I realize this is very much a niche audience type thing, but the quality of explanation and carefully detailing the logic behind the setup is just amazing.
Thanks! Yeah it is quite niche, that's kinda why I've been putting it off. But I gathered it would help a few people out there, so that makes it worth it.
8:20 I have a lot of experience in skateboarding, this viewpoint got me thinking about modern truck design and thinking......In skating Compressed bushings always loose performance, (harder Durometer/bigger bushing for more weight is Ideal on paper). Many longboard bushing company's offer different shapes and formula, this alfa gel shape been the most uncommon......for a human of a board of course. I have some Ronin trucks that have a support pin to take the weight of the bushings here on the shelf and a huge box of bushings, time for pen and paper.
Interesting stuff. I don’t know much about fpv or anything but does this not make the screw come lose from all the trembling overtime? Cool video tho.✌️
Thanks! The grommet actually generates a bit of force constantly so that helps the screw stay in. I actually had a system to lock the screw down with a nut, but it has seemed a bit overkill on the long run.
Have you messed around with Sorbothane? I like to stamp out grommets from sorbothane sheeting. I've experimented with various durometers and thicknesses, and the stuff is pretty amazing across a wide range of temperatures.
Hello friend, I am a user who lives in Korea. I can't shoot because of the Sicario x8 vibration. I want to know how you fixed the vibration. Help me. Help me.
Thanks for sharing your findings and research! I’m going to build a Siccario soon thanks to your videos :) Would it be possible to share where to source Alpha Gel Grommets? I would like to design my own dampening solution for smaller frames, and it seems to be a good starting point. Thanks 🙏
Thanks for this interesting video Gab ;) BTW, do you recommend a specific model for Alphagel ? A-1 ? A-2 ? they seems to have different abilities and I would be curious to know which one is better for camera use. A-1 for DLSR "lighter" cameras, and A-2 for Komodo or heavy other ones ? Cheers dude
When the Master speaks you listen!
Thanks gab!
Nice conversation, Gab. Helpful design work
Thanks for the insight gab 👍🏻👍🏻

Similar dampening to the Parrot bebop...Nice... Love your Videos man
perfect timing! thanks man
Thank you!
Thanks for an excellent and well explained video!
Awesome stuff, thanks for sharing
Nice insights! Will you make a video about post stabilization too? I'd love to see that!
Always ask a physics guy when it comes to vibrations and damping.

nice! It's too bad the design wasn't such that the FC could also benefit from the alpha gel dampening
Awsome video! Excited to receive my siccario frame! Was wondering what post stabilization software do you use?

I have not, seems interesting
@@Gab707 If you ever fly in Northern CA, I'll come out and bring you some samples.
Thanks Gab, you explained well enough that even a dummy like me could undertand. Are you flying Thicc or Sicc in those tree shots? new sub thx again
question, is there only two mounting spots on your dampening plate? or are you using 4, wasn't sure if you put 2 bushings on each side or not
gab do you still soft mount like this or have you moved to hard mount? thanks!

Awesome to hear! Look for the taica A1!
Is there any way to just buy the alpha gels?
do you need 4 of the alpha gels? or can you use 2 alpha gel and to stock?
Thanks for this interesting video Gab ;)

I've been using the a1 just more or less tight. The a2 are quite a bit stiffer. Could be worth a test though, they will keep higher frequency noise
@@Gab707 thank you Gab 😉
awesome video. thanks for the info! any chance of getting the zcam mount to print it myself? keep it up
For thicc? There should be a mount out there already
HI GAB. Big fan of yours from Montreal. Got an FPV product I would like you to evaluate if you have the time of course. Mountain DRE
Cheers! Yea for sure would love to have a look!
