I think Quinn is saying that someone who could be the best just isn't even playing because it isn't worth the trouble. Like someone who has the protentional to be the best just doesn't care because of the annoyances.
Yeah... I'm definitely not that kid, but I'm relatively new to pvp and I have to say; I really considered if this is the grind I want to do after spending a few days mostly losing, but with even more time spent trying to find groups/people.
It's the only coherent argument. At the same time, potential is a vastly overrated metric. I think back on the big mathematicians throughout history, most of them say that they were at their level because they invested the time and that there were people who were better.
Yeah Potential newcomers wont ever grow to that level of competition because they cannot put in the hours to get at that level. and the top is getting better and better cuz they can put the actual play time IN THE arena, not waiting to get a group.
yeah thats just untrue, if you're naturally the best player in the world theres no chance you're gonna be hardstuck lowrank even with crappy teams. this is a really dumb fantastical idea that makes no sense at all LOL
Also you gotta remember as well that it's not just "Finding a healer and a mage", its oh, you messed up once, they leave group, you gotta restart from zero, find a new team, and continually do that.
But there's major obstacles just like he said - every "Pugging my way up" series that was successful was done as a TH-cam series without streaming it, and even then they _still_ got the odd sniper and they were playing *PvE* - if Pika did that for arena, he would have to make a new toon that couldn't be streamed for the entire duration of the series and that doesn't even take into account the whole issue with his voice. If he _did_ make it to glad, the world gets *a lot* smaller from then on and the odds of someone recognising him rise to 100%. Even with some kind of voice changer, his mannerisms and style of calling will still get him rumbled, and when you randomly get in an arena with a guy who's just 1v2ing all your games and using a voice changer it's not gonna take you long to put 2 and 2 together.... one reddit post later and now Pika's gotta change his toon's name again... It's something I would love to see too, but in order to do it right it would be a massive undertaking and no doubt it would interfere with his streaming.
@@graysaltine6035 kinda the issue with the very small playerbase that PvP has, especially at a higher rating. You get to 2500 or something and 1v2-ing and calling like Pika, it's gonna be obvious to the 10 people in that bracket ( I say 10 as a hyperbole ) that something is fishy.
My partner quit wow in tbc when we got 1.8k. I quit after my friends quit one by one, I kept coming back & quiting. LFG reminds me the times during the recession where you'd apply for any job, to even wash toilets & 100 more people were applying with phds for the same thing. Rejection after rejection. You play a game to enjoy it but rejection after rejection where no patience & they expect wins/skill like a mcdonalds meal or fortnite game... it is sad. I made few friends on LFG that had patience & we learnt together but it's hard to gather courage to whisper "do you want to go again?". It's different when you had a team or friends where'd you do all sorts of stuff in wow together, now it feels no real connection... just a stranger that might be a nice person.
get in voice. It does makes a difference, at least if you both have right attitude where you play to practice, learn and get better instead of immediate result and fast ratings then eventually it could grow into something more. Not 100% chance tho, but it is how it is. And yes it is harder to do so now where we are boomers :D
@@kristoferkravis1474 Oh I'm positive that good players can carry games and get to 2k+ for sure, I think it'd make for good content and also kind of open the complainer's eyes a little bit and make them realize they need to improve. I know I've got a long way to go where arenas are concerned, but I also never complain about being stuck in rating or LFG. I look inward first 😄
It's a real problem with turds climbing to 2.1k in RBGs that are an average player just holding the 1600mmr gate one shotting people with their 226 gear lmao
@@Scumba yeah I think most of them honestly do gear via the rbg system which is fine - I do think that solo queue only being implemented into rbgs to start could at least help that process while further incentivizing RBGs as a whole
Yeah pika was absolutely biased and unfair in this video. His ego definitely showed here. Hes a great pro player. That apparently doesnt give a fuck about the regular players.
@kS fp what the fuck is this psychobabble? Dude, solo queue is a terrible idea in the context of an MMO. Solo queue being a thing would require players to swap specs, gear, and even classes at a whim in the same way League of Legends players play different champs in different scenarios. People stop being Mages or Rogues and become Caster players, or Melee players, or Healers, etc... Then that would mean Blizzard has to allow people to hop from 1 toon to the next whenever they want while they queue in SoloQ and matchup against their opponent. If it worked like that, it would actually be incredibly cool. However, it wont. What people are asking for is to queue randomly with other random people in comps that may or may not work, or comps they may or may not like, which often degenerate into people just smashing their faces into each other and zugging the closest thing down. Horrible idea. People need to stop propagating this garbage. LFG sucks, it should be changed, SoloQ is not even remotely a good solution. In fact, SoloQ would be the only possible thing worse than the current LFG.
