I've noticed a bias you have and that might not serve every viewer so well: You have a preference for the more cold/flat professional character look. For many people who do not work with enterprise clients, the look is a little too static/plain and lacking life for say a youtube video aimed at a casual audience. But any way-- thank you for the review video, it has allowed me to better wrestle with what to purchase.
You’re welcome and I can tell you that I felt very strongly about giving my honest opinion about the tools that I don’t like very much because they are so dominant marketing wise.
Great video and reviews! I think you are a generous grader but an honest reviewer. Thanks for taking the deep dive and exploring these products. Really helps clarify things!
Animaker was recommended to me by GPT, for a small business that's advertising budget is $50, i think it was actually a good choice. It was half my budget for advertising this month, but it gave me the confidence to start a youtube channel for the company at an affordable price. I would prefer the other tools, but all these are expensive.
Yes, sometimes you gotta let your budget decide. I'm just sharing my thoughts on quality, and then you gotta make up your mind for yourself about your specific usecase.
I have lifetime access to all the resources. I find that CS is excellent for short videos, but it can be challenging for long stories and infographics due to the limited actions available for each character.
Appreciate your comment, thank you! Yes, I’ll dive deeper into 3D soon - but really I only see CreateStudio in this space of easy to use, easy to learn, animation maker for 3D. Will get to it!
Thank you very much for this. I have been trying various other 2D program and this gives me so much insight without having to buy and commit myself. Thank you.
All ridiculous priced all of them, they are all more expensive then most real professional software, and quality of build really don’t match at all for what they want, very bad and also all are browser build almost which is unprofessional already for me, can’t even believe that people pay like 150bugs for a software like that a month, they should be priced from 10-15 bugs a month not more since these can only really be used for super small companies which want some explainer video.
Why is it ridiculous why should it be free you got to pay to play? Create studio for the money is amazing which is my favorite of them all at 67 bucks it's hard to complain
Hi Rued. Thanks for this video. Your tutorial videos on Vyond trained me to use Vyond as a Multimedia Instructional Designer four years ago. Since then I have become a Vyond master thanks to you and twenty-plus years in video production. So, you have a lot of credibility with me. My team and I were looking at Create Studio as a possible replacement for Vyond. But it just didn't measure up. So, now they want to look at other tools. The new AI storyboard-to-video generation tools just aren't measuring up either. They are like slow-motion slide shows that give creators limited creation control. But this video really looks at comparable products to that we can really see what's out there. I shared this video with my team so that they can better-understand and accept that Vyond is the best we can get for what we do. Your video should speed up this process that we can stop wasting time and get back to creating! Thank you!
Thank you for the kind comment. Really happy to hear that the video is valuable to you and your team. You should come join my community at ruedriis.com/community
Great video! I watched the entire thing. I would love to see these companies evaluated on customer service, response, technical support, and ease of cancellation (and do you get your money back). I know that's a very deep dive into the usability of each platform, but I think it is very important. Thanks for your great review!
Great video Rued! Very helpful! As someone who uses Vyond too, I really appreciate the depth of analysis here. In fact, I took your Vyond class and it really helped me out. I just started my own TH-cam channel 2 months ago and couldn't of done it without taking your class. I'm not great with Vyond yet, but definitely getting better. I'm learning something new with each video. I'm actually about to release my 8th video tomorrow, and I'm pretty excited because I think it's my best work yet! Anyways, I'm curious what you think about After Effects? Any experience with it?
Thank you for letting me know - happy to hear you've benefited from the content and course. To answer your question; AfterEffects is an incredible tool that the best of the best use to create high-end animations. So, you can do pretty much anything you want with it. The price you pay for the limitlessness is a steep learning curve and a tedious production process.
I want to create characters with custom textiles in their clothing and custom solid image backgrounds. Like characters on a simple stage with a backdrop. Which one would you recommend? I’m computer literate and have used photoshop and illustrator and Canva video but have not used animation tools. Thanks! Unlike other reviewers, you know what you are talking about.
i was so hyped about vyond until i saw that part where you have to pay them 99 $ for each video u use... thats nuts ... i really like the software and the high pricing is fine , they offer a lot but that part destroyed me ....should i go with biteable then ? what would be the best option for making storytelling videos and making some cool anime style animations without hardcore softwares like blender or adobe ? Awesome video btw :)
Yes, it's a real bummer for freelancers and agencies, for sure. You can either risk it (not pay), or go with a tool that has reseller rights baked in. Don't think any of them has anime style, if you're thinking Dragon Ball, etc.
Videoscribe is superior, imho, but as you said...matching audio timing is not what one would want and keeps me from going back. It adds a boatload of time to the process. I wish Pictory would add whiteboard, but not enough people upvote it.
Thank you for comparing these tools. VideoScribe or Vyond? My impression is that Vyond has very few styles and elements for "whiteboard" animations. I have the trial version - can Vyond keep up with VidesoScribe in this point and can I create good projects with it? And how exactly can I simulate the "infinite canvas" of VideoScribe? - And in general, I wonder which styles are good for what (Whiteboard, icon, Contemporary, etc.). Can you explain something about this? Thanks again!
Hello, can you recommend a good tool based on quality and pressure? to make a TH-cam video, I would appreciate it since I loved this very honest video, I have already lost a lot of money by taking recommendations from other people
Great comparison video. I agreed with almost everything you said having tried all of them before. My favorite is create studio, and have discovered some layering, masking, and adding effects to some of their stagnant templates, other workarounds but it’s not intuitive. I agree the timeline part takes getting used to. VYOND WOULD BE the favorite, actually like it more than create studio as far useablity and customization but its so expensive, and the watermark being still there at such an high price, and the fee to sell your product as a freelancer is ridiculous!. I used it for a year, when my company was paying for it, 😂but can’t justify paying that price out of pocket myself. Currently to use for social media purposes is 92 dollars a month! And to sell there is a 99 transaction fee.
Have you used the animation part of video editing tools like Render or Premier Pro? If yes, would please point me in the direction of any videos You've done on the matter? Thank you
Create Studio, newest update has add in 3D charactor and it can customised how the charactor reactions and moves . This is a plus point that i came back to Create studio which i aldy gave up for long time. Its new developement has successfully attracted me. If i wanted to hire someone to draw an animation would i ask them to draw a picture which i would then bring to someone else to animate it? Or does the drawer have to draw a few frames?
Rued, I did not see you comment on the lipsync capability of Vyond. Does it do it, or do the styles actually not allow it? Btw, you got my sub with this video 🙂
Hi, I am looking to add animation to a video of me dancing. Is there a program that would allow me to uipload the video of myself, then add anumation, voice, music, etc? Thank you!!

