    As usual, this is NOT a sponsored video or content. I simply was invited to visit and accepted because of my positive experiences with TMR and similar feedback from my friends. It also helps address a common issue in the industry where "flipping" Audiophile gear has turned into a minefield of unscrupulous people.

    the music room is a great place to sell stuff, I've sold an amp on there and bought some used Omega CAM speakers, the speakers were packed immaculately I was so happy with that, had speakers bought direct from the owners arrive destroyed before

    I've purchased four items from them and returned one.
    My experience was 100% positive !
    If I'm in need of equipment in the future I would certainly consider TMR.

    TMR is the best. I've purchased several things from them and every single time it's been top notch.

    A few weeks ago I purchased a Pass Labs X1 preamplifier from TMR. It looks and functions as it did the day it came out of the production room. I've purchased other items from TMR and all have been exactly as described on their website. Packaging is exceptional.
    You can purchase used gear with confidence from TMR.

    I sold them my Magnepan 1.7i's and bought 2.7i speakers. I got great counsel on how to safely ship my Maggie's [custom pallet] and all the care and feeding along the way. Great experience.

    I have bought a pair of headphones & high end CD player from them. Both were great purchases with no issues. I 'sold' three things to them. Went OK but an issue on clear communication with them about what they owed me was wrong & delayed on their end for longer than it should of, frustrating. Now I have bought numerous things on U.S & Canuck Audio Mart & never had an issue with any seller, got some very good prices & some sellers went the extra mile & some have ended up as friends I still communicate with.

      I have had positive experiences for most of my transactions with TMR . . . . but communications eh ! not so much . All positive from Audio Mart (USA) lastly I got a pair of large speakers from a local seller. When I was speaking with him about what size vehicle was needed to pick them up. He said no worries and delivered them, helped carry into the house and aided me in the perfect set up. But, I might just be lucky, my girl friend always tells me so ; >}

    I've been confused about Music Direct for a while - I heard that it's a good place to check for preowned equipment. Your video confirms that. Yet when I look at their site, I only see new stuff, and no mention of used equipment. What's the trick to seeing that gear too? Is it only shown to people who have set up an account on their site maybe? Seems that they should at least tell people how to see that gear. Thx

    I’m all about the “ discount “ it’s transparency ! At the high dollar level it is the only way that we could trust things… it seems totally cool with me. To be honest this is one of the first places I personally would wanna look into. Besides GR.. lol . I really wanna see the electro stats from Greece( I forget the name) .I wish these guys would do a show. Some really cool VC should come in an bottle feed these guys get em to 500 employees..lol

    I inquired about making a trade of a piece of equipment for one that I found on their website. The price they quoted that they would buy my equipment for was about a third of the “ Blue Book” price - not even close to the price they were asking for their piece. I ended up selling my gear on Audiogon for what I wanted. I still check TMR’s website often to check on equipment, but their offer on mine left a very bad taste in my mouth. TMR’s prices still are not as bad as SkyFi Audio which is geared more to collectors than people looking for a bargain.

      You will always get more money if you sell direct...HOWEVER...imagine if you did all the things they did...warrantied the sale...etc...what would you charge for that extra comfort and convenience you're providing. It's a voluntary service, so you can choose what risk/reward you want to pursue, but often the market just doesn't hold value on some pieces...or it's a big risk to hold and wait for a high price.

    I recommend caution purchasing cables from them. There’s a lot of fake Chinese copies of legitimate brands that are difficult visually to see any difference. I purchased a Tara Labs digital cable from them that turned out to be a fake. Unfortunately I never found out until long after the purchase. At that point, I felt there would be no resolve. I doubt they knew it was fake which is the problem.
    I did purchase an integrated amp from them at a very fair price and I am satisfied with it. I would purchase from them again, just not cables.

    • @AudiophileJunkie
      @AudiophileJunkie  23 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      I sympathize with your experience, but I would say that individuals selling stuff used are far more likely to try to sell you fakes. It may happen where one slips by TMR, but they have too much to lose by doing so intentionally and they probably catch many trying to sell fakes to them. On the whole, your experience is much more a risk with an unknown guy with a nebulous screen name.

      It doesn’t look like a place you come and visit for fun, it’s very clearly a working warehouse. It sounds like they do events that are open to the public though, and I know you can pick up stuff you’ve purchased from them.

      Yeah...I asked and they don't really host daily visitors, but i'm sure if you schedule something in advance they may. All their staff is busy with day-to-day operations though and it's not really equipped for traditional dealer/demo style

    Regrettably, my experience with TMR went south FAST ! First transaction was absolutely awesome.. Second transaction was extremely disappointing... Had a beautiful brand new turntable but the $2K cartridge died within 30 days. They questioned my integrity so I gave up and shipped it back.... Life is WAY TOO SHORT to have your integrity questioned.. Never had any problems with ANY other dealers in the past 40+ years ! Just TMR.. SMH...