@@bos7522 no at all why do you think so?2v2 solo que with healer/dps and ddps bracket on top of classic brackets wont hurt anyone and people could easily gear without spending their life in lfg tool. Ofc it would be unbalanced like its unbalamced now....look at ladder how many mw monks are here is it balanced? lol no.....atleast in solo que you can play the game not sure why you elitist dont wish something for others and thinking only about your self. Its not like these casuals will be missig at 2400 bracket lol ....it will raise people playing ranked 3v3 imo not reduce
@@matous2542 Because it will collapse in less than a month, that's why we don't wish this for others. First of all, separating Healer/dps from Double dps and making them their own brackets is a huge mistake. That's absolutely ridiculous. Some double dps comps excel at playing against healer/dps but suck at playing against other double dps. It doesn't simply fall on them being unbalanced. Firstly yes, they will be a huge amount more unbalanced than they already are, and crowds of people will complain about it and beg for nerfs and buffs left and right. So suddenly, Blizzard now has to balance the game for RBGs, 3v3, 2v2, soloq hdps, soloq ddps, PvE, and World PvP, while trying to keep everyone happy. They already suck at doing that right now, imagine how much worse it'll be when you make that garbage. There already is such a thing as SoloQ in WoW, it's called "Arena Skirmish". Just take a look at this quality content you're getting in skirmishes where games end in the first 12 seconds of the game, even when u get a 3v3 skirmish. You're talking like that right now, but at the end of the day, I'm 100% sure you'll forget all about SoloQ in a month after it has been put in place. And you'll use the excuse that Blizzard abandoned it and they didn't balance it properly and you're getting matchmade with noobs or classes that don't make sense with your own etc... I'm sure there's a solution for your problems out there somewhere, but SoloQ is the laziest and worst idea to replace LFG. I promise you that's true.
@kS fp Again, you're acting like SoloQ is the solution this game desperately needs to become good again. I brought up League because Stoopz gave the example of other PvP games and mentioned LoL by name, so did Pika. To clarify, I'm not against LFG being incinerated and something else built to replace it. But SoloQ is not the right move. It makes no sense in the context of an MMO. What class do you play bro? Figure you play Rogue. Your class can only ever be good with like 2 specs in the game right now. Randoming anything in SoloQ would mean you're always at a disadvantage when you face Fire mage or WW monk or Arms warrior which work exceptionally well with anything. Do you understand where I'm coming from? You say SoloQ will keep you subbing, I call bullsh*t on that. The ol' classic "you think you do, but you dont". You'll play SoloQ for a month tops, for me it might be like a day, etc.. then we'll all give up on it because it just doesn't make sense unless you're able to swap classes on a whim, have relevant gear on all those classes, being able to queue into a role rather than a class/spec, etc... Everyone is just screaming at Blizzard "WE WANT SOLOQUEUE", and no one has even bothered to give a proper idea of how it would work. If I, someone who has nothing to do with developing the game, can shut down the soloqueue idea all by myself, I'm sure devs have already figured out a billion other reasons why it wouldn't work. You just want this "thoughtful gesture" from Blizzard like hey, give us what we want. What I see in that is a lazy excuse that Blizzard can use to shut people up for another couple of expansions. They'll give u SoloQ and it'll suck, and then they'll abandon it and LFG altogether and we'll be left there with two systems that are terrible and also clash with each other. It's the same as standardizing stats in PvP and PvP Scaling. People kept begging for it althroughout WoD and when Blizz gave it to us we hated it.
@kS fp Do I have to be Pika to agree with the fact that SoloQ is a bad idea? What bothers me isn't people wanting SoloQ, it's the tried and true nature of Blizzard being reluctant to give people what they think they want, then it turning out to be complete and utter garbage and us having to deal with it for 2 expansions. Again, I brought up the example of Stat templates and PvP scaling. It won't break the game any more than LFG is breaking the game. The problem arises when people become divided, some playing SoloQ and some playing LFG, making queue times even longer and longer for both. Especially since one of them is clearly imbalanced and couldn't possibly be balanced for WoW. If people asked for Skirmish being a bit more rewarding, maybe Blizz will give it to them. You already get a tiny bit of conquest and honour from Skirmishes if I'm not mistaken. But people are asking for a ranked ladder SoloQ build inspired from MOBA and Shooter games which honestly just doesn't work. You play Rsham and you're having to sit for 2 hours in queue to find someone to play with? You can't expect me to believe that. Meanwhile people wanting to play Rogues can only ever play with Mages due to the nature of their class and how the meta is shaping up. SoloQ will only serve to further alienate classes and specs, rather than bring them together. You're excited for SoloQ because as a healer, you don't mind playing with anyone, meanwhile there's 4-5 other classes that just never get to play the game that way. SoloQ is a bad idea. I hope they put it in the game just so I can come back here and tell you "I told you so" when there's people crying about it within a week of its release.
LFG is literally a toxic cesspool of people who insta-leave after 1 loss regardless. Games with actual soloQ make it so much easier to say "just go next" in without getting demoralized. WoW is literally an hour between groups just to have to settle for a shitty healer who throws lul.
@@Nunyahbidniss they're is definitely examples of both throwing all the time and in dps 2s I always get that I was just tryna throw in example of settling after waiting in q my guy
The worst is when you join “chill” games. I’ve joined some where my teammate fucked up horribly. Have had a Pally that didn’t trinket or bubble and just die in a stun even while I have one of the enemies stunned. Then immediately left. People don’t know what chill games means. And seem completely unself aware that they’re not very good. Has a Pally quit on me last season at 2100 blaming losses on me when it wasn’t my fault. Found another Pally and immediately climbed to 2400. It’s just a complete shot show.

Agreed, and I keep throwing these bitches bones and it keeps my rating suppressed.. I'm down to play with some noobs and help them out but it's so hindering to my own progress
Agreed, I feel like the current system only works for the hardcore players, we need a system that brings more new players to arenas and is less work for them, otherwise we won’t grow the arena community. I have played arenas for many years and I can’t imagine how intimidating and frustrating it is for new players to try and jump into arenas.
