    For anyone that cares haha, I live in NY and it gets HUMID here. I just got the Coolify 2 and tested it out today. So the Temperature in NYC was 95 with 44% humidity, it felt like about 105 outside. I could still feel the the cool plates somewhat but the fans were just kicking the humid air into my neck. It works nicely indoors, but in my Opinion it doesn't handle 90s and higher humid Temperature. For a moment I thought that I was walking through an area were hot air was being released through some vents until I took off the coolify. My buddy has these as well....he says it definitely keeps him cool in this muggy NY weather....I think the reason may be because he sweats waaaayyy more that I do, air hitting sweat cools you down. I think that's why it works better for him, cause he sweats. Just an observation

      Lol I literally basically just commented the same thing, I'm from Long Island and was shocked at how dissappointing this was...everyone seems to be enjoying it so I thought maybe it was a bad one; I ordered a replacement and already sent it back for a refund. It only works as expected indoors...where its already cool, and thats not the point, sigh. I had a 30 dollar fan and it was pretty much the same thing, so I don't see the point in paying extra for cooling if it doesnt blow cool air; the cooling part is just the playes getting cool but you can barely notice cool air being blown when you put your hand near it; I think they are playing with the term "Air conditioner "

    I just ordered my second one (Coolify 2) ....because I wanted the first one replaced due to me being in denial that it was that weak of a device compared to what I expected; I thought it was deffective.
    -I got the slightly more expensive one that offers more battery life.
    -The cooling levels and fan levlels do not appear to work independently (I thought you would be able to have cooling level 2 with fan level 3, but it seems that you can only have the same level both at a time i.e cooling 1 with fan 1).
    -That didn't bother me too much because I didn't care about battery life at that point, I just wanted relief from the heat I was working in (low to mid 90s). The fan itself in my opinion is weak outdoors to the point that the levels don't matter because you will NEED to have it on the highest setting, unless you are inside.
    -The plates instantly cool but after a couple minutes you won't notice it. It doesn't (or to be safe, BARELY, blow cool air). There are $30 wearable fans that you are probably better off buying, because the cooling aspec you think you are getting does not match this price at all.
    -I would only recommend this to people indoors, as thats when I felt it working the best, when there was A/C inddors for it to blow around. The cooling pads also get noticably cooler in an indoor environment that is cool to begin with.However, any wearable fan would work in that case; I don't think the people interested in this are getting it to use indoors (lol).
    -I would also reccommend this if your main interested is in the heating...I only tried the heating once out of curiousity and it gets hot, like, I counld't keep it on my skin after several second...i coul ssee this being usefull in the winter time even if I just want to warm my hands while I'm waiting for the bus. Again, I doubt anyone interested in this are mainoly interested in using this in any environment other than a hot one--outdoors especially.
    -I read/watched many reviews and im shocked at the quality, maybe this isn't a popular type of product so there isn't much to base this off, but i've tried a 30 fan and I can't justify the price difference. This one feels and looks more expensive, but its just not worth it. I'll have to wait till something better comes along, or do more research...I just can't understand why this has so many positive reviews on amazon and youtube.

      As for me I mainly use the device in a 80-90 degree shop and it feels awesome.

    23:20 - EVERY SINGLE TIME I take my cooler off my neck and offer it to a friend to try they stick it on their head like a pair of headphones.
    Every. Single. Time.
    🤦🏻‍♂
    15:40 - "cooling your whole body" I think that maybe they mean the plated will cool the blood in your arteries, lowering your whole body temp. I guess it's possible.

  • @herbfloggins1086
    @herbfloggins1086 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What no one mentions is carotid arteries are on either side of the neck, so cooling those makes a big difference.

  • @mariusvanc
    @mariusvanc 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Peltier effect coolers, aside from being horrifically energy inefficient, generate a lot of heat that needs to be dissipated. So while the cool plate in contact with your skin will give you a cooling effect, where does the heat go? If it's through the little vents on the sides, it'll go directly into your cheeks/ears and up the sides of your head, and heat up your shoulders where the device is in direct contact with.

    • @misssummersalt
      @misssummersalt 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a non-branded Peltier effect neck cooler which has just one cooling plate at the back of the unit. When you turn the Peltier function on it activates a little exhaust fan that vents the hot air right out the back of the unit. It's fantastic. I'm curious to see how that heat dissipation is taken care of with the Coolify models (if it is taken care of at all...).

      @@pachicleto2129 absolutely. The coolify comes with me everywhere. Work, the beach, the OC fair, the Getty museum, etc. I just wish the battery lasted longer when the plates are on, I clocked it at 5 hrs running the plates on medium. So if you’re out all day just be aware. But without the plates the fans can last all day. I’m choosy when to use the plates, I usually have to be sweating, but it works fantastically. The fans are relatively quiet for the amount of air they blow. People always assume they’re head phones, however when I let them try it on, they’re amazed at the difference a little neck fan action can do, it makes a solid difference, when everyone’s hot in the crowd you can be the boogie one with a neck air conditioner. It is a bit pricey, but a worthy investment. Also if you sign up for the Amazon credit card and are accepted. They give you a complimentary $200 to spend, so that’s what I did, and they ended up being free. Hopefully this could work for you as well and I hope you found all this helpful.

    I was actually thinking about getting this until you said it only gets 1.5 hours the cooling mode. That’s less than the last version. That’s a major disappointment for a more expensive version. I’m in Florida and go to the theme parks often. I would be walking around with a dead product around my neck longer than it working. Can’t justify spending that kind of money for 1.5 hours.
