Great Videos WildBlueYonder! I was a prior enlised ariman at Elemendorf AFB for 4yrs. Recieved my M.D. --> Residency --> Oncology/Hematology fellowship as a non traditional student. Even the sky is not the limit & age is just a number. Yes, its tough to accept orders from colleagues who're several years younger but just keep your head down and rise up through ranks. Cherish those prior life experiences,since they're more valuable and a treasure.

Hey man I’m an enlisted Airman currently , and I recently found out I got accepted to the USAFA Prep School! I was wondering how long it took for you to be able to start the process and for Outbound to be able to create orders to leave the current duty location. I’ve been told normally there is a CMS case created as soon as the commander is told of any admission but there are no signs of anything under my name as of right now. It’s been about three weeks since I was initially given the news that I got accepted.
Axel Wait, it’s possible to join the Air force Academy while enlisted? Do you need to complete the full 4 or 6 year contract before joining the Airforce Academy or can you join while on active duty mid way through your enlistment?

So I have a friend that is currently in the air force academy prep and I wanted to send them something nice that they could use, like just a cool gift but I have no idea what the restrictions are on what potential cadets are allowed to receive and have. I've sent clothes before but I forgot they can't wear civilian clothes as often. What would you say would be a nice gift I could send? Please and thank you.
By now the preppies are probably in the 3rd or 4th phase in which they have very little restrictions, so you'd probably be good to send anything nice now!

do you still have to take your basic courses even though you have an associates degree.............. ex. history english etc

That’s correct. You can’t have any dependents while at USAFA

Yes, unfortunately. That being said, ROTC and OTS are both viable options even if you are married.
