Helluva Boss is an American adult animated musical web series created by Vivienne "VivziePop" Medrano. It revolves around the misadventures of the employees of I.M.P., a company in Hell that offers hitman services in the realm of the living. The pilot was released on November 25, 2019,[1] while the first episode of the first season was released on October 31, 2020.[2] Set in the same fictional universe as Hazbin Hotel,[3] the show is produced by SpindleHorse Toons. The first season was released exclusively on Medrano's TH-cam channel,[4][5] as she has done for other animations.[6][7] The second season premiered on July 30, 2022.[8] On March 27, 2023, the show was confirmed to be renewed for a third season, in active production.[9] On April 26, 2024, a spin-off short series of Helluva Boss titled Helluva Shorts was announced at LVLUP Expo, with the first short being released on the same day.
Blitzo Buckzo[1] (pronounced Blitz) is the founder and manager of I.M.P and is the main protagonist of Helluva Boss.
He is the adoptive father of Loona and a former co-worker and best friend of Fizzarolli during their days as kids in the former's father's circus.
Blitzo is a bombastic, big-talking, and sardonic imp. He is high energy and career-focused, having recently started his own company, something that's noted to be rare for an imp to achieve.
He is very invested in the company's success and willing to make many personal sacrifices to achieve it. However, despite his enthusiasm to break out of the lowly social position his species is assigned in Hell. He is also, in many ways, wildly unprofessional and scattershot in his methods.
Despite his status as his company's sole director, he can frequently behave in ways that are immature, self-absorbed, and even disrespectful towards his employees, affecting their level of respect for him.
He is also willing to be manipulative in some questionable ways, sleeping with the married Stolas, initially in order to "borrow" his grimoire, the key element allowing him and his employees to fulfil contracts to assassinate people on Earth.
