Have a friend who has this concert on DVD. Playing it on his big screen and surround sound system you feel like you’re there. I saw them twice. Once in the 70’s again in the 80’s. Love Pink Floyd since 69 with their album, Ummagumma.
When Guy Pratt went for his Audition for the Floyd tour, David said "I know you can play the bass, but can you sing on Run like Hell, Guy sang it and got the job.
Back in the day no band put on a live performance like Floyd! Hats off to Pratt for using a 4 string bass, I'm old enough to remember when ALL basses were 4 string. Being a guitar player I have a bass of course, one bass, that's all a guitarist needs, lol. It's a 1978 Fender Musicmaster bass that I bought new in 79, yeah I'm old. Check out "High Hopes" and "Sorrow" from the same 1994 Pulse Concert, phenomenal performances!
Mark Brinkman lighting director, who did all P.F. lighting after the "Wall" and Dave's 2 solo tours. Saw this 5 times, Eral's court was 14 days in a row sold our. 200,000 watts of power (3 power trucks outside) 1 stage beginning broke down, 1 stage for performance, 1 stage being built, 53 semi's to move, 200 tons, 128 wireless speakers, outside shows needed FAA clearance for lasers. Greg Phillinganes ( MJ music dir) said they are at a different level. Greg played with Dave on his last solo tour. "Live at Pompeii 2016"
Just a correction. Gilmore said the lights were not automated and they didn't use any type of code generation for syncing. All manually triggered. And Guy Pratt was married to Wrights daughter.
This is one or 5 songs that Pink Floyd can play after Roger left the band with all the rights to the "Wall" "Pulse" 14 days in a row sold out and their last 200,000 watts of power, outdoor needed FAA clearance do to lasers. The only time people stand and you never want front row seat. Saw this 5 times
This isn't a song I have much affection for, although it does provide some much needed energy to the live show and it's enjoyable in that context. I happened to be behind the lighting desk at a Rush concert one time, and, while a lot of the lights were computer controlled, there was also a live board where two guys were moving faders and controlling lights in real time as well. I remember back in the 1980's bands would have fireworks and flamethrowers on stage, Dio in particular comes to mind, even in theatres, but that did all come to a stop at a certain point.

And THAT is how you finish one of the best concerts ever known to man. ❤

I was at this show 25/10/1994
Still the best gig ever.
Was an indoor arena called Earls Court, London 👍🤟
Me too, absolutely unbelievable and unbeatable. 🤯🤘
This was in 1994 and this show is unmatched since.

Gary Clanton was the kid with the tshirt with the number on it playing backup guitar in the live in Pompeii performance from 1974

Right on. Thanks for sharing.
Guys base is awesome .

This concert is 30 years old. Holds up pretty well, I think. Not a bad tune played. Plus, this tour included the entire DSOTM performance.
Emirates have this show on their in flight entertainment now. I'd say it's holding up.
Fun fact .. Guy Pratt was in Pink Floyd for longer than Roger Waters! ... and he still plays in Nick Mason's band
I highly recommend Sorrow from this.
3 amazing guitar solos
We tried and it got blocked - but thank you! We'll keep trying. -G
Any chance of doing, Take It Back? All the best from the far north of New Zealand.
Buckle up!
Guy Pratt hosts a great rock based podcast called Rockonteurs. Well worth a listen for insights into the rock world.
Thanks, I'll look for it! - G
Thar was the greatest rock show in history.
Sorry, 1971
Guy Pratt married Richard Wrights daughter; Gala.
