It seems like Debby Harry was having a lot of fun with The Muppets and really got into the gags. Debbie was a great comedian as well as a singer. She could pull off anything. Karl
That's because in those days, appearing on the Muppet Show meant subjecting yourself to all manner of humiliation, no matter who you were. Irrespective of how big a star you were in the real world, one thing was always constant: the Muppets themselves were always the real stars on that show, and you were lucky to be along for the ride. This is why I think every reboot of the Muppets in the years since has failed. They brought in the big-name stars but then made the entire episode about that particular personality. It was probably expected of, and demanded by, the marketing and PR people behind said stars, but it just didn't fit with what made the Muppets such a terrific show in the first place.
I really appreciate this I had no idea that you repaired in The Muppet Show what is awesome bring me back and I appreciate it I really do thank you so much
Debbie looks good here (and everywhere). Would be nice to know what year this was taped. It often seems that movies and music on TH-cam is scrubbed of any indication of the date when something was released. No idea why. But the video description should include that information.
Jim Henson booked her because he knew his son Brian was gaga for her, and that he would be visiting London. So he invited Brian to dinner, and all the while the teenager Brian was sitting next to his celebrity crush!
I certainly fell for Debbie back then she was the most desirable girl on the planet AND what a great personality and expressions .How could any male not fancy the girl with the best smile on planet earth.
Amazing how - because she was so intrinsically cool, and didn't take herself too seriously - she could even make playing with the Muppets look cool! Note how she is singing live, too (or at least pre-recorded a live vocal for this appearance)! I wonder how many 'stars' today would be willing to play with the Muppets?
@@sissyalexander7001 Actually, it's both. An overdub of the original artist. You can hear her sing backup vocals at one point where she pauses because of the muppets acting up and there is break in her singing. So honestly, she is (technically) singing backup to her own lyrics, but for the rest of the song, she is singing legitimately.
But just for that one song, I think. The others I think she sang with the other Muppet band including Animal on drums, etc. Although I think Clem Burke could give Animal a run for his money!
@@CharlesOdell She was so beautiful and sexy but also a great singer and wrote some of Blondie's great tracks. Blondie were a great band and younger audience's are finding their music. @@CharlesOdell Definitely. I've been in love with Debbie for 44 years and still do. ♥️♥️🌹🌹🌹 So hands off my girl Charles lol I'm so glad we all love Debbie ♥️ All the best man 👍
I was always a huge fan because of her fabulous music, but I never had a crush on her. Now, however, I'm thinking that she would be a golden love interest, so late in life. Queen of my dreams.
She was singing over a pre-recorded track for this. You can tell with the "echo". Definitely authentic with everything going on. Great stuff. God Bless her.
I was staying with my brother in Malibu that summer, and I used to go up on the strip...I saw Deb outside the Troubadour having a smoke, and we got to talking...I was too stunned by her beauty to talk much, but she was totally cool, and knew how to handle me. She was so cool... man, she knew I was shy, and gave me a kiss on the cheek. She has been forever my Hard crush....what a classy babe. Hey Deb, if you're out there and remember an 18 year old kid in a pair of jeans and a "Buckwheat Surfs" tank top, ... you made my summer. I was a punker, CBGB and 688 club. Baby, you laid the path for Madonna, but there is no mistaking...you are the original Queen of it all. You are, have been and always will be, my number #1. Kiss back....

Madonna is not only a great singer, but also Deborah Harry/ Blondie. Only insiders know the truth. Deborah Harry is not Hillary Clinton!!! And neither is Clinton Madonna! The same Deborah Harry who did the Muppets, hosted Solid gold and "I'm on e"... midnight special, midnight Express plus music videos: call me, rapture, the tide is in, Denai, Denai; Ring (circle) of fire, and in your presence, dear. Madonna is Deborah Harry and mostly a young minor for some of it.

As I recall from those day's it was quite an honor to be a guest star on the Muppet Show.

I completely disagree with your assessment of guest stars on the Muppet Show.
She was the best by far and was so ahead of her game it was shocking. She simply was the best.
the oldest profession
I love this, but her duet with Kermit singing rainbow connection was brilliant Imo.
Love Debbie she is pure class and a great singer and performer
Omg... This is beyond, what's better than BEST?!
The Betterest lol
Damn, she even throws in a muppet impression - 0:29
Only the gorgeous Debbie Harry could still look desirable in an orange prison uniform.
So creative and fun tonwatch!😀😎😍

I believe the posters often don't know.
I can't be too precise, but it must be before 1990. Karl
Is it still Punk to do the Muppets? Only if You are Debbie Harry ...too cool.
Baldie lmaooo
debbie has a great sense of humor 😂
She has the most sexiest mouth ever!
That pouting mouth drives me crazy
I wonder how many guys fell for Debbie Harry back then! He personality made her attractive even more.

Grew up with a Giant crush on her, Parallel Lines ❤️🎶. She was and is mesmerizing and she is just too freakin cute in this 😍.
The band actually look like Blondie :-D. Too funny. Love it.
That's why she looked at them with amazement.

Debbie Harry is little miss fabulous now and in 1980. I'm ready for MARRIAGE today, and forever.

The Eighties. WHAT A GREAT DECADE!!!!
Ain't it the truth? All the best rockers came from then.
sweet debbie always fun
A love.
She's such a good sport.
What's green and smells of Debbie? 😂
She was a natural on a stage whether acting or singing.
Who was she supposed to be looking for anyway?
The guy who booked her on this crummy show!- LOL
*Jim Henson gives you a weighted stare* lol
Singing a song about stalking on the Muppet show 🤣
Shes got a lovely mouth
So my question is who was Debbie friends with in NY who got her all these cute Muppet Show appearances?
I like the Statler and the Waldorf's comments at the end.
She was queen of pop rock on 1980
My guess is likely Jim Henson himself lol
She didn't bother turning all her hair blond for her appearance. She looks so much more normal on this appearance.
Hey! That drummer wasn't Animal. WTF!
He was doing a cameo for "manah manah" that night lol
Deb miming i dont suppose them muppets realised
Happy birthday Debbie! 💐❤

Just when I thought she couldn't be any more cooler
Debbie Harry was eclipsed by Stevie Nicks as Queen of Rock 'N Roll. So the Blondie lead singer was once a female Elvis!
Debbie was the primary writer of most of blondie's songs, unlike stevie, with Fleetwood mac,
@@annaspyropoulos6138 Stevie did write the Fleetwood Mac songs on which she sang lead, most of them anyway.
