      The NBA funds the WNBA. The NBA will not be able to fund the WNBA with more than 50% of their audience. Further the WNBA alienated most of their fans by boycotting for a man that tried to finger rape his ex girlfriend.

      @PeteMD 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      To the players yes. Basically what you are seeing is a very, VERY strong players union in the NBA. They run the show. They can opt out and hold owners and entire franchises and fan bases hostage, can do and say whatever they want with impunity.
      Then look at the NFL. If Jerry Jones or a Robert Kraft don’t like the way your eyes are shaped or their infant grandchild tells them to or if they have a dream about it they can black ball you from the league if they want. They have complete power in NFL. They make $$$$$$$. Serious money. Order of magnitude more than NBA, with better profit sharing between franchises.
      NBA is in a very dangerous place. For a different reason, look at baseball. It didn’t matter the reason(boredom basically), once they lost viewers they never recovered, and may never will. Baseball just cancelled playoff games so as not to disturb or compete with and lose to college football. Thats how far they’ve fallen. NBA right behind

    I remember last year when a lot of sports media were predicting a rating bloodbath because of the canadian team in the finals. Little did they know that the U.S. sports fans were much more likely to tolerate a team from another country than a parade of homegrown malcontents.

    And game 3 was even lower! Showbuzzdaily has the ratings. So, game 3 was 4.1 million. These are the lowest ratings ever, and that's including when the NBA finals were on tape delay and airing after 11:30 PM.(when CBS had the rights late 70s/early 80s). Even the late night/ tape delay ratings were almost double what the current NBA ratings were for game 2 and 3.

    Game 3 went against Sunday Night Football and The Walking Dead season finale so I'd look for the Game 3 ratings to be even worse. Bama and Clemson are interchangeable but Georgia, Miami, and Notre Dame are wayyyyyyy to high.

    It’s all the more glaring because the majority of people don’t have many places to go. And it seems like they are stuck in the position of they can’t walk back their stance. They have to see it through to the end, at what costs though?

    Kobe played with fierce competitive Aggression.
    Labron Broods, Sulks & Whines. King James? The King may have clothes and a new $37 mill mansion, but his court has thinned by 70%. NBA echo chamber bubble won't hurt Labron. He has made his fortune. The next generation will reap what he has sewn..

    Jordan: Understood the NBA was about entertainment. He wanted to be the best and, as a result, the ‘hero’ of show. He became a role model through his determination and leadership, and hard work. His skills were a tool to be the best and attract an entire world to watch.
    James: Believes the NBA is a platform for his opinions. He wants to be the center of attention (‘member “The Decision”?). He wants to be a role model by hierarchy and social media popularity. His skills are secondary to the business.
    James will never be better than Jordan. Only of those too ever made the team, league, and world better around him.
