- In this video, Dr. Shadee Elmasry talks about one of the most oft-misunderstood figures in the Qur'an, Khidr A.S. It was differed by the scholars about the reality of Sayyidna Khidr and his reality: who is he? What is his law? Is he alive? Dr. Shadee addresses these questions in this video.

All souls shall taste death. Khidr can't be dead and alive simultaneously His story in the Quran must have some benefits for the Ummah of Nabi Muhammad.

What are your sources for that stuff about Khidr, like living half and half, having all these powers etc...?
Most of these reports are commonly collected in the Tafsir of Surah Al-Kahf as well as the commentaries on Ahadith that mention Khidr A.S. They are also found in the discussions of Aqida, for example in Siraj ul-Salik, a commentary on Ashal Al-Masalik.
based on surat al kahf he might just be a prophet, idk where you got your tafsirs from or which sect says this, but it's my first time hearing all of this, also i remember a hadith of the prophet saying everyone on earth in his time would die in a 100 years, idr exactly the hadith, but i can look it up for you, that in itself would defeat your argument of him living up to now, also why didn't he come and help the prophet, the prophet would recognize him pbuh, this seems far-stretched, may allah guide you, and allah knows best.@@SafinaSociety
@chairforce664 khidr (as) has special duties which Allah has assigned him. Just because he didn't come to rasoolullah (saw) is a stupid argument. It's like atheist saying if Allah is all powerful why didn't he defend so and so prophets from harm.
Only difference of opinion I heard regarding khidr (as] is whether it's a rank and thus there been 100s since time began or if its the same one person entire time

Mufti Shafi Uthmani in his tafseer ma'riful qur'an quotes the majority opinion being the khidar a.s. was a Prophet a.s.

My question is how do we know and confirm these things about khidr...
What ayat , what hadith. I respectfully take issue with things like this because one can just simply make such claims about anyone or any shaykh and create almost a whole new religion.
Also people can twist this and use this to start whole sects . The prophet salallahu alayhi wa salaam brought what was necessary for us. There is no need to believe in strange mystical things.
I respect some of these brothers (Safina Society) work but I don't buy all of this stuff about Kidr alayhi salaam . I would warn others to beware of it.
What is the evidence for khidr as being alive
No evidence from the Quraan and sunnah was provided for such claims. The hadith below indicates that the claims you make are false and misleading. Khidr AS was a prophet, a man. How could he still be alive based on the following hadeeth?...
Volume 1, Book 3, Number 116:
Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar:
Once the Prophet led us in the 'Isha' prayer during the last days of his life and after finishing it (the prayer) (with Taslim) he said: "Do you realize (the importance of) this night?" Nobody present on the surface of the earth tonight will be living after the completion of one hundred years from this night."
Ok will try to avoid you as much as possible you have no standing or credentials.

The hadith clearly states no one alive on the surface of the earth will be living after the competition of 100 years. Thus meaning IF Khidr was alive at the time of that statement he would've been dead by now.
So Khidr peace be upon him is an Angel, no?? It's what I've heard before...
It's a weak hadith. There is a debate he is either a prophet or amongst the Saints.
