When they eventually left, they tried refueling in Algeria and ran into bd weather. The Libyan were the one's that decided on their own to land in Port Harcourt, initial plans was for the Libyan team to land at Uyo Airport. Because they refused to pay the tax in Uyo. They had already been on the Air to Uyo before they made that decision to land at Port Harcourt Airport. Dr. Kelechi Onyejide who were on ground to assist them said all these on air. The Libyan are just making things up. Even in Port Harcourt they're never delayed them. After clearance with the Immigration department, they left immediately within 45 minutes to an hour, that's all. And they traveled by road for about 45 miles which took them less than an hour to get to Uyo. I didn't know what CAF will be doing. 1) The players were detained for 3 hours at Lagos airport.
      2) The Libyan team players were not allowed to sit on chairs for those 3 hours, and were forced to sleep on the airport floor.
      3) The Nigerian Football Federation did not send a special bus to receive the teams, and they transported our team in three buses for a distance of 200 kilometers to the city of Uyo, although the Libyan team arrived by private plane, but the Nigerian authorities He insisted on landing at Lagos airport and not Uyo airport, in the city of the match stadium.
      4) The team was subjected to a comprehensive search inside the plane, in addition to a 3-hour delay in transportation between cities, and was prevented from using the private plane.
      5) There was no police patrol for security.
      6) The team buses took unpaved paths in complete darkness, on a five-hour journey through dangerous places.
      7) The team arrived at the hotel late at night, with the reasons for reduced accommodation. It is worth noting that this is not the first time that the Libyan team and the Arab teams have been subjected to such ill-treatment in Africa

The Libyan claim they were maltreated in Nigeria is laughable. They flew in and landed at the wrong airport on their own and were delayed for a couple hours because logistics had to be rearranged. Now they are on a revenge mission by not only intentionally diverting the Nigerian plane to a different airport, but even holding them hostage, at the remote airport for 15 hours denying them food, rest, and training. This is crude, pathetic, and stupid. Libya is showing the rest of the world who they really are.

Just like the current Gaza war in Israel, in which Israelis will like to have everyone believe that it started on October 7th 2023, but they won't admit that they have been abusing Palestinians since 1948 ........ the friction between Nigeria and Libya did not start when the Libyan football team last visited Nigeria. All one has to do is a simple google or TH-cam search and you will find out that hundreds of thousands of Nigerians have been "unalived" in Libya for decades. Indeed Libyans have their prisons full of Nigerians who have been held without trial and they even go as far as openly selling Nigerians into slavery in their country. The point I'm trying to make is the poor treatment and the disrespect started on the Libyan side. Yes, the Nigerian authorities could have hosted the Libyan football team better when they visited but from what we have been informed, the Libyans share some responsibility for their poor their travel arrangements and why things went so badly wrong when they were in Nigeria.
