He seems to train and take care of his body better than others his size with that in mind. This includes exercises that strengthen his feet, and they are making sure to build up muscle evenly (a bigger upper body would be detrimental to his knees and feet). He's also worked on landing as softly as possible. I think he has a higher chance at staying healthy than other big men his size of the past. *knock on wood*

He’s actually very injury prone if you look at his history. Most of his injuries happened in the euro league, the only league he played in with players of any notable size. He missed over half his games in those 2 years. I don’t know how so many people don’t look that up, it’s on record. I hope he’s good because I live close to SA, but there are a lot more red flags (both injury-related and non-injury related) than people are willing to admit or look up. I´m a 43-year-old basketball fan and I have never in my life seen anything like that. He is a 7-footer who dribbles like a 6-foot point guard, steps back three like a really good shooting guard, plays in the paint like an outstanding center, and blocks as a great defender, I can´t imagine how good he´ll be in the NBA in today´s game, I`m guessing he´ll completely dominate. In the NBA he´ll indeed play against NBA players, but he will also have NBA players as teammates, which will make him look ever better than he does now. He´s the future of this league.

For me this is the incredible things I see from a 7’5”, 19 yo:
    1) He runs fluidly for over 7 ft tall
    2) He anticipates steals on defense so he has good instincts not just a big guy being forced to play baskbetball.
    3) Confident in self to try one on one moves on smaller players
    4) Confidence in three point shot. This is important because at his height, everyone has told em to play inside and dominate w higher percentage shot.
    5) Very focused and competitive. Will not be a supremely talented young player with no motor.
    6) Looks like he enjoys playing basketball. Not just doing it for $.
    7) Very fluid moves not a robot. He’s a real basketball player not a big whose being taught moves cuz he’s a stiff.
    8) Excellent passer for big. See’s the game step ahead.
    9) For a 7 footer & a player with huge hands, his shooting form is beautiful. Great touch.
10)Thank god he’s going to a legendary franchise with a legendary coach. There will be structure, team pride and fundamentals passed on. Please 🙏🏻 injury bug leave this kid alone. Cannot wait for the season to begin. Great time to be a San Antonio Spur.

KD was at 215 lbs coming into the league and Wemby is currently at 230 lbs (of course he's taller but in terms of body type I would argue they are roughly comparable). It would of course not be the smartest use of Wemby's talents to let him defend Joker of Embiid on the block for an entire game but pair him with a bulkier big man (Jakob Poeltl would've been handy here^^) and let him play more like a free safety on D (similar to the role of Giannis next to Lopez) and the results should be devastating

@@exposedition6999 ESPN lists him at 230 and as I said he should be playing next to a more physical big man. I feel like the game is evolving away from paradigms like "the tallest player must stay closest to the basket". I'm not saying a few pounds would harm him but I wouldn't say they are a strict necessitiy for him to be an incredible player. In my opinion a KD-like body would do his skill set more favors than a Giannis-like body. And yes Homgren had a broken foot but so did Yao Ming, who definitely didn't lack muscles (I think he played at around 310 lbs) so I wouldn't say the lack of bulk is the risk factor here but rather the height.
