It halfs the tempo because in reality every tempo is between 60-90bpm, anything 120 pr greater we call double time.

i don't know why, but when I place a note, it plays the 808 repeatedly

Have you opened the 808, clicked on the wrench then turned on 'Cut itself' under the 'Group' menu?

Why do you actually also use cut itself? So that the slides are cleaner?

The 808 will carry on playing for the full note even if you lay another note down next to it, which means both notes will overlap. Cut itself basically means when the next note is played the previous one will stop

The Envelope alone with these settings plays it for the length of the drawn note, so I was wondering if cut itself makes the slide up/down cleaner or so?

That grey line is the "note velocity". Every single note is marked with its velocity (volume in simpler terms) in the piano roll of FL Studio!