Cdew has more followers on twitch and has been playing competitively longer than Pika, Reckful is the biggest pvp streamer to ever grace wow's presence (rip), chance started with wow pvp and is now doing variety but still more popular, mitch jones whenever he streams has 10k+ viewers and only streams pvp.. @@ero9685 lfg is already ruining it you idiot, soloque is just a better alternative, it's not end all be all but it's just better. At least you'll be able to play arena. He's clueless cus he got lucky and started playing with good people prrtty muxh right off the bat, he never had to climb the ladder alone he doesn't know the struggle. The fact that he's been at the top for so long makes him oblivious of the fact that some people just don't get the chance to learn, the game is different from when he first started. And I said that he's half wrong, ofc you'll prove over time if you keep practicing and trying to improve, the point of the original video and stoopz's point was that those who have the potential will not even bother considering how much downtime the lfg aspect of arena has. I know that cuz I experienced both. I too started playing seriously back in cata and got good cus people did give me chance cuz we were playing on a battle group based arena settings and there wasn't crossrealm as there ia now, and there was no such abundance of educational material out there on the internet. You had to play to improve and so did everyone who took it any seriously. Now if l try to start with an undergeared character with 0cr and 0achievements good people will not give a chance cuz they'll think it's not worth their time. It doesnt matter that I have way more experience unless I can carry which is not the case for my main classes. You can't carry with a healer. But you can carry with a mage or a rogue so he thinks you'll face no pfoblem you're "good enough". Which is a missed mark.
I've played mmos for 20+ years now, wow for 15+ years (on and off), all my old xp is irrelevant. Coming back to Shadowlands, I put 12+ hours a day into the game, I have several alts fully geared and ready to rock. I can easily carry games and get to 2.1k on some of them. Others require more intricate playstyle that it's hard to do with LFG partners, so it's a lot of hassle and frustration to climb, so I stopped playing those alts. My issue is that I know that I am in no shape, without investing even many more months to compete with (relevant) R1 players, but I believe with the amount of effort I put into learning about the current state of WoW, mastering my specs, game awareness and all of the above, I do have potential to get to Glad S1 - but I don't see it happening. Why? Because there's nobody to play with, LFG is like a russian roulette. I found a handful of people who are willing to play together and learn, but only when I play my paladin, hehe. And even then, those people are not able to be online all the time like I am. So 90% of the time, im sitting bored trying to find a LFG team that's actually going to play and not instaquit after 1st loss to counter-comp... It's frustrating, because even when you want, you are unable to progress at a reasonable space. Nor will you get any hands-on experience/practice on several characters because you simply grind it out! So what I do? I just keep rolling alts out of boredom, bring them to 1.8k or 2.1k and then work on other characters, because anything above 2.1k on EU is filled with glad players and chances are finding LFG teammate to compete with them is slim.
Honestly, any changes from what we have is something that I would like to see. Personally, the pugging scene was so awful for me that I would take a awful system to see some changes in the current.
if you guys are wondering LFG is literally the same for 1200 players and 2300 players. When i was 1600 rating it took forever to pug someone when i was 1800 it took forever to pug someone when i was 2k it took forever to pug someone when I hit 2200 it was still hard to pug and now im 2300 and it is STILL HARD AS FUCK TO FIND PPL TO PLAY WITH. The biggest issue in my opinion are 2 things. The amount of 3k players doing boosts or grinding alts in lower brackets make it harder for players who clearly arent that good to push. And the other thing is that everyone is a fuckin "META BITCH" all i see are Hpal/Mage/X Hpal/Meleecleave, Hpal/Castercleave. If your class doesnt fit into this comp then good luck finding a partner ESPECIALLY at higher rating.
Ppl that play 1 hour a day probably dont Expect to get glad, but they should be alowed to actually play more then 20 minutes og those 60. Instead of waiting in lfg for someone to sign up to their group or to get accepted
Speaking on your point at roughly 8:20, I've been dying to see an experienced arena player climb on a fresh alt from 0 to glad with no achievements/xp to link much like Preach's Fresh Account series.
What if like they added a preferred comp select section to the que? Like after you select your role, theres a dropdown where you can check which comps you want to que for. You could also opt in for voice coms or not. Idk it def wouldn't fix everything, probably really long ques, but you could always browse lfg while your in the que. Idk.
Lol this is a pretty amazing vid. That look you gave when the "you just have to grind out honor" statement was hilarious. Sad thing is that everything Stoopz and what you stated was so accurate. I rerolled a new toon for Shadowlands (Priest) and hada Warlock try 2's withme. Now to be honest I had not done arena since MoP and had quite a bit in BC so there is a learning curve to say the least but the Lock gave up after 24 games we were 10-14 but started beating 5 of the teams we faced before many times. Despite this the higher rated teams I ran across in Oribos messaged me or saluted me and still do today. Grouping is defintely a social issue by far and many players do not want work/learn and develope. Yeah Lock has not improved at all.
I know what he means, my warrior and disc are 2700 and 2300 but my main is a marksman hunter and its almost impossible to find groups for it because no one wants my class, so I am forced to play my alts.
@Bob Smith I'm playing jungle at 2.4 rn, cupid is no where as good as jungle, but hardly anyone plays feral. It took 20 hours of sitting in lfg with my priest friend to find a feral who was at least 2.2cr
Pika I see a youtube series here. Make alt rogue stream gearing it through mythic plus and raiding. Then at 200+ ilvl off stream change race ame and do LFG your way up with complete pugs. Spread it out over a few episodes and give us an honest review. Obviously use a voice changer too. Ed you must convince him 😅.
