VANDERSONS! Hey!...here ya go Danny (in Axl Rose voice...butchering Welcome to the Jungle) "You know where you are! You're in the special ketchup aisle baby! You dip your friiieeeessss!" 🤘🍟🤘
During our 6yr Island hopping life the whole grocery store thing was SUPER rare. It was also REALLY expensive because everything was imported to 'whatever' island. So, we had to focus on the little local roadside or beach pop-up shops, a smattering of some very rare stores (same as your - this store sells one thing, this one sells the other and go to this one for that - experience). Outside of the Bahamas, PR, USVI and DR - which would have been very early on - we no longer saw those stores. If we were working for a big time resort and not an individual owner...welp...swipe booze and sh!t from the resort to save money and get needed supplies! Good times!
I dig the damn dam. I live on a lake, well actually not on the lake but on the shoreline, that is similar. It was built to dam a river (Osage) for power in 1929. Though nothing in comparison to that damn dam, the lake it created is about 100 miles from top to bottom. I live at the 73MM (mile marker). The dam is Bagnell, the lake is Lake of the Ozarks. *Doc's DeLorean needed 1.2 Gigawatts of power to travel through time and get Marty McFly Back to the FUTURE!
Graham and SOMBRITA! The thing for me would have to be changing up their food based on what you can get wherever you may be. "Who farted!?!?! SOMBRITA!!!" 'Not me...Graham!'
It looked like a decent park to ride. A bit chunky. That reminds me - the age thing and get hurt. Yup. I can sum up the past 5 1/2 months of my world in one pic. I'll drop PM on the Insta.
Cool stuff! Keep up the great work! Always my best to the four of you! CHEERS! 🥓🍺

Hey there! Thanks for sharing your island hopping grocery store adventures with us. It's amazing how much we take for granted when it comes to having access to a variety of stores and products. And yes, changing up the pets' food can be a challenge but we always try to make sure they get the good stuff.
The dam was definitely a sight to see and we loved learning about its history. And speaking of history, we're huge Back to the Future fans! Doc Brown's DeLorean is definitely a classic, but would barely fit a bed :P
We're glad you enjoyed the skatepark, it was wet but we love a challenge. And we totally agree, age is just a number but injuries can happen to anyone. We'll keep an eye out for your PM on Insta.
Thanks for your support and cheers to you too! 🌱🐾🚐

The second waterfall and most touristic park in Brazil is in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, the southernmost state. The region of this park attracts millions of tourists every year. The city of Gramado, in this region, is the third most touristic city in Brazil. A well-developed region, the region is of German and Italian colonization. The Italian region (city of Bento Gonçalves) is the largest producer of wines and sparkling wines in Brazil.
In the same region there is a set of canyons (city of Cambará do Sul). The largest in Latin America, where South America separated from Africa. It is a very beautiful and special region, it has a fantastic energy.
May you have a good trip through my country.

And as vegans, we're always excited to discover new foods and flavors, so we'll have to try some of the local wine and sparkling wine from Bento Gonçalves. Thank you again for sharing this with us, and we can't wait to experience the fantastic energy of this special region!

You are welcome. This state has a culture similar to that of Argentina. The gaucho culture, where barbecue is the main course, and everyone here drinks mate. The city of Gramado is the second most visited by tourists from all over Brazil. It is a city with many entertainment options, nature, parks and many different cuisines. Mostly German and Italian. It is a city in the mountains, where it is normal to snow in winter. And its architecture is very charming,
      the place is beautiful.
All these places I mentioned are very close to each other.
      Hugs and welcome.

So nice to see your happiness talking about the hydroeletric Dam Itaipu. I went there some years ago and I did the tour inside the dam, I was hoping during this video that you also went inside it, since you like these technical stuff. It is amazing to see how huge it is inside, how huge it is the engines and how strong those walls are when you are inside and hear the force of water. Itaipu dam used to be the biggest one before China opened the Three Gorges Dam.
Also, usually we have a lamen/noddles of the brand Nissin themed with "Turma da Mônica (Mônica's Gang) comic" with Tomato flavor, there are beans flavor too. And farofa is a national brazilian food, you will see it everywhere, and for me it is interesting how farofa is something new for foreigners.

    • @the.vandersons
      @the.vandersons  ปีที่แล้ว

Thank you for sharing your experience at the Itaipu Dam. Going inside the dam sounds like an incredible experience! I love learning about the technical aspects of things and experiencing the power of nature.
I remember seeing the Turma da Mônica noodles in the grocery store and thinking they were so cute and unique! We didn't get a chance to try them out, but now I'm curious about the tomato flavor.
And yes, we've started to love farofa during our travels in Brazil! It's been fun trying new foods and learning about the different culinary traditions in Brazil. Are there any specialties that you would recommend? 🍴🌮🍲

Brazil is so big that I think a trip route around it must be well planned, to visit at least the most famous unique places of all 5 regions, placing the not so famous but very recommended places in between.
If personally suggest a route along the coastline of Brasil, starting from Rio Grande do Sul (with places like cassino beach, the longest beach in the world), and go north all the way until Maranhão (home of Lençóis Maranhenses National Park), leaving the coast sometimes to visit some cool places.
After doing the coastline, from Belém city you can choose to take a boat/plane to visit the Amazon river destinations (like Manaus, Santarém) and after that go south through Brazil's middlelands, to visit the Pantanal region, that's another wildlife sanctuary.
Sorry for the very long comment, its not easy to resume a Brazil trip in short terms 😂. I wish you two have a amazing experience, whichever route you choose!

Another usefull tip is to be aware of Brazil's problem with criminal activity, especially around big capital cities. Always avoid stealth camping near big cities if you can, and if you do, do it in places like truckstops, with some movement.
Most big cities have very cheap parking lots arount the airport (not the airport parking lot, the other ones). Some of then will let you park and stay on the van. But for sure the best option are the paid camping areas.
It's not like someone will rob your tires every time you park the van away from police, but some places are worse than others (Rio...), but it's always better to be safe than sorry. Local people usually knows were is dangerous to stay and will share this information.
Thanks for replying! I hope you two have the best experience.
