“The transmission in both vehicles are great. Neither are exceptional.”
This is literally the first time I’ve ever heard someone say the Type R transmission is not exceptional. Most consider it the gold standard

We are getting this content for free. And it's good quality content! Thanks Jubbal for the comparison. Just because Chris Harris said the CTR is best hatch doesn't mean everyone else should. And I respect and enjoy Chris's views. I'm lucky to be an owner of FL5 and GR Yaris. Each have their merit. Never driven a GRC but I suspect it's in between yaris and civic. What a time to be alive when we're getting excited about Toyota's and Honda's!

I had a chuckle when you had to cut away when overtaking some other attendees. Excellent comparison even though the GR is rare. Both are beyond my spend appetite but I'm glad both platforms are available. If I were spending the money and both were available to me I'd probably pick the CTR. I worry about heat management in the GR differential and want the lower center of gravity.

It's got different gear ratio in the trans for a little better acceleration, it's got a little less weight, it's tuned for a few extra hp with the same engine, so a tune could equal the power easily. Finally someone who can drive fast and hard enough to recognise the weaknesses in both cars. I was beginning to tire of all the glowing reports on the CTR which overlooked the fact that the front wheels were doing all the work and that torque steer would eventually become an issue if driven hard enough. In the end both are fine cars but both are compromised by front wheels doing some or all of the work. Were it my money I'd go for the Morizo, but I may be biased as I already own a GR Yaris and drive it hard through mountain roads.
