Cash Condensing | $1350 | Bill Swap Sinking Funds | Cash Stuffing

  • Come hang out with me while I condense my sinking funds envelopes!
    If you’re new to cash stuffing, the purpose of this process is to reduce the amount of bills in your envelopes. So I’ll be swapping out smaller denominations for larger denominations because my envelopes are getting too full!
    PRO TIP: I usually don’t recommend filling envelopes like mine with more than 15 bills at a time to make sure they last you a long time!

    I found your videos today, and love the stashing for holidays and things like 'auto repairs that sneak up on you rather than just lumping them together under savings. Keeping the items categorised is smart. I wish banks would let you create mini-savings lists. 😅
    My toxic trait is buying books I know I won't read.

    Thank you for sharing your toxic trait. That’s definitely one of mine! Another is that I’m cancelling my Amazon prime for this season of my life. That free shipping gets me every time! I need an additional barrier right now.

    Hi Rochelle, I just discovered your channel today. I love your savings challenges and after reading about the coin challenge, I emptied all my purses, looking for $ and went through all my pockets and my car--to the tune of $3.61! I also added 2 challenges for myself. I make my living as a writer, so I am saving one penny for every word I write in an article or story.
    I also started Intermittent Fasting and for every mail I do not eat, I save what I might have spent on a meal. That savings challenge is adding up fast! (Much faster than the $3.61 I found at the bottom of my purses!). Keep up the good work and thank you!

    I love your videos. I agree in the bank it is so much easier to just spend. Just starting cash stuffing and loving the decision I am making. Goal is to pay off a lot of debt.

    💜💐Happy Mother’s Day💐💜 I try not to get any new toxic traits lol. But I hate repeating myself multiple times. This only applies to adults I’m fine with kids. But if I have to tell you the same thing more than twice I’m done. I will just do it myself or walk away💜

    Another one of mine, is I do not like odd numbers. I will fight with the volume to get on an even number and having $21 in an envelope is not okay, gotta make it $22!

    Ooo my toxic trait started during COVID - it’s buying more than we need. Like, let’s say I’ve got half a bottle of laundry detergent left - I’ll add it to my target list and pick it up even though it’s not in the budget because “omg what if they don’t have it?!” It was literally the worst feeling ever going to the store during COVID and not being able to get my kid’s specific brand of milk (my one will drink anything, the other was really fussy and needed special milk) and that feeling of not being able to get it anywhere for awhile really stuck and did a number on my finances. I’m getting better about it now and cash stuffing actually helps - if I want the money to roll into my savings challenges at the end of the week, it’s like a game to see how little I can spend and so I only get what we truly need that week.

      Omg I feel so called out 🙈🤣 ….. THIS IS SO ME! I have an entire pantry of “reserve” and you just made me realize the obsession started during covid lol
      I’m also learning how to can and make my own laundry detergent 🤣🤣

    THAT IS MY MAIN TOXIC TRAIT! If I see the large amount of money in my bank, I just want to spend it. If I reach my goal of saving $1,000, I am scared to deposit it in my savings bank account lol That is definitely a great idea you did putting it aside. :)

    • @theaestheticdollar
      @theaestheticdollar  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      SAME!! Even though I track how much is in there for what, it’s still to easy to transfer it over and spend it!!

      As bad as it may be I leave my debt card at home for most things 😂 I only keep cash and one card to the joint account I share with my boyfriend that we keep 100 in. Separate from my bank but in his same one, but he has so much better control with money than I do 😅

    Thanks for sharing your toxic traits! I also make mistakes managing my cash stuffing savings when it's the bank, I'll spend it or forget which goal it was for. Keeping it in an envelope at home is so much easier. One of my other toxic traits is buying soda cans or sparkling water and then not drinking the whole thing. Then it goes flat and no one wants to drink it then! lol

    I thankfully have grown myself out of that exact toxic trait. I actually have all my cash in the bank rather than stuffing my envelopes with cash. I do the binders to keep my money in order. For the past 10 years I literally always spent every dollar in the bank. Lol.

    Thinking I need ice coffee whenever I leave the house…
    Buying more craft supplies even though I have plenty…
    Thinking I need to take advantage of EVERY sale 🤣
    Thinking I need more mommy and matching clothes 😅
    …it’s a list I tell you!

  • @patrickdaigle996
    @patrickdaigle996 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    My toxic trait is having to do everything in 25$ intervals. Which ends in me thinking I have more money to spend than I actually should. example if I have 149$ left over that to me means I can save 125$ and spend the extra 24$. It’s a bad habit that leads to me never being able to save anything 🤦🏻‍♂️

    In your travel envelope you added the 50 bill, instead swapping. You should have 100.00 instead of 150.00. I’m not sure if you caught that when you edited your video. Thank you for sharing!

    My toxic trait is that I don't care whose house I am in or anywhere for that matter, if the toilet roll is not facing the correct way, I change it. As far as finances are concerned, my toxic trait is that I always think I have plenty of time to save for something but I don't but I have wasted the money i could have saved in the meantime on stuff I didn't really need, so that is why I started cash stuffing to stop all of that happening.

    • @blknubian
      @blknubian ปีที่แล้ว

      Omg, this is me. I truly need to value and appreciate $1 and $5 bills more. You spend "pocket change" on little things, $3.50 here, $5.40 there and next thing you know it totals $60..... HOW??? Like you said, cash stuffing helps you to see your money and appreciate how fast that pocket change can accumulate and contribute to your financial goals in a positive and productive way!

      They’re really thick so they’d be too bulky for my envelopes, and possibly for zipper envelopes too. They have prop money on Amazon in $100 bills that might make more sense than my style of placeholder 🫶🏼

    My toxic trait is kinda like yours. I will spend and spend with my card but once it comes to cash I wont spend.
    My other one is that I hate all numbers meaning I will round everything up to $5 so if its 24 it immediately goes to 25 (if it can).
