Wow that was a nice smallmouth I love the fight they give. I go for them every august upstate on a River for many years now I have seen every size and boy that one you got was big ! Very cool.
Hi Jerry, Now that was a BIG Small Mouth! And the Crappie was BIG too. That tube jig really worked well today. You planned that right. I have to admit that Pickerel are one of my favorite freshwater fish. They are like a small Barracuda. The Small Mouth Bass fights so much harder than a Large Mouth. That lake seems to have a lot of good fish. Nice to see you out in the boat again. Take care and good luck, Mickey
Hi Mickey it was a last minute move so glad I took the time to pull some out! I had a few nice 3-4 pound pickerel they were hanging around with the bass! Thanks always Mickey!
When those tube jigs first came out, I was like no way they have no action. Wrong again. I got some 3/4 ounce insert weights from Gitzit (their biggest size). Coupled with a pearl or white tube kills the fluke in slower inshore water.
Hey Chris thanks! yea the crappie was just over 17 I was being generous, the smallmouth I was being conservative, I would say was at least 22" may be more, when I was holding it along my arm seemed like it nearly came up to my shoulder! To fired up to remember to measure!

Gitzit! have not heard that in a long time! I could so see that with the flukes! Thanks for sharing Scott!!! Good stuff!
If the crappie was over 16, that bass most have been over 20 inches.
