0:20 love this moment, truly shows their "sisterhood" bond with Nat being snarky with that comment and Yelena chuckling a bit lol. The acting in that bit feels so genuine.
Easily one of the best fight scenes in a modern movie. No shaky cam, clear shots, there's weight to the fight and substance with how they damage each other, it's not weightless. Really brilliant.
It’s certainly not the worst but you definitely need to watch some martial arts films. This is a pretty mainstream average amount of cuts. I mean Shang Chi exists in the MCU and those fights are many tiers above this in all the ways.
Agreed, and Natasha has more experience and was one of if not THE star pupil from the Red Room program. I don't think she was even trying to kill Yelena.
I love the atmosphere that was set up for this scene. The train, walking in the crowd, the gloomy safe house, the emotional panic she has as she’s going up the elevator, and then when they come face to face with each other, both are in a powerless and fearful position as individuals completely on the run and not trusting anyone. (Yelena just broke free from the red room so now they’re after her, Natasha is a global fugitive whom Ross is trying desperately to get) Yelena has no idea what to do because she’s alone. She’s been controlled her whole life and she’s finally free, she’s basically paranoid and can’t trust anyone, not to mention they haven’t seen each other in 21 years. Then Natasha almost got killed by taskmaster who was trying to get the vials that yelena sent her. Then when none of them choose to drop the gun they engage each other. Natasha pins yelena down and she feels helpless so when she finally breaks free she grabs the knife because she thinks Natasha is an enemy now. In the beginning in Yelena’s head she was fighting for survival. So when the fight ended and Natasha called truce, then she knew Natasha did not have killer intent (the way she looked at her hand at 1:51 ). Well that’s what I got from this fight scene, the director said this was their way of communicating so that too.
Surprised she even lasted that long against the famous black widow THERES not many who do so I see what that sick fucker did to make sure nat had a second replacement
0:42 This is the moment you *know* Natasha was holding Back, she could've easily won, specially being the big sister and having superhuman enhancments, besides, it could have taken her one second to switch her hand to her throat, but she didn't, AND she insisted "Stay down" but yelena didn't, and that's when Yelena took the knife
@@VictorMartinez-en8zreverything Natasha has been through, her having some type of enhancement makes sense. I mean Tony and Steve have taken more damage in a fight than her.
@@latishabuckner8231 Makes sense, except there's nothing in what the MCU has shown us to make us believe she was enhanced. The Red Room is depicted as nothing more exotic than intensive physical and mental training and conditioning from childhood. And Tony is just a fit human under that mental suit, while Steve has been seriously injured only by other superhumans.
It still trips me out that at the end of Infinity War, Natasha doesn't look like she has a hair out of place, let alone having just fought aggressive alien space creatures.
i love how in many action movies, guns in the face are fun. the 'hero' and 'enemy' are steady but the second the other grabs the gun, it's all out surivval!! LOL
This is why I love Marvel. Their fight scenes are a lot better than actual fighting movies scenes. No fight scene in aforementioned movies had made me feel this tense watching it.

Not sure we’re watching the same scene. There are way too many quick cuts-no time for a real sequence to develop.

When both siblings are trained combatants.

exactly. thor/loki and nebula/gamora would understand this.