One thing that i think works well when making these style of react videos taken from a stream session, include the live twitch chat feed. You're talking to and interacting with chat in the video, so lets include the chat overlay
The problem is trying to find consistent people to play with, I'm aware I'm stuck around 1800, but it's hard to find guys that are willing to sit around 1800 while we learn and climb. Everyone wants the immediate gratification and isn't willing to work and play as a team. It isn't "hitting X rating with this group". It's trying to hit X with a whole new group of randoms and new comps the next day
Ive played WoW arena since BC with the same group of RL friends the whole time and during that time I, myself, have played the most consistently whilst other friends have come in and out of the scene throughout the years and the biggest thing I have to get across to them to understand is that you have to queue a lot to get better. The amount of times ive queued with buddies and they get frustrated after 10 games and quit - blaming their class, spec etc., - meanwhile it’s just because they havn’t put the time in the improve and expect instant results and that WoW PvP, especially rated arena, is extremely competitive, it’s a 2-way sport and nobody wins every game.
I think that soloqueue RBGs would help people gear for arenas on their own merits (as opposed to getting carried), which is a good thing. I think stoopz's LFG idea is brilliant, and could even be incorporated into a future soloqueue system. When you queue, you click your class, your spec, and what specs you want to play with. That would mitigate the bad comps problem a lot. Further, as a hotfix to the current game I think that when players achieve a rating breakpoint (1.4, 1.6, 1.8, etc) their MMR should only be able to tank 1-200 points below that breakpoint for the season. This would mitigate a lot of the problems we see with boosting (If a duelist wants to sell carries, life would be a lot better if the lowest-rated people they were queueing into were rivals).
the problem about climbing through current LFG system that Stoops's saying is that: U'll only get as good (or at least good as a gladiator) if u spend 5 hours/ day only TRYING to q. Thats the point.
Main problem is gearing and time. I get to play MAYBE 5-6 hours a week give or take. I'm 2400xp, I can't get passed 2k this season cus of the meta, and I don't have time to practice / gear, especially any alts for the current meta. Even if I did have time, If I'm stuck at let's say 1600 in 2's and I fight nothing but Duelist+ geared legit meta comps, it makes it that much harder to do anything. I've been playing WoW since Classic in 2005 and this is my least favorite expansion so far.
as someone who came from league of legends & went from 1600-2.4k in a matter of few weeks, just start your own groups. be picky about people and check winrate/xp, but don't let it be the end all be all. its definitely hard to find good people; when you do, keep them around and use them as you climb brackets on your alts. some people have ceilings sooner than later, be self reflective and dont be afraid to lose.
This really is the answer. The people who get declined on a 1600 to 1800 climb are the same people who A) decline people between 1400-1600 or B) don’t want to make a group themselves. Also amount of people that want competitive levels without using voice is staggering to me. Climbing was the easiest thing when I started to make voice req groups myself. Sometimes you take a chance on someone and they fail you; replace and go on.
what you said at 3 minutes in made you so lovable for some reason LoL. "I play wow every day of my life and I can't gear a character, but I'm a moron". wisdom consists in knowing we don't know !
When I PvP'd in GW2, they had a system where you could switch characters in the starting room to adjust to your team's comp. Idk if this is something that might be worth considering, but I think it could potentially fix the comp issue. Granted, GW2 pvp didn't require you to earn gear, they had specific pvp gear that you just put on and swapped based on the build you wanted that you just got for free. So idk, could work could be awful.
It’s simple for solo ques. Make it like lfr, give 2 healers a team, a stealth, a tank, Give the person a personal rating for the spec and have options to only opt in for mic, and current mmr and one season prior mmr
Great video the LFG tinder aspect is good but most people would only select a meta class leaving people who arent the meta class in the dust for a majority of the time.
Imo it’s amazing seeing old gladiator mounts that players use, or old elite sets they got back in the day, but I don’t see them as all that impressive unless they actually got gladiator every expansion from TBC to current, which is extremely rare. They don’t have to be every season but most of them maybe or some every expansion nonstop.
What he doesnt understand is the people that are not try hard like him are far more common and keep revenue coming , if the casuals leave then the game will fade and all that will be left is the tryhards
but in pvp u can play with other people with low rating (if they invite you OR join your group.. big if lol) but in pve if u dont have the fkn rio that everyone get boosted to 1.5k with guilds then the premade group system for a lonely player like me is impossible. pvp is still better than trash ass pve where idiot tryhards only look for rio when rio in itself is a fake busted ass metric...
@@mcroyale_lover Play a - b tier class in PvP and you'll never get invite even on 2k+ raiting. Lack of balance changes is bad for the game, but blizz can afford not giving a damn, since they are monopolyst in theme park MMO genre.
