I've been going back and looking at a lot of "reactions" from a variety of people, including dancers - one thing that seems to be a common mistake is to basically ignore the lyrics and focus solely on the choreography. The choreography isn't just there to show musicality, but to support the meaning of the song. Like when you were saying the girls looked like a "doll man" that wasn't just an artistic decision, it was informed by the lyrics of the song. Edit: Something I've seen other reactors do that I really like, is to watch the MV once without subtitles, then again with subtitles, focusing on the song's message, then you can watch the dance practice if you like.
