Honestly the only person he’s comparable to is young Wilt Chamberlain. The perfect combination of size and athleticism. He’s literally a modern day version, with handles and a 3 point shot. I Won’t be surprised if he breaks a lot of those records.
Wilt Chamberlain could bench over 600 lbs and was a national track star...come on now 😂. Wemby looks great, but I'd say he's a freakishly tall version of KD or Ingram.
Hell nah. Wilt was a powerhouse of a man. Wemby just has freak agility. Weirdly good agility. Quick first step, can turn corners like a 6 ft guard, is always balanced, good jumping ability. But he isn’t wilt.
Foot work and body control is absolutely insane. I know people wanna see this dude be a 7 foot 4 KD, but if he puts on a little weight, masters the drop step, and locks in a hook shot... it's over. He could have you in the post 18 feet from the basket and make 1 move and dunk it, the amount of ground he covers on some of these spins and dropsteps is unbelievable, someone get Shaq and Duncan to come tutor this dude.
Reminds me of Ralph Sampson. He was 7'4" and weighed about 225-30. He was the #1 Draft pick by the Houston Rockets and played for 4 teams 1983-1992. A knee injury eventually ended his career. Tall light weights find it hard going in the NBA.
It’s like watching KD when he’s shooting, and he already is as aggressive and strong going to the basket as giannis was 3 or 4 years into his career. I know NBA players are going to push him around some at first, but he’s a lot more physical already than I had assumed
You can't convince me that if this kid was playing in wilt/Bill Russell's era or even with Larry and Magic's, he would cook them and every single team he'd play against. They'd probably say he's an alien because no man 7'5 is supposed to move, handle and shoot the ball like that. That's not even mentioning his athleticism as well. I was never one to compare era's, but wemby is honestly the One. He's the one you could put in any era and say yeah this guy is him. His skillset and physical gifts just blow me away
He doesn't have Jokić's genius, and his reads can be pretty sluggish, but he's already shown creativity and accuracy as a playmaker so far. His intelligence is reportedly top-tier.
I know he can play as a guard, but I don't think that's best for him. He should play a mix between Sabonis (hand-offs, screens, rolls, 3-point pops) and Dirk (high-post isolation where he can hit cutters, shoot over anyone or drive to the basket).
@@Username2521hh People are raving about his guard-like skills, like his dribbling in the perimeter, his step-back 3s, etc. But I'm saying that he shouldn't lean into that, he should focus on the big-man skills that he also has and his shooting of course.
@@jesustenes2 ah ok yeah they are. But everybody can dribble now, including centers like Jokic. Pop played Tim at the 4, even though he was obviously a center. He’s not afraid to go against the grain if it works for the team and the star’s development. It all depends on matchups. If they are playing a team with a center who’s 220 and under, play him at center. If they have a sf who’s slower, play him there. As long as he’s improving at any basketball skills, he’ll succeed
you never know, Pop did experiment with Timmy at the 3 a little bit early on before finally settling at the 4 Pop might actually experiment with wemby at the 2 and see how it goes imo
(I'm revising my original comment.) In today's no touch, soft defense NBA, Victor has very good potential.. He handles the ball and shoots like a guard. However, he'll be up against the best of the best in the NBA. He will no longer be playing against 3rd rate competition. He is very young and has so much to learn. In time, he should do well with the right coaching. He will need to bulk up and improve his conditioning. He is very green. It's a whole new world for him.
I've never wanted someone to succeed so much. There is so much pressure on him. If he's not successful he will unfairly just be labelled "biggest bust in history".
I have been watching basketball since 1987 and I have *never* seen this combination of ball handling and shooting in a 7'5" package. His defense given his size is a given. Just simply unreal!!! Wow just have to see if he can stay injury free.
He's like prime Sabonis with the Euro skills. NBA fans are finding out at last that European players really are more skilled that the US players. Same thing was dropped on Canada in hockey in the 70s when they had to face the facts that Russian players had superior technical skill levels.

He hasn’t even played a single nba game yet, chill out 😂
Wemby is so quick man. I can't wait to see him play in the NBA
Imagine if he learned a sky-hook type maneuver that would be insane
Can you imagine lol the ball would be up in the rafters kissing spurs title banners 🤣
He would easily score 40 a game. A knock down sky hook at his height would be unable to get blocked
nah with that height and wingspan he's gonna be unstoppable lol
He reminds me alot of kareem minus the perimeter play and inside game as a trade off.
@@Tellitlikeitis-e8vyooo calm down let’s see him play first
Bro has everything! Skills, genes, length, iq and athleticism.
He capricorn too this nigga gone be the 🐐 😢
Reminds me of Ralph Sampson. He was 7'4" and weighed about 225-30. He was the #1 Draft pick by the Houston Rockets and played for 4 teams 1983-1992. A knee injury eventually ended his career. Tall light weights find it hard going in the NBA.
Yuck! Sampson is a bust. Oh I see what you did there.....

