I am not normally a fan of contemporary music for string quartet, but this has got to be one of the most interesting things I’ve heard! Phenomenal job Brian, you have captivated me!!
This is a pretty cool piece, it reminds me about Berg. Actually, it might be the best contemporary string quartet I have heard in years. Congrats for the achievement! This is one of the pieces you will feel proud about the rest of your life.
I’m a chamber music fanatic and probably listen to over 200 string quartets each year, some familiar, some new to me. This is unquestionably one of the finest I’ve listened to in the last year. You’ve created an excellent work that has color, drive and lyricism. I heard moments in some of the lyrical sections that brought to mind David Diamond, but overall you have a unique and distinctive musical voice. I’ll be listening to your other compositions. Very exciting stuff.
This is fantastic. Wonderful play of colors and textures, with something missing from so much contemporary music: a satisfyingly driven and organic sense of pulse and rhythm. Calls to mind the Bartok quartets.
I like this piece. My favorite part was at 9:20 where it does something similar to the section at 4:52, but this time escalates into an exciting coda! I like the importance of the triplets and sextuplets in the piece. Also the unison at 11:13 with each instrument playing the same note was another exciting moment.
this is insane i've never heard anything like this before - do u plan on releasing it on spotify anytime soon? - would be a great addition to my playlist!
Thank you for creating and sharing this magnificent work. Do you like Bartok, Szymanowski, or Villa-Lobos? This work belongs in the canon of great string quartets.
Thanks so much for your interest in the work! ❤️ The consortium of performances are running through 2025, but I can definitely let you know when the piece is released!
This feels like seeing a new color.

virtuoso, and fine use of melodic/harmonic phrases that actually make sense. Glad you decided to finish this, a super piece!
This should quickly become part of every major quartet’s repertoire. Simply a brilliant new piece.
this string quartet is awesome!!! such a tasteful balance of tonality/atonality

In a good way tho
Shostakovich is usually tonal
