I too am glad they didn't drag Simmons' disappearance out any further. Efficient plotting while a lesser show would have dragged it out for a full season. As you say, Ward is really just getting back into Hydra for the resources and manpower to crush SHIELD, but he does have a point how all of Hydra's current leaders are rich elites like Von Strucker without much fighting skill of their own, as is the norm for these kinds of organizations.
Mack has called Daisy "Tremors" before, in your reaction you even said something along the lines of "that's what I'm gonna call her from now on" lol so it was always canon
Tbf there really isn’t fillers in this show Their mostly in s1 but even those I don't think those can be classed as fillers, they introduce new aspects, characters, team building, they just sometimes can feel less important than the average episode sometimes for some people
@@snoshio6043it’s because they actually have good writers on this show lol. Every scene and every episode of a show should be doing more than one thing. The biggest problem with a lot of CW shows is that scene will literally only focus on one thing plot, character, or theme. AOS writers knew that all those things have to happen simultaneously to make a well made and engaging show. So plot informs character, and the two together combine to speak to the themes within the episode or season. We never truly have a filler episode because filler episodes tend to focus on only one aspect of story telling.
Werner von Strucker is a comic book character. Baron von Strucker actually has three kids in the comics, but the other two are X-Men characters, so if you want to see them, you'll have to watch *The Gifted (2017 - 2019).* Not-Blackheart is also a comic book character, so no worries, you'll get his official codename eventually.

Coldson? That's cute. He's still warm and cuddly now. As I'm sure you can imagine, things will get *very* messy. And second episode gets the waterworks started. Literally crying with joy when Fits gets Jemma back, then when she gets out of bed to sit with him.
Your reaction to this episode was great 😅. I enjoyed it so much. I wish you would do 2 episodes a week so you can get to my favorites faster! There are so many good eps this season too 😊
If I were to get a dollar everytime Omn1 gets a prediction wrong during the remaining nearly 4 seasons to go, I'll have a hundred thousand dollars by the time the show is over.
The Asgardian is my favorite side character in AoS, and I’d have loved if they brought him back more. The concept of the character, his lore, and Peter’s hilarious portrayal are amazing
Really liked your reaction to this episode. This is why I like reactions so much. You are able to put in words how I felt when I watched it. Also, eventhough most of the story is moving fast, I have a feeling the Fitz/Simmons love story is goingto take a while before it's concluded
If you've seen Unbreakable the Von Strucker kid played Bruce Willis' son in the movie. Also, Hunter's response to hearing the news is one of the reasons why he's one of my favorite characters haha.
"LOGAN PAUL??" and your 😑 face brought out a loud chortle out of me (and in public too) I also love how James Hong portrays May's father considering they both voice acted in Mulan and James Hong's character was quite an a$$ towards Mulan in that (he voiced the emperor's advisor whose name I can't remember) .
Weird, I remember this arc going differently... but maybe I'm mixing it up with something later, so I won't say more and risk spoilers. But now I'm even more interested in continuing this journey with you to see where I went wrong 😁
Funny you mentioned Logan Paul; Chloe Bennett actually dated him for awhile & unfair as it is, it did effect her perception to many, and was a contributing factor to the dwindling ratings of AOS. That's not hyperbole either, I remember many of her fans/simps arguing about it during the airing and afterbuzztv days ✌😎
I don't think it actually affected ratings in any significant way because it was only chronically online people (like myself lol) who really gave a crap about her dating him
oh my god your reaction to Jemma's rescue scene basically verbalized everything I felt watching it live. I'm dead serious I don't think I have EVER felt that level of physical distress while watching something 😂 I didn't think we would get her back so soon either! The absolute immense relief when Fitz pulled her out of the rubble was insane!
@EclecticMuse4 Same!! The whole show was years of stress, especially anything with Fitzsimmons, I was always scared they were gonna kill one of them. But I loved every minute of it. It's still my favorite show of all time!!!!! 😁
Yeah, they're hired to protect from drunk incidents and occasional kidnapping, definitely not to fight against best S.H.I.E.L.D spy (who is not Avenger)
I love this show, they don't drag things out. In any other show Simmons would have been there all season (or at least until the mid-season finale). And I love how far Fitz is willing to go. Watching you go back and forth in the rescue scene is amazing XD. Also, I love hating Ward too.
Two great under-appreciated guest actors in one episode: the legendary James Hong (whose career goes back to Gary Cooper and saw him finally being honoured with EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE) and Spencer Treat Clark (best known as Bruce Willis's son in UNBREAKABLE and GLASS, but also with roles in GLADIATOR, MYSTIC RIVER and ARLINGTON ROAD).
This show only gets better and better you are in for the "SURPRIZE" of your life. You are so not ready for what's to come. Thank you for your (Priceless) reactions
The way I see it. Ward knows Hydra, even if he doesn't personally believe in what they do. It's why he was able to easily make certain connections and find key people, like the Strucker kid.

This is not a spoiler (More interpretation) but I think it is safe to say that while Ward speaks to his underlings of "Rebuilding HYDRA", his goal is not so much to give HYDRA back it's laurels. Rather, as Ward said at the end of last season, he misses having a team around him and is tired of working alone (Something he got a taste of in season 1, working for Coulson, and now he wants to recreate that the only way he can). Sure, he could have built something from scratch, but that take A LOT of time and A LOT of money! Whereas, with HYDRA, part of the infrastructure is still present and left open for someone who knows where to look to pick it up. So in a way, just like Ward said that HYDRA was "A means to an end" for him and Garrett in season 1, once again HYDRA is now a means to an end for him. Ward speaks of rebuilding HYDRA to the thugs and to other former HYDRA members in order to give them a direction to follow, elicit their loyalty and give them a purpose. I love this episode bc I love James Hong and that guy from Ally McBeal, but someone was asleep on continuity watch when they filmed May talking with her Dad. There are some decorative candles behind the couch that are lit only half the time and it makes me crazy.
One of my favourite episodes from the first half of season three. It's not particularly "flashy" but 3x02 "The Purpose In The Machine" does exemplify the best that AoS has to offer.
Great acting by Brett Dalton. Yes, here we see him as sort of a cookie-cutter villain in many ways. But Brett delivers just perfect style for these scenes.

It wasn't "give up", it was more like "we don't have any clues... so we need you to work on other important stuff in the mean time".
Again fitz is the goat
Ward still doesn't believe in Hydra, he just knows Hydra has a lot of resources he can take advantage of to go after SHIELD.
Unlike the CW shows, AoS consist of more than one story arc in one season. So the pacing is consistently fast, straight to the point and less fillers.