Honestly players like pika can’t and shouldn’t talk about “being here before” you were looking for partners in a different universe compared to now. 5, 6 years ago when 99.9% of players didn’t have this shitty attitude and sense of dread over wasting time. You don’t get what it’s like as a normal player who is actually not brain dead to spend 75% more time in lfg than actually playing the game. This type of system keeps players like pika at the top, all the pros playing together, consistently getting better. And new players literally don’t even get to practice the game without WASTING time looking for players that every other game has automated by now. Wow is a shit show for pvp and it’s almost made to just make you feel like ur better than other people once you find your first 2.2k+ consistent partner. And then you’re up there going “wowoahahahah I’ve been there before!” Shits lame. Make changes if you have the power, stop just sitting and chilling cuz once pvp is done in this game so are pro careers. Wow pvp is a gem, just sucks to see people give no fucks and they’re prominent members in the community. H8 on it
What a biased opinion from a rogue that was barely Duelist during WOTLK... when the population was at its peak and r1 actually meant you were the top team. Healers are everything in order to climb as a dps, now more so than ever. You won't be carrying nowadays in 3s as a dps if your healer just isn't on the same level. Finding GOOD/consistent healers is what has changed, and a lot of healers only queue with a tiny group of people. Not to mention all of the mmr huggers that won't queue with you if your mmr isn't very near or way higher than theirs so they can leech. All you current r1s essentially just trade mmr to each other and have made a niche, elitist group. I know for sure you would not "climb" to Gladiator on a brand new rogue through LFG. Unless of course you just piggy backed on wizk and others mmr after a certain point. Most importantly, the culture has changed drastically; People want instant gratification now and think they are the best, which means they usually will not be open to criticism or learning as a team if they just met you. You will be blamed, and they will leave. Even if it was just one loss and not your fault.
Idk pika i believe u wefe a bit biased in this. Ur a God at wow. Cant expect everyone to have ur same mentality, time, mechanics, gear or point of view. Ur right u have to play to be better, geg gear etc... the point if the video is that YOU CANT PLAY THE FUCKING GAME BECAUSE NOBODY TAKES YOU.
For those of you wanting to see an experienced player climb through LFG only on a fresh account check out Warroidxyz. He is doing exactly that right now
gearing is the hardest part of arena 100%.. specially with so many one shot classes.. but really i just need to play rbgs to gear but get the red wall of declines.
As someone who has glad achievements from back in the day, nothing makes me feel worse than people who tell me they're worthless when they say link achieves; they literally don't update, and despite the fact that I managed to climb to 2600 during legion I can't prove that with my glad achieve from S4 when achievements first came out. Still would like to get a consistent team of nerds to climb again, honestly wish there was some sort of website where you could add people to play with you... hmmm...
The difference between pve and pvp is the gear difference in pvp. Raider io score will climb with dungeons ran, if you fail a key it sucks, but just requeue. I’m in the process of doing rn as an outlaw rogue grinding ksm. Pvp this late in the expac is filled with trash players that were carried to glad, got the gear and the subsequent dmg and hp boost, and are actually now appropriately mmr scaled. As someone without full 226/233 but is relatively skilled on rogue pvp, it’s so disheartening to lose a match that you won on skill but lost on gear. Back in classic you didn’t have such a variation in gear, what would be mythic raiders were the speed runners geared the same as people who need the full week to clear the current raid tier. I’m ok with some slight variation in pvp gearing but 26-33 ilvl difference is such a large difference that is so incredibly impactful on the outcome of a pvp match. I don’t see a balanced pvp in the current retail situation where gear matters this much and I don’t think it’s fair to remove the content from the players that want to push themselves harder, so I think scaling of some sort is needed in pvp as a fix for the gear disparity.
The thing with him trying it is he already has the experience and skill from 100,000+ matches. The point of it is that there are people who may be like him but can't even play do to not finding a group. They queue trying to learn the skills pika has from his games. Even if they tried they'd spend more time in LFG and playing. They'd struggle to see 100 games a week. At that rate they would need 11 years to reach just the arena time of pika on just one toon. Im sure Pika started somewhere. The issue is the next pika might never get close because he says **** it after 2 weeks of no groups.
the rbg soloque would be very different than arena rating wise . . . but it'd be useful for gear . . . . atm if you don't do rbg's or arena's in ranked you can't get pvp gear past 197 (not to mention, you don't get nearly enough honor to get a 197 set anytime this century. . even with winning rate. just the 177-184 upgrade is 2-3 wins. or like 9 losses. and that's for 1 piece, which goes up even more the higher you go . . . to the point a 197 upgrade takes 4-5+ wins . . . which if you carry well and have say 50% winrate. might take a few hours for not even close to standard ilvl. longer if you don't win much, like they get a semi-premade in random bg unrated. lfg on the other hand. you really can be waiting 30+ for just 1 healer much less all 3 of them. if you aren't a meta dps you won't be taken unless you make it yourself. Simple matter is, you wait so long for healers, you get your pick of the litter out of dps from the abundance of them. . . . who wants to heal an rbg through 4-6 bursty classes that can just turn it on and 1 shot someone in an instant if you aren't closely paying attention to everyone, while also getting trained by the enemy team. ... like how are you going to stop a melee from being nuked out when they step 3 feet forward by double boomkin convokes, multiple combustion mages, etc. not many defensives will save you from that level of focus.. .. healers life in rbg's is kind of hell lol. . . . like i can win random bg's on flag maps just by sapping a healer, the rest of the team ignores and goes on. and then i proceed to nuke the healer when they're alone. or 2-3 stay around just to keep him alive for a moment, and we win the numbers advantage as a result.
So wanting to collect the 1800 sets from pvp, currently working to 1800 on a enhance sham, what classes do people recommend for the armor type? Current line up I'm thinking is Ret Pally, Destro Windwalker
Also, that'd be a pretty cool experiment for you Pikaboo. Make a new account and see how long it takes for you to get gladiator or higher without any achievements or listed experience like you said.
