The traditional and delicious Thai cuisine is passed down through generations!
Once upon a time, during the reign of King Rama V, Thailand was still in the era of water transport, and rivers were the center of trade and gathering places for people!
There was a largest river in Nakhon Nayok Province, called Bang Pakong แม่น้ำบางปะกง, and the banks of the river gradually became a gathering place for nearby farming households to exchange and sell their crops by rowing small boats. With the increasing number of people, food vendors began to appear, and the water market gradually took shape.
As time passed, land transport began to dominate with the popularity of trains and other terrestrial transportation, and the water market gradually declined and even disappeared. However, the New House Market in ChachoengsaoProvince was different because the local government hoped to continue the traditional craft. Many businesses were able to transform successfully and continue to pass on the traditional flavors at the land market. The market was later named "New House Market"!
At the New House Market, there are various traditional foods, desserts, and beverages (such as Thai fried rice with firewood, hundred-year-old Thai milk, coconut coffee, and lotus flower rice), and the prices are definitely cheaper! Here, you can not only taste traditional flavors but also experience the wooden house charm from the water transport era.
