Never heard of this, but: * main character is a bad-ass female warrior * setting is a fantasy world * plot is a revenge story * clear influences of movies like "Conan The Barbarian" * clear influences of games such as "Golden Axe", "Rastan" and "Fantasm Soldier Valis" * cinematic cutscenes * gameplay looks allright * very decent graphic and music In other words, back in the days this would be a "shup up and take my money" kind of game for me. Thanks for uploading.
I have never heard of this game but it looks like a solid title! I like most of the music and the graphics are decent. A little repetitive but very common for games of the time frame. Looks pretty fun too!
@@piratesephiroth Today absolutely. However putting myself in an age where games were a 50/50 chance of decent controls and pour hit detection... this looks above average
@@piratesephiroth Looks like Castlevania to me, even has the slower pace of a castlevania game. I played it before though & it really is kinda bad. Mainly because it's so damn hard. He made it look easy. I can't even get past the damn 2nd level.
I could be wrong, but, I believe this game is supposed to be another version of the El Viento trilogy of games, also from 1991. Dahna is a girl born with elemental powers, just like Annet Myers, and her belts have the same red and white triangle patterns as Annet's ribbons and the edges of her clothing, over white garments. Possibly, Dahna is an ancestor of Annet, and Regine an ancestor of Restiana?
Very interesting game. The combat is fair (no touch damage) yet overwhelming due to numbers. I felt like the music was an afterthought, passable without being distracting, until they pulled out the stops near the end.
This game brings me memories. On a weekend (back in the 90s), my friend and I had an idea of renting only games with female protagonists and beating all of them. We had Valis III, El Viento, Alisia Dragoon and Danna. This one was the toughest for us, specially because it was in Japanese 😅 But we did it 💪
What a blast from the past.. this was a JP only game but friend had it translated on his laptop in his giant rom collection. Sure its Golden Axe-ish but was a really take on it. warrior women rock
A little bit of Rastan, a little bit of the Actraiser action sequences, a tiny bit of Valis, and you've got a pretty neat action platformer. Even slight touches of Strider in terms of the gameplay and controls.
Overrated game because of it's cool box art, and art direction, but the gameplay is meh, and fornsome reason thr music is lover by nerds these days, hmm. It's just mediocre.
0:24 that image of Dahna is undoubtedly based on Aleena (the D&D character). I love seeing the inspirations for these games. The devs were really on the same wavelength as gamers back then.
naawww bro, this game ROCKS. Its never repetitive, it always adds elements to the gameplay, and the plot is awesome. How come is not that well known???
PROS: - For the time, the game had nice story and characters, despite not being an RPG - Beautiful cutscenes - Dramatic soundtrack - Stomping foes with an ogre CONS: - Repetitive graphics - Uninteresting backgrounds - Lack of vatriety when it comes to enemy sprites (they do look nice, though) - Controls are just above average. Had it been a little more polished, It would be a great game on its genre. There was a lot of potential here.
Not at all. It's an early mega drive title. There's no way the NES or Master System could pull off the amount of parallax scrolling that is in this game. It also has nearly zero sprite flicker.

It was made by some Rastan staff.

Oh and that first stage where you are riding an oger... First time I've seen a game where jumping on an enemy and destroying them makes sense 😂
it looks painful to play

This game feels like it could fit in with the Golden Axe Series!
Dahna Axe
I like the way her sprite leans into sword swings, giving her much better attack range than many other games of that era.

Nah the dev is igs not telnet
One Awesome thing I noticed in this game. Is that Dahna doesn’t Flinch when she’s hit! So instead she’ll just take damage till she dies!

Never heard of this, but colour me intrigued! Tyrus Flare would get along great with Daphna!

If *Tyris Flare* had her own spinoff series! 🔥
19:19 This is but a scratch.

19:10 Well that's a case of "It's only a flesh wound" right there!
This game is awesome. Dahna is a cool main character, the gameplay, music and atmosphere are great.
if she is real I want to stay by her side and fought for her
Poor griffin. She was bashing it on the head the entire ride.
the metal clinking sound makes me want to fight
Never heard of this game, but it looks good.
I dont remember this 1 but its kind of remind me of golden axe

2:42 This the same Boss from Golden Axe?
Lol stolen assets, did know this happened in gaming yet. Looks decent though.
the graphics look like 8 bit yikes