Just hit 2k in rbgs, this issue is even more noticeable there since it's 10 people. One loss, boom group disbanded. Then if your win streaking enjoy the brick wall of cr boosters and premades where they've known each other for years. XP is only important when low cr. Also an issue with how rating works is that you start at 1600mmr before you play, so if you lose early with bad teammates you can get stuck hard.
I think the point Quin was making Pika is Not that there is a player who could be pro because he is insanely talented at the current moment, But that exact player will never find his potential in wow because he is never able to play enough or find decent group to play with due to the current lfg system in wow. You can’t grow a tree without sunlight basically
"If I had FULL gear, I think I could climb the ladder. But if you don't have full gear, it's kind of fried.' And that statement is made while playing meta class/meta comp and having your skill (literal pro) against rando's with day jobs and shit. lol. Imagine having to actually grind. And I mean REALLY grind. Start a new account - No 50 person friends list. No gold for carry's. No streamer perks. Just grinding BG's til full 197ilvl gear God knows you won't get accepted into a yolo or 2's game with 175ilvl and no achievements. Then spend days/weeks praying for someone to take a chance on you at 197ilvl. Then after getting your chance, you have to hope it isn't squashed by a convoke boomie or a ret paladin with 225 ilvl 1 shotting kids at 1200cr. (Right now, the largest slice of the ladder in 2v2 is in the 1200-1250 bracket. It represents 10%+ of the ladder.) All that grind in 2v2 or yolo's (if someone would even take you - and trust me, they won't) would be to get that 3 ilvl upgrade in your vault each week. Some day, in an almost laughable far out future, your goal would be to breaking 1400 in 2v2 to go to 207 gear (which you'll have to grind more honor for) and then 1600 to get another small upgrade again...which will STILL net you 15-20 less ilvl than the people you're facing at 1550 rating. You're literally going to have 28k health against people with 40k. Imagine playing THAT WoW...and not the one you are now. I'd LOVE to see that grind.
A lot of people are misunderstanding Quinn's point including pikaboo mostly due to wording, His point doesn't just apply to "the best player in the world" it applies to any level of player, and any role dps/healer. There are so many people that have potential to get above average rating that get cucked by the LFG system, Possibly being a healer that just can't carry most games, or even dps spec that can't 1v2 casually and the last factor being gear requirements for this expansion specifically.
8:40 Yeah, that is a large part of the point, the statement there was "If I had full gear..." To get gear you need rating, to get rating you need gear. What is the solution to this?
New side project for Pika! Take a fresh 60 of his choice and grind up to 2400 through pugging and not using any of his contacts. I know he can do it, it just would be an interesting project.
This is 110% true. I didn't even have a 2.2k achievement. I played with friends all the time. This season I went out in LFG found 2 guys and we pushed 2.7k and got glad together in the span of 10 days. I always thought that I was a trashcan. If anyone's curious my paladin's name is Fotmhpally. Proudly sitting at 880~ on the ladder my first Glad season!
4:50 How to fix this, is by disabling the linking of achievements. Achievements already should be something to show what you have achieved and not so much something to show off, as most achievements already aren't things you need to link or show off. Some though, such as exp or aotc or things like that, help allow the community to have a toxic landscape. Without the chance to link them (also disallowing looking up others achievements) everyone would be on an equal playing field, and your actual skill level, and relationships built within the game would actually dictate you finding groups.
Guess what he was saying is many players get stuck at 2200rating cuz sudenly they lose their team mates and its just a pain to get new members to play with you. In other words, theirs so many good players with great potential to get to rank1 that quit pushing tthis super high rating because it's just a pain to get through the ladder. I really beleive Wow should have a similar system to league where you have are forced to level up one character to max level and farm gear but after that you would be able to unlock instant max level champions by trading something that you achieve ingame (similar to league where you trade riot points to buy the new champ you want to play). With this system everyone will havea at least 1character that they will use only for pvp. Also, you will now be able to easily create viable comps with your IRL friends to play some wow. How many of us dont play with our IRL because their classes are not good enough to make a viable pvp comp?
Part of what Pika is saying is true IF you're playing the meta classes cuz there are people out there who want to give you a chance. But, when no one gives you a chance cuz of your class or spec, I can see how frustrating that can be.
Imo RBG's could be 100 times the spectator sport that arenas are. It would draw a much more general audience since it wouldn't require people to understand all the intricacies going on between individual players and can take more of a big picture approach.
Had two accounts in league. Both taken serious for solo queue. On one I had ~60% wr and climbed to diamond 2 below 100 games. The other one had 500+ games plat 4, 48% wr. You will not climb even if you are the differianting factor. It takes a shit ton of luck, too. Still, I was able to play the game, whereas in WoW first I have to afk in Oribos for half an hour to see the game for (usually) 1-3 arenas and the cycle starts all over.
Pugging my way to KSM was an awful experience on my rogue, just because the ratio of trying to get into pugs vs time spent in keys was 3:1. Now that I'm over 1400 IO it's FAR easier getting into keys.
The Answer isn't Solo Queue or anything else, the answer is simple and it's something everyone resists. Just make the gearing alot easier and more time efficient, and there needs to be a template put in place when it comes to classes as far as damage/healing/etc. Not everyone is a savant and can manage 20+ keybinds efficiently. Hell my pinkie finger doesn't even have full mobility and I can't even hit my CTRL modifier smoothly while maintaining my finger next to it on the keybinds it needs to be on. There's too many keybinds to manage. This game needs to be trimmed up.