About the 99$ fee. This fee only applies when selling the actual video to another person/company, and not if you plan to use it yourself. That’s what you mean correct
Only if you sell the video and want to transfer the rights to use it to someone else. You don’t pay anything for using the videos yourself, eg on TH-cam, in your company, or in a course.
I believe the success of Animaker adn Powtoon (at least in Mexico) is due to its ease of use by high school and college students, as well as by teachers who make videos without being dedicated to animation.
That is true, but it isn’t really ridiculous when you consider the different audiences. I get 10 X the value out of my Vyond subscription, compared to what I would be able to make with an adobe subscription 🤗
Animaker, as the subscriber for 2 years, they have many improvement in teh term of the charactor , template etc. however they are very less festive and season sensitive towards their developement. If you want to customized the animation towards yr festive / season (example for Asian , Chinese new year) you will have hard time for that. You have limited of download also depends on the plan that you subscribed. Every single download is a count (limited assets and prime assets included) , even a repeated download. Their support is also taking a long time to response.
You are not wrong - Animaker sucks in actions available, it is impossible to find even some basic actions to fit the story the way you want to animate.. Just enourmous marketing baloon indeed. I don't recommend it to anyone outside whoever needs a character speaking in front of a presentation in education videos.

Even for beginners, an offline tool like Cartoon Animator 5 is much better than these. For the next level, there is Moho. Why settle for less when you get full customization capability in these two, without an always on internet?

Can you please share create studio 3.0 excess. I am unable to buy this software but i really need this for my assignments work. In return i can work for you.. Please reply
Vynond charging $99 for people to sell their work just because it was created with their tool in a lot like a hardware company demanding a cut of every house sold that was built by using their hammer. It's outrageous.
@@RuedRiisCom Issue of ''one time subscription'' companies making software, you pay and it feels like you bought it, but the minute your internet is down, you cant use it, if they go bust and go or get bought out, you cant use it, if your at your non-internet cabin in the woods, you cant use it... so as you need 'permission' from their server for it to run, what did you pay for??? you didnt buy anything your just renting permission from them, if its one payment or monthly the end result is the same, you own nothing.... The biased “review” video ever! Animaker is literally the best of all 7! You were so harsh and graded it the lowest score. While all the others were so useless. Then your favorite one, literally does the same thing as Animaker, and still doesn’t seem to be better than Animaker, it is overpriced while Animaker is even better and much cheaper.

I fell for this, I paid for doodly and cant use it without a connection to them and i don't always have internet when/where I want to work, so I feel they effectively control my creativity....

Thanks for this review! Could you tell what animation tool is used for this video:

I asked the author, but he didn't respond to me. :(
Animaker is the most popular because it's the cheapest.....
If you actually listened to the review, you'd know why I think what I think. Animaker is absolute trash, mostly because of the horrible UI.
Pls get the facts correct before posting
