A big issue with Charles was he had too much drama. Everytime he was in the news, it wasn't about the music, just trouble he got into.
He actually got a second record deal in 2015 with Republic. He was doing good with his second round but he wasn't a priority on the label. His album came out the same week as labelmate Post Malone and... I'm sure you can guess who's getting pushed more. But for the most part, yeah... it was too little, too late.

If you've seen the Red Bull documentary they did on him back in like 2015/16, it's a pretty good watch. He links back up with a bunch of his old friends that appeared on his tracks back in the day, but there's a real low point in the doc where he goes on a cruise ship with his mother and she suddenly passes away while they're on the cruise. That part really made me sympathize with him, like I could just feel how alone and empty he must've felt at the time.
It's a bummer his debut album release and that single from Empire didn't quite re-spark his career.

He got signed during a time when Backpack rap was fizzling out. I thought if anything he didn't make it in rap he'd still have a place in Hip Hop as a super producer. But a lot of things kept him from reaching his true potential. From mental issues to ego. I hope he gets back to his former glory. We saw a glimpse of that when he came back with New York Raining. But since then he's not really been the same.

In my opinion cuz I was a big fan, i don’t think him being clowned was really the downfall. Man...she wrote a whole diss track on him basically...and he freestyled some shit back.
Why didnt she just freestyle and do something lyrical? He was trying to pass the fame he was getting, onto her. Letting her shine some too. And she instead, tried to diss him, instead of just showing her lyrical ability. And when he randomly freestyles some shit back that was in the same lane of what she was saying...responding to her...he cut too deep??? She had been preparing to rip this guy a new on for God knows how long and had her phone ready with the rhyme on it for easy access. She was trying to play him in front of the cam when he tried to let her shine. Fcuk that. If I was him I woulda went hard on my freestyle too, but I think I woulda blocked that punch
Did he NOT think she could get mad about the part he got punched on?
Once again how tie'ing it up with a woman can be more like an anchor for your ship rather than a kite to your string.
