BUILD UP OF PRESSURE....
    THAT NOW HAS NO PLACE TO ESCAPE
    EXCEPT THROUGH A MAJOR EXPLOSION & ERUPTION OF
    THE MAIN CRATER ITSELF!!!!
    ..... yes???.... no???
    Thanks for your REPLY 😊😊😊

    Note the collapse is based on the evacuated magma. That doesn't mean increased pressure.

    You must assume that it's going to blow in a big way. Although it may not explode, it's giving us every indication that it is building pressure and will explode so they should be fully ready right now for the worst.

    Holy crap guys that 5.5 magnitude volcanic eruption was so strong that they felt it in Honolulu and it was also felt on the long period seismographs for the Montana area near Yellowstone. Pretty crazy how a volcanic eruption that did not produce a large plume up to 30,000 feet was able to be felt all the way to Montana and that area. I believe that is completely unprecedented and do not understand how volcanic eruptions could even act that way.

    • @Islandgirl58

      Ben Ferraiuolo Yellowstone is due to erupt. I didnt feel the quake on Oahu today.

    • @BenFerraiuolo
      @BenFerraiuolo 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shari Mariko Kawamoto-Oganeku yes I personally believe yellowstone will erupt in the next 50 years max. And really? Some actually did I believe. If you goto usgs earthquake site and look at the most recent listed volcanic eruption (5.5 magnitude) and click on the link and click the "did you feel it" map, it seems some people felt it in Honolulu. Which is pretty crazy since the actual eruption vs. height was not extreme (25,000 ft and above is pretty bad). God bless!

  • @cratedog64

    The earthquakes may be the ground settling down underground, filling in holes and passageways where lava flowed, and once it slows or stops flowing, along with the pressure from underground, could end up being a huge explosion AND landslide, and if the earthquake pattern is any indication of the amount of land that slides, it could create one huge tsunami, which will be devastating. This is just my uneducated opinion, no need for any hate folks.

      A strong eruptive phase (paroxysm) occurred at the volcano yesterday (Sun 3 June). Lasting for about 16-17 hours until the evening, it generated ash clouds reaching up to 10 km, which drifted into westerly directions for more than 40 km, lava flows descending on the flanks, heavy ash fall in nearby areas and secondary mud flows triggered by strong rainfall.
      Sadly, massive pyroclastic flows - fast-moving turbulent avalanches of gas and hot rock material - have claimed lives as well. Precise numbers are so far unclear, but may be in the range of dozens if not more, depending on varying local sources and estimates. From official side, at least 7 victims have been confirmed.

      @onlyrandomness 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @TyphoonVstrom

      The rift zone and Hilna slump are directly related. The rift zone marks the point that all land mass to the ocean side of it is SLOWLY subsiding away from the island, hence the term rift. It's how volcanoes work.
      The spreading rate hasn't changed, this is a very shallow event, the rift zone is much larger than the small fissure area.

    Fuego Volcano just erupted. What's going on this year?

    • @spencereng
      @spencereng 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know, it just seems like major eruptions have been going on this year. Lots of major activity for some reason. For example, even in Yellowstone... "The world's largest active geyser has erupted three times in the past two months at Yellowstone National Park, leaving scientists puzzled by the sudden and relatively frequent explosions."

    • @spencereng
      @spencereng 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All I was implying was it's been an abnormally active year for both earthquakes and eruptions. It's a notable year with abnormal activity. This is not a normal year. "Yellowstone National Park's Steamboat Geyser just erupted for the sixth time this year, and scientists aren't sure why. It doesn't erupt very often, but when it does, it is the tallest active geyser in the world."

    • @TyphoonVstrom

    I think its an ominous sign that Kilauea has become quiet. The eruptions are starting to migrate to Mauna Loa, although few in number at the present. Its now thought that the 2 are connected and act as pressure release valves for each other! Perhaps Mauna Loa will be the next to awaken!

    • @JR-yq9qi
      @JR-yq9qi 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TheRange--No dumbass, no professional geophysicist has EVER said anything like that. The two are not linked, they have their own separate magma chambers, and Kilauea hasn't become quiet, there has been 500+ earthquakes at the summit in the last 24 hours due to the subsidence of the Kilauea caldera and the collapses of the Hale'mau'mau crater floor. There has been less plume vented from the summit because the overlook crater is partially blocked from collapsed debris. If Kilauea is quiet, how do you explain the fissure eruption in the LER zone? Clown.

      Don't ask something like how deep those earthquakes are the one that we should pay attention. What we know that there is something that filling the chamber right now, and what is that? Is that the same kind of lava or the one that have more solid material in it. If it the solid one, that volcanoes are preparing for major eruption for sure, maybe a blast.

      John Matlick--Show us the proof that it has collapsed 'many times in the past'. Look at any subsurface map of the area jackass, there has NEVER been a huge, catastrophic collapse. Minor slides? Yes. World destroying tsunamis? No.

    • @SolidStateLabs
      @SolidStateLabs 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Da Braddah I did look, and the off shore subsurface maps clearly show shelving....Take 3 pancakes as they come from the griddle, overlap them and you will, get a glimpse of what is happening. The weight of the undersea magma compresses and pushes the offshore shelving down....everyone from the caldera to the sea is at risk .

    • @JR-yq9qi
      @JR-yq9qi 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      John Matlick--There have, historically, been NO large collapses from the south flank or the mythical 'Hilina Pali' as all the fear mongers love to say. Small slides, yes. Huge, Pacific wide tsunami generating collapses, no. Your statement that undersea magma pushing the shelving down is crap--undersea magma would INFLATE the area above it. The south flank slides due to gravity and the unstable base of rubble the whole south flank is built upon.

      Clare Butterfield--Before you open your mouth and join the throngs of stupid people making uniformed and misleading comments, look at any subsurface map of the southeast coast of the Big Island-there has NEVER been a huge catastrophic collapse of that area-despite what these internet fearmongering asshats would lead you to believe. In the geologic past , there have been relatively small slides but NO massive collapses in that area. There has, however, been massive, catastrophic collapses on the Kona side from the western flank of Mauna Loa-that's the area people need to be concerned with, and yet no one talks about it. Look at any subsurface map and you'll see the debris field.

    • @RicoLen1
      @RicoLen1 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's not true at all Robert, Tsunamis, the worst come from asteroid impacts, following that, they come from landslides, after that then earthquakes, and then explosions, and finally wind.
      Clare, just... no. Everyone is acting like Hawaii is going to blow it's top like it's Mt. St. Helens, but the lava just isn't conducive to such eruptions, and it's so easily oozed from the earth that it won't happen.
      Da Braddah, the other islands were just as big as the big island, they didn't reduce in size by way of explosive volcanism either, though, you're right about that part. They got smaller by way of a simple process of erosion. The ocean, the rains, they washed the islands away down to the size they are now, and in time the same thing will happen to the big island as a new big island appears.

      I would be more worried that those quakes seem to be running along a certain line. Add to that the fact that all that lava is coming up and now adding weight on an area that is cracking and slumping. If this was happening at an excavation on my job site, i would be getting ready for a collapse. There, the resulting Tsunami would be devastating.