Wemby will average 3.2 blocks, 10.3 rebounds, 22 points, and 4 assists during his rookie season.
In a way better championship than NCAA
thats hefty
if he wont have any injury
He probably would get less rebounds(he is not the strongest defensive rebounder),but that's around my estimation
@@lepetitchelem la phrase est au futur : ça parle de sa saison rookie l'année prochaine 😉
This kid is gonna be the goat
He's fast, he's quick for his size and he can shoot for 3, dunks of course and his dribble is quite good....
Victor wembanyama is the new goat for sure
Praying he gets to reach his potential
I like the moment, where he rebounds his own 3 pointer and slams it one handed😊🎉
It’s like watching KD when he’s shooting, and he already is as aggressive and strong going to the basket as giannis was 3 or 4 years into his career. I know NBA players are going to push him around some at first, but he’s a lot more physical already than I had assumed
This dude is like a graceful giraffe running down the court and I mean that with NO disrespect it’s just like unreal
Dude did a put back dunk off of his own stepback three😮😮That shit is terrifying
You can't convince me that if this kid was playing in wilt/Bill Russell's era or even with Larry and Magic's, he would cook them and every single team he'd play against. They'd probably say he's an alien because no man 7'5 is supposed to move, handle and shoot the ball like that. That's not even mentioning his athleticism as well. I was never one to compare era's, but wemby is honestly the One. He's the one you could put in any era and say yeah this guy is him. His skillset and physical gifts just blow me away
This is insane, never seen someone like him, can’t wait to see what he brings to the Game💯
He can get that low at 7’5 is actually insane
Too sum this guy up: A 7'5 point guard who can play center and PF and shoots with such confidence for a guy his size taking step backs even. Crazy
I hope wemby has the IQ of jokic for sure he will dominate the game and avoiding possible injury and makes his career more secure
He doesn't have Jokić's genius, and his reads can be pretty sluggish, but he's already shown creativity and accuracy as a playmaker so far. His intelligence is reportedly top-tier.
He will be much better than jokic he can do so much more
@@siphillisin Europe jokic iq was mid wemby did better than him not even close
I love you victorwembenyama
It looks like he is someone who can score 100 points
Victor going to have Jim’s documentary cooked up in 15 years 🚶🏿♂️💭🐐
I know he can play as a guard, but I don't think that's best for him. He should play a mix between Sabonis (hand-offs, screens, rolls, 3-point pops) and Dirk (high-post isolation where he can hit cutters, shoot over anyone or drive to the basket).
Has anyone said he should play guard? I’ve only heard pf or center
@@Username2521hh He is in damn good hands for sure!!
you never know, Pop did experiment with Timmy at the 3 a little bit early on before finally settling at the 4
Pop might actually experiment with wemby at the 2 and see how it goes imo
a new legend has been born 🔥🔥🔥
For a 7'7" player he's got some excellent handles and agility
This man is about to torch the league
(I'm revising my original comment.)
In today's no touch, soft defense NBA, Victor has very good potential.. He handles the ball and shoots like a guard.
However, he'll be up against the best of the best in the NBA. He will no longer be playing against 3rd rate competition. He is very young and has so much to learn. In time, he
should do well with the right coaching. He will need to bulk up and improve his conditioning. He is very green. It's a whole new world for him.
We’ll see, he couldn’t dominate against g league players
@@arod09 Agree for the most part. It will take him time for sure.
@@steve4158 yea first game doesn’t mean much, we’ll see tho
@@arod09 Now he's against tough competition. When he adapts, which will take time, he'll be pretty good.

10:11 is basically a summary of this guy's potential
I’m impressed. Stay wise and healthy young fella.
#1 pick ofc 😂
So excited to see this dude play
I've never wanted someone to succeed so much. There is so much pressure on him. If he's not successful he will unfairly just be labelled "biggest bust in history".
the fact that he has a highlight reel posted by the NBA and he’s not even in the league yet 💀💀
Spurs better re-enforce every bone in his body with adamantium or else I see a lot of load management in his future
he gonna be rookie all star, since first 2009
Sengun will cook Wemby at the post
I have been watching basketball since 1987 and I have *never* seen this combination of ball handling and shooting in a 7'5" package. His defense given his size is a given. Just simply unreal!!! Wow just have to see if he can stay injury free.
I think his body will form out like Giannis if hes really hungry
If that happens the league in trouble ..
He's reportedly a competitive junkie, and can even be reduced to tears after tough losses.
@@ThePharcyde13 he would literally be a dbz fusion of KD and giannis lol u
Dude is an absolute freak of nature.
This guy needs a dirk mid range jump shot and he'll have a long career
He's like prime Sabonis with the Euro skills. NBA fans are finding out at last that European players really are more skilled that the US players. Same thing was dropped on Canada in hockey in the 70s when they had to face the facts that Russian players had superior technical skill levels.
Didn't Perkins tweet: "Can't wait to see what Giannis and Embiid do to him. God bless America"? Why is he saying now he must be an All Star next season? So if he doesn't he has both stories covered...? Hate that mfer

I gotta be honest. This kid has bust written all over him. None of the shit I see in this vid (outside of the jump shot, and tall shooters are a dime a dozen now so nothing special there) will work in the league against grown men. He'll be broken in half.
chinese are way way more super thin eating too much noodles 😅
This is a professional league, these are literally grown men what are you talking about. Not to mention this league is more physical than the NBA
@@stefcika9232 It's the fucking French league. It's about on a par with the Aussie league that LaMelo played in. It's well below the Spanish league and nowhere near Euro league level. These teams would lose to high level college squads.
@@morganlee2806 Lamelo's stats in his first NBA season are better than his stats in the NBL he didn't just go there and dominate. Also these teams would blowout any college team, where exactly do you think D1 players go after College? This Kid is the future!!
About five years ago I was in a McDonald’s in Paris and there was a group of kids joking around with a basketball in line. One of them was an incredibly tall black kid. So tall he crowded the ceiling lights. I wanted to ask them if he was any good but didn’t. When victor showed up I looked up his neighborhood in France and that was where I had been. He does look familiar. Go figure.
Im so hyped for this boy Wemby, lets fuckin go Spurs !!
