- Despite ending the season with two wins, reports are that the Los Angeles Lakers will be parting ways with head coach Frank Vogel. LA finished 11th in the West with a 33-49 record. When asked about the report after the game, Vogel said quote, “I haven’t heard bleep”. Vogel and the Lakers won the 2020 NBA Championship in the bubble just two seasons ago. Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe decide what percentage of blame Vogel deserves for this Lakers season.

Look, I’m a Lakers fan since 78, but that championship has the biggest asterisk in NBA history. That season shouldn’t even have been played. Still, Vogel isn’t to blame for this season.

Which is true, Russell didn’t fit with LeBron and company. Hot take, Jason Kidd > Frank Vogel. Losing Kidd was horrible for the Lakers and great for the Mavericks.
Frank had some of the most horrid rotations man. Miss me with the 10%. He benched hbk In the most crucial games down the stretch. He deserves at least 25%. No offensive sets,. Russ was horrible for 90% of the season. He was good for a month and now he's being scapegoated? The front office deserves 75,% of the blame.

Russ played poorly all season, AD missed way too much time on the floor, and LeBron seemed to have checked, trying to get to that all-time scoring spot as quickly as he can, in my opinion.
And the roster is poorly put together.

As a life-long Lakers fan, this season has just been awful. I'm happy the season is over. I'm sad Coach Vogel is losing his job but this comes with major sports. I appreciate his coaching us to a title. I think this off-season is one of the most important off-seasons in team history. That is mainly because this season has been the most disappointing in franchise history. I believe every player on the roster, outside of LeBron James, should be game for quality trades or transactions to make the Lakers a better basketball team. I have no issue letting go Anthony Davis because he's always hurt, availability is an ability. Period. I pray Ms. Buss and company right this this ship but I am not too confident in that. I'm hoping though

As a die hard lakers fan, I don't like the way the handled Vogel's firing
This season wasn't Vogel's fault, he didn't put this team together. This whole debacle starts with management and and includes LBJ. The old team they built, not letting Westbrook play his way, and banking on AD to stay healthy were all huge gambles, and all huge losses.
Russ playstyle and LBJ don't mix. Russ should have never been brought in period
To Sharpe's point, this is why I absolutely love Kobe. When he was injured on the sidelines you would never see him looking like he just left the set of a rap video shoot. Just a consummate professional always setting the standard for others around him. When I think of AD this past season all I see in my head is him on the bench in balenciaga sweatshirts and ridiculous jewelry.
