- This is a Macintosh LC 475 given to me by my old LA teacher. It used to belong to the school system, and it's easy to see in the video.
If you know anything about what is wrong with the floppy drive (or what I'm doing wrong), please let me know.
Hooray for Pizza Box Macs! I've been wanting to grab one for quite a while now. Grabbing an Ethernet card for that LC PDS would be awesome, I've done that with my LC575. Super cheap on eBay, probably even less from the guys over at the 68kMLA forums (where I go for all my classic Mac/Apple needs).
Have you tried formatting on the LC475? Using DS/DD disks @800KB, that is. You'll probably run into issues using 1.44MB disks, and floppies going between PCs and old Macs pretty much doesn't work...

People who started out with these early Macs love them and still do and don't complain about them. They were great for the time. I still have my LCII and LC475 and still use them. I actually like the simple word processors in these old Macs better than the new ones of today.
Both floppy drives on my LC and LC II are so bad they're pretty much nonfunctional. I haven't got around to fixing/replacing them but I don't mess with floppies often. I use filesharing through appletalk from my PowerMac G3 (or sometimes my SE) to move games to and from those machines.
If you want to access a disk formatted on your Mac in Windows, I've heard HFV Explorer will read/write to them.

@phreakindee Yeah, I might try ebay. Maybe even repc would have one.
I tried formatting some disks, but it automatically made me format to 1.44 MB. It didn't give me the choice like the SE did.
How did Apple Guide work on System 7.1?
i have 2 of these and when i try to connect them to a monitor it don't work with with adapter to VGA can you tell me the monitor you are using so i can try get one, Thanks any reply will be thankful......

i use a IBM ThinkVision with vga apapter - works :-)