That would actually be a good side idea for pika. Gear up a alt rogue but not stream / post it until he has a time lapse video of the process of leveling/gearing the lfg.
Quinn is on point, and it’s true for everything in life unfortunately or not. The best is not necessarily the one in the frontline with all his achievements, degrees, medallions etc. maybe it’s the guy who has the biggest potential but never got the chance to show the talent they have because of the barriers that discouraged them.
This is exactly why I quit early in BFA, got 2550 cr @2.7k mmr in 3s and then the guys I had been playing with got the glad mount without me when I was at 20~ wins. They stopped playing after that and I was stuck unable to find anyone to play with. I literally spent weeks looking for people and ended up cancelling my sub still around 2.5k cr because I would be in LFG all day every day unable to do anything else in the game. Never got the mount or the achievement and it's a huge feelsbadman for me to this day. I actually had both a horde and ally toon over 2.4k and wasn't able to complete the wins for the mount on both of either of them because I was sitting in LFG for 8hrs a day lmao.
The problem is finding someone at your skill level to play with while I’m 2200 XP on hpal rdruid and rsham. I tried to learn dk cause I’ve never played a dps and I’ve just given up because I cannot find anyone to Q with consistently to get practice in. I’ve felt like I’ve been forced into bad habits because of all the different skill levels I’ve been qing with it’s super frustrating.
That guy be me. I couldn't find a main till two months in the game.
Now I'm just collecting Mog and gold making😂😂
Yeah Potential newcomers wont ever grow to that level of competition because they cannot put in the hours to get at that level. and the top is getting better and better cuz they can put the actual play time IN THE arena, not waiting to get a group.
yeah thats just untrue, if you're naturally the best player in the world theres no chance you're gonna be hardstuck lowrank even with crappy teams. this is a really dumb fantastical idea that makes no sense at all LOL
I want to see "Pikaboo gets to Glad through LFG" vid. PLEASE.
And do it on BM hunter.
Someone else is doing this too. Would love to see pika do the same challenge. Check out Warriord
Also no benefits from being streamer and no sending stuff from other chars.
wouldn't that take like the whole expansion? I don't have time to watch a two year video
YES. THIS. He doesn't realize just how hard it is.
Also you gotta remember as well that it's not just "Finding a healer and a mage", its oh, you messed up once, they leave group, you gotta restart from zero, find a new team, and continually do that.
I think you should start a series where you gear an alt rogue and go under cover and try climb through LFG
Warroid is actually doing or if toi ré intéressés in War gameplay

@@graysaltine6035 Preach did it in PvE on his Warlock in Legion i think. I think he did it offstream and just put videos on TH-cam.

Put your money where your mouth is Pika! New rogue, start with standard 197 covenant gear and pvp trinkets upgraded to 197 then climb through lfg

"He doesn't agree so he is wrong"
@@peWpew-yh4er well he is wrong lmao
Stoopzz video is incredible , I hope even more people react to it
@kS fp what the fuck is this psychobabble?
Yeah once you do find someone, it may be for one game then the process continues

And I said that he's half wrong, ofc you'll prove over time if you keep practicing and trying to improve, the point of the original video and stoopz's point was that those who have the potential will not even bother considering how much downtime the lfg aspect of arena has.
I know that cuz I experienced both.
''how do you expect to climb when you dont play the game'' yeah how are they gonna play it if they dont have teammates?
Solo q would be amazing for a wow I've been saying this for years as well
Honestly, any changes from what we have is something that I would like to see.
Instead of waiting in lfg for someone to sign up to their group or to get accepted
they can use skirmishes, and at there ilvl they have no reason to be caring about rating really
@@ajjabajja9155 skirmishes and rates are two very different things, let’s not be dense here
Speaking on your point at roughly 8:20, I've been dying to see an experienced arena player climb on a fresh alt from 0 to glad with no achievements/xp to link much like Preach's Fresh Account series.
he's not going to do that) not that type of person
And with a non meta class and spec :)
Me, in awe of Pika's expertise:
Pika: But, I am a moron
I feel like Pikaboo is majorly in denial in this video.
What if like they added a preferred comp select section to the que? Like after you select your role, theres a dropdown where you can check which comps you want to que for. You could also opt in for voice coms or not. Idk it def wouldn't fix everything, probably really long ques, but you could always browse lfg while your in the que. Idk.
It may could turn again to class discrimination, so the problem wouldnt be totally solved either
Grouping is defintely a social issue by far and many players do not want
work/learn and develope. Yeah Lock has not improved at all.
8:08 All the points pika makes after this: you wouldn't even get there because you dont find teammates .
@@hotpotato3311 Not true man. lol
@@MacDaddyTapp nah its very true
I know what he means, my warrior and disc are 2700 and 2300 but my main is a marksman hunter and its almost impossible to find groups for it because no one wants my class, so I am forced to play my alts.
@Bob Smith I'm playing jungle at 2.4 rn, cupid is no where as good as jungle, but hardly anyone plays feral. It took 20 hours of sitting in lfg with my priest friend to find a feral who was at least 2.2cr
Pika I see a youtube series here. Make alt rogue stream gearing it through mythic plus and raiding. Then at 200+ ilvl off stream change race
ame and do LFG your way up with complete pugs. Spread it out over a few episodes and give us an honest review. Obviously use a voice changer too. Ed you must convince him 😅.
