Yeah! Thx for that comment 🤩 that’s exactly what I’m trying to replicate! Check out my other videos and you’ll hear more and better versions of this ☺️☘️
Thanks mate, I bought a Blue Rocket after watching you but to scared to play because of the cost but will check out the link, thanks for swift reply as I no you must be very busy xxxx
Fantastic talent ! Like your style. I’m in Ireland. Where can I buy one of these Rocket low D master value series harmonica. I did not find it in their website, or has it been replaced??
I ordered that exact harmonica after seeing this video. It doesn't even sound like the same instrument when I try to play. I think he must be lip syncing along to an accordion CD!
Your harmonica playing is amazing mate so I thought I would ask the best person for a simple answer, if I want to play the likes of Morrisons Em or Drowsy Maggie what key harp should I use xxx
Thank you ☺️🙏🏻 For that you would need a Low-D harmonica, I would highly recommend you to check out this course: harmonica-school-berlin.com/product/irish-harmonica-complete-course/ Both tunes that you mention requires some pretty advanced techniques ☺️🎶
I'm thinking about attempting to learning to play Irish music on harmonica. In your opinion what tuning is most useful for this type of music, Paddy Richter, Melody Maker, Country , solo, or Richter. I have played solo tuning a lot in the past. I have a melody Maker and an Orchestra S in solo.
It’s a fantastic music style for the harmonica ☺️ my online course is based on regular richter tuned harmonicas in G & Low-D, check it out: harmonica-school-berlin.com/video-courses/
How hard is to learn the harmonica for beginner for Irish jigs and reels in d&g and would you need 2 different key harmonicas for each key of tune depending on the notes👍
It takes some practice to get it going, but everything is possible 😊 I will be together with Harmonica School Berlin launching an online platform this summer where you can learn Irish music on harmonica. Yes you would need harmonicas in different keys and sometimes different tunings 😊
Yes that's a possibility, I have a low D in Seydel, Silver (stainless) and the low keys sound very unclear and heavy, whereas yours sounds very light and clear...obviously I'm taking into account that you are an excellent player so you make it sound it good...
nodgelyobo1 The Harmonica I play is a customized harmonica, and that is one of the biggest difference, you’ll get much better response and higher volume.
.....WOW!!!! I wish you might consider doing a few more videos, breaking down some of the bars of this tune, or similar tunes, and demo just what some of the "licks" are, and how to get them to work together, to use in similar tunes. For me, I can play simple tunes, and bend most of the lower notes, but, I find it hard to follow what's going on, when things go so fast. Once I can put all of the "pieces" together, then I can comprehend the entire picture. Thanks, for great demos!!!! You've achieved some truly Great skills!!!
guloguloguy a game changer for me was discovering that if you click the three dots in the upper right corner of the video you can play it at half speed or even at 26 percent which enabled me to write down the tab. So cool... I never knew you could do that until a week ago. So now learning this is actually doable !!!!!!
No, I have a c and it's not great for playing Irish music. Especially with others. most irish traditional tunes are in D or G and sometimes A. I'm getting a D which covers a lot.
I would never have thought jigs and reels could be so masterfully played on a harmonica. That’s outstanding.
Thank you! It’s a great instrument for Irish trad. ☘️🎶
This is stunning!.. Sounds like a violin married to an accordeon!
Yeah! Thx for that comment 🤩 that’s exactly what I’m trying to replicate! Check out my other videos and you’ll hear more and better versions of this ☺️☘️

I ordered that exact harmonica after seeing this video. It doesn't even sound like the same instrument when I try to play. I think he must be lip syncing along to an accordion CD!
He said at the start this one is custom tuned, paddy richter most likely.

Paddy tuning is special tuned for irish music.
Wow 😶
What are the songs called in this video?
I like Irish music, would like to learn to play with diatonic harmonica
Any special tuning is required for playing Irish music?

Hi
Do you have the tab for the first Irish tune?
Thank you very much 😁👍
It's known as Cooley's Reel.
Hey Joel...is the Low D you are using half-valved and Paddy tuned?
nodgelyobo1 Standard richter and non valved, but I can build you one according to your specs. www.jaharmonicas.com
Yes that's a possibility, I have a low D in Seydel, Silver (stainless) and the low keys sound very unclear and heavy, whereas yours sounds very light and clear...obviously I'm taking into account that you are an excellent player so you make it sound it good...

quick question Joel, what was the name of the first tune you were playing?..
nodgelyobo1 cooleys reel 😊
Is that harp in "Standard" diatonic tuning?!..... (in the "Major" scale, Low "D")?!...
Yes, I just bought a low D rocket and it works great. Learning his 1st song now.
.....WOW!!!! Yes sir! There is an online platform coming up for this in early summer, will be published through the Harmonica School Berlin 🤩🎶
@@irishharmonica excellent will look forward to it . Great skills 👌
What song is that in the beginning of that video
It's a traditional Irish reel, often known as "Cooley's Reel".
The second tune was "Harvest Home."
Titre de la musique du début ?
I have in key c is that ok?
No, I have a c and it's not great for playing Irish music. Especially with others. most irish traditional tunes are in D or G and sometimes A. I'm getting a D which covers a lot.
Is a G ok for irsh music'?
Oh yes! It’s great for G major and A minor tunes, I use it all the time ☺️🎶
@@irishharmonica thanks .im just beginning harmonica journey
what tuning is it?
Kevin o'brien regular Richter tuning 😊
@@irishharmonica I looked up this tuning but what key is it ? A low d ? Ok can you explain to me because this tuning says they are in key of c ?
@@jungleninja8415 The first tune is in E Dorian and played on a Low D harmonica with regular Richter tuning.
When do u breathe?
Will Not - Some notes are sound on the inhale, other notes sound on the exhale. :-)
During lunch :)
This is how you thought 6 years ago Joel...
Still think the same?
More or less, out of the box the Rocket is great compared to other harmonicas😊
and what is he promoting now?
I can't play your video...
