For me, eto rule of thumbs ko: For posters: there are no stupid questions, but there are lazy questions. If you want to get better answers, show what you’ve tried. Sooner or later, you’ll need guidance yourself. Might as well put something in the karma bank so that when you seek guidance yourself, somebody will go out of their way to help you
It's so great I stumbled upon your channel! Thank you, kind sir! Way back in 2010ish, I started developing desktop applications. I was pumped and hyped because I found it fun. Sobrang dami kong tanong about programming back then, but there was this one guy on the internet who answered one of my questions in a blunt and kinda harsh way.. After non, I got discouraged and hesitated to ask for help again. From time to time I'm doing "self-learn". But man! iba pa rin ang may community. Salamat sa encouragement Kuya Dev!
As a career-shifter na wala pang experience working as dev, eto yung isa sa medyo kinakatakutan ko 😅 I have 11 years of work experience sa ibang industries pero bago talaga ko sa dev. This is really insightful Kuya Dev. Thanks! 🎉 Will be watching your other videos especially yung sa asking better questions.
you got my respect Kuya lahat hindi lang meaningful sinabi kundi emphatetic pa specially on how i positively see he treats not only for developer community but for all humanity..bravo subscribed nako.. naka kuha kami inspiration and insight kung paano maging makatao sa iyong community or to surrounding people
For example, sa culinary nga lang, nung bago ako, I asked a question kung nasasn yung ice cream. Sagot niya cloud computing kami pare, I can refer someone else. Now, years later, I realize na napaka gago ng tanong ko. Hahahahaha.
Summary: If you feel to answer, Answer their question directly and give some points and resources. If hindi mo feel sagutin (maybe paulit ulit at you feel tired answering those questions ng maraming beses na), then wag mo lang sagutin.
This is one of the reasons why hindi na ako nagppost ng question sa sikat na dev group sa FB. And nakakatawa kasi coincidentally may napanood akong video na akmang-akma rito. Siguro kayo you took matters on your own pero just because kinaya niyo e wag niyo gawing requirement na dapat pagdaan rin ng juniors ang hardships niyo. Oo, challenges are good to improve pero sana hindi kayo yung mismong challenge sa juniors niyo.
Yeah, kahit sa beginners andyan din yan. May superiority complex na gusto sagutin agad sila ng mga tao, ayaw na nila ng guide to resources or any type of guide. Ginagawa nilang stackoverflow mga communities eh. Yung pangit rin kasi is walang voting system ang mga posts and comments sa facebook, kaya mas madali mag gain traction mga repeatitive questions like "bakit di to gumagana". Pareho mali yung nagtatanong tsaka nagsasagot eh. Siguro the best answer would be a google search link to a stack overflow answer. Mahirap din kasi ituro kung pano mag google, kasi it comes with experience, sometimes you search the literal error message and sometimes you need to paraphrase it to get a certain result. Isa din yan na problem with filipinos especially newbies, english is not their strong point, kaya di talaga papabor sa kanila ang google results.
grabee sobrang relate dito bossing! na experience ko ito before nag try akong mag tanong sa kakilala kong Snr dev.. ang sagot sakin ' i search mo ' :D. after non di na ako nag tatanong sa mga kakilala kong alam kong magagaling hahaha nag chat gpt na lng ako
As a person currently trying to learn web development na wala talagang alam, totoo yung sabi niyo sir.natatakot magtanong yung mga bago.keep promoting this kind of culture.more power to you sir.❤
I aspire for a day when everyone feels safe and motivated to ask and answer questions. And everyone helps one another get better at asking and answering questions. 🙏

I experienced this first hand 3years in corp tech palang siguro ko nito. Other devs will shame you and laugh at you lalo na kung alam nilang parang i basic ng question. There are two sickness lang sa pagiging Dev for me it is impostor syndrome and superiority complex. My advice to fellow Devs na nakaka ranas nito is keep pushing kahit ngayon mahirap e gets yung tech stack or language their will become a time na magiging gets mo din. Also avoid surface knowledge laging alamin kung ano yung ginagawa behind the hoods. Ayun lang. Sorry sa rant, Just a shame lang no matter your experience we don't have to shame others kasi same nila nag simula din lahat ng senior sa HELLO WORLD!!!
How would you answer? Let's say sabihin niya he did okay tulongan. Pero paano sa mga hindi ? This could be part of spoon feeding. How to politely sa na do your own research first. Wahehehehe
Kung face to face ba nag tanong yung tao ganyan din isasagot mo? hehe, Majority naman sa atin willing tayo sumagot politely at baka kumikislap pa mata natin kasi meron ibang taong interesado matuto sa ginagawa natin.
"Great question. May I ask what things have you already done? Or kung ano na naiintindihan mo? So that I'd know how to guide you better." 😁 Pag ang sagot niya wala pa... "Okay read up first on [give topics/keywords], then come back to me with which concepts make sense and which don't make sense."
