      @@ilovfood In modern society, there is something called the bystander effect, meaning, if there is a large group of people watching someone being attacked or even dying, they assume someone else will jump in and do something, so they just watch and do nothing. Cell phone recording has taken this form of insanity to a whole new level, "devolution" of human consciousness. You are right, it's more than sad, it's horrific. Lucky for him, his friends and the patrols were not these kind of people, they did everything they could, and it worked. Many times, it doesn't.

If I tried that, I’d be another body medical personnel had to deal with. Bystander effect is real, I’ve seen it in action with situations I’ve had to respond to. People can still be helpful in emergency situations, just not as a rescuer. Keeping rubberneckers and people will cellphones at bay, for example.

I’ve been certified in emergency aid (not a first responder, but how to react and help in a situation), so protocol has been drilled into my head. I haven’t had any rescues as intense as the one in this video. Surprisingly, they’re a bit uncommon.

      No, it was just a set of totally natural circumstances that happened to coincide. Imaginary friends don’t exist. Magic isn’t real. There is only the natural world, and there is only good evidence of the natural world. There is not a single shred of good evidence for anything other than the natural world. It’s time to stop believing in primitive fairy tales and superstitions that are so foolish and silly that young children regularly see through them.

      @@Iris-fp4uk I don't understand your argument. @well possibly was leaving these kinds of responses on at least 5 different comments that I saw - one or two is mere curiosity and 5 or more becomes trolling.
      Why do you, or anyone, believe that they are entitled to anything, whether it be God's protection or anything else? The fact is that God does not owe anyone anything. Human beings are to blame here - don't blame Him. I don't believe God has the power to simply end all suffering - and if he did what would you have him do just zap out ALL evil from the world? He would kill us ALL off because we are all sinners in one way or another... you don't get to choose which sinners get to stay.. The fact is our suffering is a direct result of our own actions. Sometimes we suffer for the actions of other human beings, yes. And we do believe that sometimes He does intervene, yes. However, I think this is done for a much larger purpose than what can be explained here. I think there are many legitimate reasons for the existence of suffering, such as being a catalyst for growth and development. How can one grow and learn to be compassionate without witnessing or experiencing the opposite? Eastern philosophies and religions understand this - as ying and yang. Again, why some people think we are entitled to pick and choose is beyond me. It does not make some atrocities RIGHT - but do not blame GOD - blame MAN. Okay?

    • @erikadelgado206
      @erikadelgado206 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just didn't realize that religion was supposed to be some kind of protection from evil and suffering. I always understood religion to be a guiding source to understanding ourselves, the world, and the experience of suffering. It is a framework with which we can develop as human beings to our fullest potential and highest good.