This will be interesting to watch
One thing that i think works well when making these style of react videos taken from a stream session, include the live twitch chat feed. You're talking to and interacting with chat in the video, so lets include the chat overlay
i love pikaboo but in this bracket he has no knowledge,
what do u mean? every one starts from 0 cr, just because he did it a few years ago, doesnt mean you dont have to do it as well
GO UNDERCOVER AS A ROGUE AND DO LFG! MAKE IT A SERIES! Like so he can see this
I'm watching this after his Zero to Hero, kinda great seeing some of the backstory.
@@Moonunitz lol I've watched his zero to hero and i had totally forgotten about this comment.
It's trying to hit X with a whole new group of randoms and new comps the next day
This is man, this is!!! Nothing more true than this!
90% of lfg smurfs are to heavy to carry no matter how good you are
the problem about climbing through current LFG system that Stoops's saying is that: U'll only get as good (or at least good as a gladiator) if u spend 5 hours/ day only TRYING to q. Thats the point.
You wont climb in WoW until you will find the one or 2 persons you can climb 2s,3s with - sad but true. It's not an 1v1 game
the video : wow
youtube : League of legend
LMFAO when he tabbed out and he was standing in mop... that was hilarious
Out of curiosity, what comp did you climb on.
what you said at 3 minutes in made you so lovable for some reason LoL.
Pika you should do a new character and class, on a new account, and see how it feels for a new player to climb. no achievements and such.
It’s simple for solo ques. Make it like lfr, give 2 healers a team, a stealth, a tank,
Give the person a personal rating for the spec and have options to only opt in for mic, and current mmr and one season prior mmr
Great video the LFG tinder aspect is good but most people would only select a meta class leaving people who arent the meta class in the dust for a majority of the time.
Naesam, a raider in BDGG, has a youtube series where he climbs io in m+ through LFG. very similar to what pika talks about around 8:30
I spit my drink out at "upload a picture" during the wow tinder part
What he doesnt understand is the people that are not try hard like him are far more common and keep revenue coming , if the casuals leave then the game will fade and all that will be left is the tryhards
"if you dont have RIO score, they dont invite you" Buddy, same thing in pvp, low rating = no invite :D
but in pvp u can play with other people with low rating (if they invite you OR join your group.. big if lol) but in pve if u dont have the fkn rio that everyone get boosted to 1.5k with guilds then the premade group system for a lonely player like me is impossible. pvp is still better than trash ass pve where idiot tryhards only look for rio when rio in itself is a fake busted ass metric...
@@mcroyale_lover Play a - b tier class in PvP and you'll never get invite even on 2k+ raiting. Lack of balance changes is bad for the game, but blizz can afford not giving a damn, since they are monopolyst in theme park MMO genre.
from 7:00, i think thats a nice experiment pika, would be awesome to see you try this. 2.4k + is the goal!
8:42 .. yea IF you have full gear , a lot of ppl are stuck in the 1.4-1.5k with 200ilvl facing ppl with 215+ ilvl and get destroyed .
He is doing exactly that right now
gearing is the hardest part of arena 100%.. specially with so many one shot classes.. but really i just need to play rbgs to gear but get the red wall of declines.
do pve dummy
The tender approach makes a lot of sense.
7:08 Kalvish is a perfect example he gets the right team and hes doing awc now
"Thats a person problem im not tryna fix that" lmaoo
As someone who has glad achievements from back in the day, nothing makes me feel worse than people who tell me they're worthless when they say link achieves; they literally don't update, and despite the fact that I managed to climb to 2600 during legion I can't prove that with my glad achieve from S4 when achievements first came out. Still would like to get a consistent team of nerds to climb again, honestly wish there was some sort of website where you could add people to play with you... hmmm...
Depends on the class. Mages/rogues can carry but being a healer you reply on the team to CC and kill but a healer can only do so much
The difference between pve and pvp is the gear difference in pvp.
"I'm 6 claws in, ima go outlaw"
I think the point Quin was making Pika is
Not that there is a player who could be pro because he is insanely talented at the current moment,
But that exact player will never find his potential in wow because he is never able to play enough or find decent group to play with due to the current lfg system in wow.
You can’t grow a tree without sunlight basically
"If I had FULL gear, I think I could climb the ladder. But if you don't have full gear, it's kind of fried.'
And that statement is made while playing meta class/meta comp and having your skill (literal pro) against rando's with day jobs and shit. lol.
Imagine having to actually grind. And I mean REALLY grind.
Start a new account - No 50 person friends list. No gold for carry's. No streamer perks. Just grinding BG's til full 197ilvl gear
God knows you won't get accepted into a yolo or 2's game with 175ilvl and no achievements. It represents 10%+ of the ladder.)
All that grind in 2v2 or yolo's (if someone would even take you - and trust me, they won't) would be to get that 3 ilvl upgrade in your vault each week.
I believe voice chat is a huge factor. Especially for the climb.
New side project for Pika! Take a fresh 60 of his choice and grind up to 2400 through pugging and not using any of his contacts. I know he can do it, it just would be an interesting project.
I challenge you PIKA to claim thru the LFG system in arena fresh char or something. Maybe a TH-cam serie? Lets gooooo
That'd be an interesting challenge. Get a new account. Start from scratch and climb. Hide your toon's name or something and test it
The Answer isn't Solo Queue or anything else, the answer is simple and it's something everyone resists.
Rogue can do it maybe. Try get r1 destru with lfg ppl, without them knowing who u are. U wont get there I promise u
