I like the security of a site plus the facilities. My minimum is electric hookup, shower and toilets. I tried wild camping in my van a couple of times but I could never settle at nights for a proper sleep. I always worried that an angry farmer would be banging on my van at 5am telling be to get off his land! 😂
I’m with you Col as a 76year old woman I like the security and companionship that you get on a campsite. I’m loving your campsite reviews as I get to see what they are like before I get there. Thank you 👋👋👋
Really nice of you to let you stay on the site - Nice photos of the falls and drone footage. One for the list as we keep running out of time t go to Aysgarth area - thanks for sharing as firmly added it to the list. If it helps make you feel better, we paid £61 / night in the lakes for a pitch Thursday-Saturday 😀. You’re also giving back to the local community staying in campsites don’t forget 🙌 all the best, David & Rachel 👍 oh and happy Easter weekend 🐣
Hi Col lower falls i find best, an easy gap down through the rocks at the very end gets you right on top of it, you didn’t quite walk far enough. Another great vlog though mate, awesome 👌👍
Hey Colin I love your vlogs and photography. I must say I’m not a photographer by any means but I much prefer the waterfall shots without the filter. IMO the filter makes the photos look fake and I like au natural. That said, beautiful shots, great blog. Niiiice 😊
Ah thanks so much, thats super kind... You are right, it can be marmite with that kind of photograph, I like both ways (depending on the location). Stay awesome... :)
Hey buddy, yeah I still have the Olympus, its a fantastic camera. I mainly use it for hiking if the weather is bad as I am not as precious about it as I am my Sony Cameras that I use for work. As the weather was nice I thought I would grab one of my wedding cameras and use that instead. The camera in this video is the Sony A7iii
Great video again - hilarious outtakes. Some lovely photos, I especially like the one of the falls where the different water colours are so clear. Love your campsite tours but tbh, that is too much money for me personally. I usually prefer basic small CLs but with hook up. Mainly to do with our 3 dogs 🙄. Wishing you and all the family a happy Easter.
Ah thanks so much, you are right though, I have stayed at lots of campsites that have been way cheaper than this with a LOT more to offer. Being closed could have been a factor though, I would like to revisit when its open to see if they add anything like a cafe van or pizza oven etc.. Happy Easter to you guys too, have a fab time
If you enjoy waterfall photography you should try low force, and high force in Teesdale. You will get some epic waterfall shots there in the right moment. This time of year given the higher water is usually quite decent.
Ah thats awesome thanks matey, I shall add that one to the list. Although I am calming the campsite tours down for a little while now and throwing a few "wild camps" DIY vids and day trips with the family just to mix it up a bit :) Stay awesome matey
@@Yorkshirepoptopadventures I will look forward to seeing what you add to the mix,, nice. Enjoy what remains of the weekend, I spent this avo sitting by the sea, in the van, chilling out.
Hi Colin We are venturing up to Yorkshire this week as this was where my Nan was from. We have a few things on the wish list (York, Whitby, Staithes, and Flamingoland), but is there anything else that you'd recommend us to come and see while we are in God's Country over the next week. Cheers mate!!!
Ah mate, there is so much to do... Visit Skipton (and the castle) or Ilkley/Otley for a lovely Yorkshire town vibe (cafes, places to eat etc) Bolton Abbey, the ruins and the Strid Filey (Not far from Whitby) Ingleton and the water fall trail Have a look at the Welcome To Yorkshire website and you will not go far wrong matey Enjoy your trip
you have got this campervanning sussed, I do all the same things as you but your camps look way better and more peaceful. I have decided that i willI have to leave my wife behind as well.
Its a lot more "hectic" when I am with the family hahaha! But I love that for different reasons. Getting out alone is nice, but can get a tad lonely sometimes. Great headspace time though...
"Sunglasses for your camera" 😂 Does that mean that you look a right numpty if you use them indoors? 🙃 Oh, and after your 'Col-dancing' did the owner bring you a blanket and a nice, sweet cup of tea, while their partner phoned for some professional help? 😂

Hi Colin, what’s your thoughts on “wild swimming”? (Or swimming as I like to call it)
It's something I like the idea of, then would probably chicken out at the last minute 🤣🤣
Good video as always Col😊

Wild camping I'm afraid is a thing of the past, pay a few quid and get some sleep. Wake up with all your kit still on situ.
You legend 😅
Check out west burton falls just down the road more photogenic
Awesome, I'll add that one to the list matey, thank you!
