- In this episode, I discuss the latest news and notes for the South Carolina Women's Basketball team. I also discuss Adhel Tac enrolling early to the South Carolina Women's Basketball team. The team is led by legendary head coach Dawn Staley. The team boasts a starting lineup of Raven Johnson, Te-Hina Paopao, Bree Hall, Chloe Kitts, and Kamilla Cardoso. The bench mob is led by MiLaysia Fulwiley, Ashlyn Watkins, and Tessa Johnson.

I am so Happy that she has enrolled. That means Molly can start working with her on a program. Molly is great at what she does and so important to our program. I hope we never loose her but that’s me being selfish

I wouldn’t be mad if now that Tac is here early, SC medical staff can do their own evaluation/tests and If need be, if she has to have “clean-up” surgery, so be it- let her get it now, rehab w/Molly and even if she has to redshirt, I’m cool with it 🤷🏽♀️ Our front court is still stacked even with the departure of Kamilla because I believe Kema is coming back too, and she will be better next year with a year of experience in our program 😏

Great show Capt. Will! Adehl has made this best decision she could've made by getting the best training staff and an inside look at what it's going to take to compete next year. Plus she can possibly work on some grad courses by her senior year. I wonder if she'll get rings this year with the team?!

Rings? Unless they get that team freethrow percentage to 70 or higher and consistent PG play, you can cancel all calls to the jeweler. Not only that, but playing a top 10 team with two or more solid scorers might also be catastrophic. They have already struggled with just one on several occasions, and only NDU was top 10. They all had 6' 2" post players. Hidalgo lit them up for 31 in her first game as a true freshman, Shyanne Sellers had 21 and Pili dropped her career high of 37. East Carolina had great midrange and 3 point looks all day; they just couldn't hit the bed of a pickup truck. If a team like LSU is on, they fit the bill. I don't wish it, but that's just how it is. †
@@Mr..G Great takes! I think a tough SEC schedule will prepare them for the Championship 🏆 in the LAND! The funny thing is the majority of the post players shoot most of the free throws and none have displayed a soft touch yet... They have time to get it right.
@@jamesjones7638 I'm not so sure how hard the SEC grind will be this season since it is down significantly from it's norm. Until Texas A&M's recent addition, only the Gamecocks and LSU were even ranked in the top 25. Other than maybe LSU, they've probably faced tougher competition outside the SEC, e.g., UNC, Duke and Utah, but we will see. As you said, they have time to get it right. †

We need to put forth a diligent effort in getting a quality big through the portal. Adhel is somewhat raw to begin with, and this latest injury is her second setback in as many years. Sakima is not the answer, and Ashlyn is not a true 5 or a reliable scorer. Te-Hina is a vital cog in the wheel, and she is going to give us theee buckets behind the ark, but Kamilla is the X factor. She is an intimidating presence on both sides of the ball and her rebounding can't be understated; no other player gives us all that. When she's on the bench it's more telling than any other player. The Gamecocks have never won an NCAA title without a dominating big. That theme will continue next season without a significant find through the portal. We might get next year, the team many were expecting to see this year. Also, mark it down-baring injury, Maddie will end her career as a noticably better PG than Raven, and it won't even be close. †

First I think it was a great decision to enroll early simply to get herself healthy. Second o don't anyone should be putting expectations on her as far as next season. I like Will and his love for the gamecocks but sometimes he be talking out his tail
Facts on top of facts! I take a lot of heat for keeping it real and not having unrealistic expectations, but I haven't been wrong yet and certainly don't mind the heat. Adhel has only played two full seasons of high school basketball, and by her own admission, she started her career somewhat late. She even said that she wasn't thinking much about playing in college. She is still somewhat raw, so expectations should be tempered.
SC has never won a title of any kind without a dominant big. Unless we get a quality one through the portal for next season, it might not go so well. Sakima is not the one, and Ashlyn is not a true 5 and has limited scoring ability. Imagine next season without Kamilla or Te-Hina. Kamilla is our leading scorer, rebounder and shot blocker, and in the game Te-Hina missed, SC went 0-12 from three. We know she is always good for 3 or 4 from behind the arc. Those two are a lot to replace. †
