I remember watching this sermon when it first aired. It was an hour long. This was the time I started watching Charles Stanley and would try not to miss any of his sermons. I thought it was great how he never seemed to raise his voice to be like preaching at anyone but was calmly teaching like a father to his son.

We all need encouragement. I recall driving in snow and I had no choice but keep going or else … by my sides trucks spinning and some of them out of the road, watching the caos were not helping. I remember my son telling me:“it will be over soon”. Even though we had to pass several other storms, those words of encouragement made a difference and helped me to keep going…

I resigned and had a new opportunity lined up but I was let go. In the middle of thinking did I give up or did I make the right decision, leaving the old workplace. I am in pilot 🧑✈️ school now after going skydiving because of me working where I was. Never would have imagined! Now I’m seeking work again, one blessing came from that old work place but did I choose wisely.

So on your level they tell you that g stands for some kind of god. But it doesn’t. It stands for genesis, or creation. And the things you worship as a god are merely creations of man.
This guy is unbelievable - really! He is a subtle type of prosperity gospel preacher. It's not necessarily directly about the money in your pocket, but it is about you and your material success. Listen to him talk (10:25) about how God has favored people for a promotion even though they were less qualified for the job! Is that what Jesus is about? I don't see it anywhere in Scripture. Stanley's schtick encourages people to be self-absorbed: what Jesus can and will do for me. It's a package that sells well and likely provides him status and a good income. I have to wonder how 1 Jn 2:6, the command to live like Jesus, actualizes in his life and that of his fans. Notice how he talks about obedience but never gives specifics as to what that entails.
