Chupi Pakhiralaya Purbasthali a different perspective

Chupi pakhiralaya or Purabasthali pakhiralaya or Kasthashali pakhiralaya or simply Chupir chor is known to everybody now. Be it birdwatchers or passionate weekend traveler , everybody longs to go Chupi Pakhiralaya at least once in the winter months every year. Nestled in the close proximity of rive Ganges in the East Burdwan district of West Bengal , Purbasthali also has a very rich heritage of culture and education. Many famous personalities, Bengal can take pride on are from Purbasthali. Though it’s present fame is due to the presence of migratory birds in Chariganga ( the ox bow lake ) which is now formally named as Chupi Pakhiralaya or Purbasthali Pakhiralaya.
However in recent years Chupi Pakhiralaya is facing some serious problems which causing the rapid fall in the bird count and Purbasthali Pakhiralaya is at the verge of loosing it’s unique biodiversity. Picnic , plastic , water hyacinth , indiscriminate fishing, pollution , rowdy tourists and indiscipline among them, poaching - the list of the threat is too long.
In this video , we’ve tried to portray some aspects of Chupi Pakhiralaya or Purbasthali Pakhiralaya in brief with a different perspective.
