He says it keeps it interesting & shows their Stray Kids genre colors.. You can really tell their flair/flavor in the song when it 'Sounds like' a SKZ song. They said that this was 'featuring' NSYNC, so they included them singing their portion of the song while SKZ did their part. Since Chan and V arrangement honored them, they were able to seamlessly switch up and factor in the bye-bye-bye instrumentals chorus. You did catch onto it earlier then most people during the dance break. Heard that Stay are calling this the Chk Chk Bye-Bye-Bye stage version. or Chk Bye-Bye-Boom...🖖🏽😁

Ahh okay that's pretty cool, love that the referenced then album name in the performance & it's really cool that Stray Kids made reference to all of that as apart of their performance
Their performance was a tribute to Boy Bands as the AMA’s were celebrating its 50th anniversary. It was fitting for Stray Kids as they are arguably the biggest boy band presently. A round of applause for them because dancing that hard and still singing vocals clearly is a testament to their breathing control.
I think some others have said but the reason for doing an old boyband song is that the ask was to pay homage to the history of boybands so in that context I think the choice of bye bye bye was a good nod to their deadpool connection as well as hitting the brief. I felt that they also balanced paying proper respects to the original bye bye bye whilst working in their work really well.
Agreed, I felt like they paid homage to a group that came earlier well while didn't feel like they were stepping on toes because they also had A LOT of their own stray kids feel in there
They were introduced by a member of NSYNC and one from Backstreet Boys, so at least one of them was there. And they've posted it on NSYNC's insta and everything, they seem to have loved it.

NSYNC is from a time where fandoms hadnt names 😊 but yes the strings are from there live performance at AMA and from the MV Stray kids took the best parts from the MV, choreo and music to mash it up with chk chk boom. Just want to jump in here and say that most big pop act's fans have a fandom name, you can find a list of hundreds of them if you go searching. Here is a list of many (but not all) of them en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fandom_names Also fandom names were absolutely a thing in 2000, less popular than today for sure but they were a thing; I mean The Beatles had Beatlemania back in the 60s, Trekkies/Trekkers (Star Trek fans) have been active since the early 70s etc. Anyways thanks for watching!

Finally!!! I've been watching different reaction videos and been waiting for them to notice how they mixed the 2 songs together with the ByeByeBye under the Stray Kids track ...but you caught it from the get go!!
As someone who is old enough to have watched both NSYNC and SKZ live, the boys did amazing! I would have died had NSYNC joined them on stage, but man we've been asking them to tour again and they can't get themselves together for that! I also think this song is 24 years old and NSYNC were in their 20s when they did this originally, they may be a bit too old to dance on SKZ level. Buuuttttt, it would have been the most iconic to ever happen if they did come out.

With the microphone thing, all of them except Felix moved to handheld mics for the quality, I can’t remember when but Felix said he actually prefers the headset for having hands free, but that mic is ON. You can hear him loud and clear. SKZ are one of the main groups showing that kpop isn’t just looks and flash, but these are actual artists and musicians.
I can't say for certain, but I would be good money that Deadpool & Wolverine did have something to do with the decision to mash these two up. There's the obvious use of Bye Bye Bye in the D&W opening, and both Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds are featured in the Chk Chk Boom M/V as Wolverine and Deadpool even though that wasn't the song intended for the movie itself (which strikes me as bizarre because I don't think you can get more Deadpool than Chk Chk Boom but I'm a baby Stay and still learning so who knows XD). That, combined with the fact that all of the AMA performances were tributes to the music eras and this was absolutely a Then and Now performance vibe, to me makes it make a lot more sense as to why they chose these two. Also Lance Bass was at the AMAs, he and AJ Mclean (from Backstreet Boys) did the introduction for Stray Kids. I don't know about the others, but I would not be surprised at all if N*SYNC themselves had something to do with why they weren't more involved in the physical aspect of the show. Unlike BDB they very rarely perform together anymore, and I think Justin Timberlake is actually on tour at the moment(?). Then again so are SKZ and they still worked around this so what do I know? XD I'm just a fan with a lot of random information and thoughts.

Maybe it was the location or just a decision they made. I love Stray Kids Performances. So clean, so beautiful! If they make mistakes that's awesome by me, just shows that they're truly live. There are some clips of Han singing his verses in a different language by mistake, floating around. I can try to find it for you if you want :) As a Nsync fan, or former...whatever... LoL Yep. It sounds like they did mash them together. It's so subtle in the beginning. The backup dancers' outfits would fit the Nsync theme :D WOW! They even got a finger clap! LoL

They did the performance to celebrate boy bands for the 50yrs Celebration and Nsync was chosen for them to perform with their song CHKCHK BOOM. 3RACHA has always performed with a Microphone but over the years Lee Know, Hyunjin, Seungmin and IN started also using it. Felix will use the the microphone sometimes but normally he uses the mouth piece one (sorry don't know the name)
I thought N'Sync was going to perform too....probably saw Stray Kids energy and was like ..nah lol! The puppet strings were from the M/V I heard it was so I went and watched it and yes.... and LET'S NOT EVEN GO THERE ABOUT SLASH NOT BEING FEATURED IN THE MOVIE. One of my biggest disappointments from 2024 easily. Even if you have no clue to who Stray Kids are....how do you not hear that song immediately brain relate it to the movie?
