I couldn't hear her clearly under the voiceover, but she actually talked about depression and suicidal thoughts which the translation omitted. Too dark for BBC I suppose.
Now this is a real story 👌
yes
It's good to know this. Yes apparently voiceover tends to cover what the person really intends to say.
I know this story, didn't know it had such a big impact negatively especially on her.
We mostly know it's not real photos tbh but those thinking it was - are stupid.

I just now saw this video from 7 years ago. I saw this story back then and didn't even question is it was real. Seeing this now makes me sad and frustrated...I, like many others, have been manipulated and this woman's life was ruined as a result.

@@Kutakakooloo Unless you get blamed for something you didn't do that makes you lose your career such as false rape allegations, I don't take anyone seriously when they say they kill themselves. For what reason that is so bad that makes you kill yourself? I will never understand. Someone you don't know says bad words about you? So what, care more about people you care about says about you. I don't know you, and you don't know me, so why are you crying over words from a stranger? Weak mentality like yours is sad tbh.
@@sasinmo tbf your kinda just sad bro. You say some valid points but damn you just have no heart.
@@tauempire1793 Sometimes being harsh is the best approach, being all nice will just make them want validation over and over from that same person. At the end of the day, no one can make you happy, only you can make yourself happy, therefore sugar coating everything with nice words won't help them. Even then I realize I'm a jerk here, and I didn't need to add the last part but it is what it is.
@@ubuyashi735 I'm not talking about the video, there was someone in the comments said they had depression due to cyberbullying, but at the end of the day they lost nothing, they have a house, they have food, and they depressed because someone was mean to them. I don't sympathize with people like that, seems like they want attention for being bullied by saying they are depressed.
I can understand what she's going through, because something similar happened to me at work. Someone, a new employee at my workplace started spreading lies about me, that I wasn't helping her, nor explaining things to her & people started believing & repeating what she said as if it was true to the point I got reported to my employer. Other workers started acting distant with me as I was already reacting to those lies. I was the last one to know, because that person talked behind my back, never approached me directly to let me know she needed help in certain areas. My reputation got damaged, I felt insecure at my job, economically & emotionally. That person left, but ruined me unfairly & when I finally had the courage to raise my voice & call her out the day before she resigned, I was seen as the one who had temper issues. Sometimes we put the other cheek for too long & take so much we don't deserve, it's time to speak up. Crying isn't because you're weak or have a mental issue... Feeling is normal & reacting to things doesn't make you temperamental, you just need to defend yourself.
I hope you’re doing better now
According to psychology-videos, this woman that has done that to you is a narcissist, and a very dangerous one.
Yes, sounds like yet another Covert Narcissist and their infamous and usually believed Smear Campaign. On the plus side, you must be likeable, talented and successful to have been targeted by a competitive climber with a personality disorder. Hope you are doing well now.
its not narcisissm. women are very competitive and they will viciously attack other women who they perceive as threat. it's an animal instinct, just like in animal kingdom. but people don't even realize they're no different from animals. this is also the explanation of the mystery of "an ugly friend". women dont perceive them as threat ...
I don't know why but I can see myself in your place and even if it's little bit I can feel what you felt at those times and I can understand your emotions.... because I am an introvert similar things happen to me and I also do feel wronged but unfortunately many a times I don't have enough strength and courage to respond to all these things.... as a result sometimes I cry when I am alone.....
I really hope she is okay now. So sad to see a life go out of control because of something you can't control.
Imagine worshipping the people who truly did Plastic Surgery and bullying a woman with natural beauty at the same time, what a pathetic part of humanity.

There are two things people need to understand:-
1. Fake stories are not memes.
2. Memes should not be taken too seriously.
3. If you take up modeling and photo shoots, the internet can suck you in, spit you out and make the career go sideways.
Boomers call everything which comes popular on internet a "meme"
it is a meme. The original usage of a meme : Meme, unit of cultural information spread by imitation. The term meme (from the Greek mimema, meaning “imitated”) was introduced in 1976 by British evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins in his work The Selfish Gene.
the above could also refer to ideas. anything that spreads through replication.
It was a meme. What happened is literally the definition of a meme 🤦♂️
4. Not everything can be a meme.

Imagine being so beautiful that people start believing that you had plastic surgery. It’s so sad that it ended this way.
yeah... that’s the media alright, they start getting jealous and create fake rumors about you
@@listen..joshuahitera.4574 the media never invented the rumors it was people who saw the picture and decided to make it into a meme there are a lot of people in the public who do get plastic surgery but the media should never attack or scrutinize or even speculate on who has it at the same time it is also on the people who get it to be confident and open about what they have done to help erase the stigma surrounding it because ultimately while the procedures usually look good or even natural for the most part it’s still obvious to not just the trained eye but simply one that knows what signs to look for that work has been done and when the person simultaneously is denying it they are hurting themselves and every single person who makes that same choice
Obviously my comment has nothing to do with the poor woman in this story who is clearly visibly surgery free
@@MangaGamify I mean so pretty as in conventionally attractive. Why u gotta be so triggered tho... I never passed it off as jealousy or hate. Many years ago, I remember that internet story about the woman in Asia who had cosmetic surgery but didn't tell her husband, and the children didn't look like her. I thought it was a true story, only now I see I was wrong. The moral of the story is: Don't believe everything you read on the internet.
She talked about suicide and y’all think it wasn’t important enough to translate that?
Edit: I just saw these comments after three years. I said what I said and I will stand by it. I don’t want to hear nothing about i need to have a wider mindset because this could be a trigger topic for the youth and I totally get that, but you can’t tell me that when our literal youth can see killings, robbing, beatings, nudity and etc on X / Twitter without an issue at all. I just saw about 3 different videos of people getting gunned down, execution style but they can’t translate something about suicide. I’m now 23 years old and lost 3 different friends to suicide from 18 till now. I think translating the truth about what she said, is more important than trying to hide the darkness that’s happens.
This type of program translate however they want. They think that we are stupid and will not notice. But I think they are so stupid that they don’t know how to translate languages. They disrespect other languages and cultures.

This is a meme. The Internet is not full of sunshine and rainbows like you think. It's a lot darker
@@jamesbondage9935 yeah, memers are now over doing it
People are calling this a meme but it’s not even a meme wtf. Memes aren’t made up stories and fabricated lies about something. When has that ever been a meme. The media really hates internet culture and it’s a disgrace to label this a meme. They should track down the first instance of this story and sue for sure.
That's why i was confused too, this is not a meme
Its not a meme here...but still is a meme.
It was an ancient meme. Idk if ur new or what but that's what they'd call a meme before🤷🏼
@@rojasjeremy6141 a meme before what? you draw 2 squares at the end of your sentence
@@ayylmao7999 ah its an emoji got censored ig
What a confusing story.
there is a period of time this meme was very popular on vietnam social media and many status made a story up about this so the terrible problems were many vietnamese people trusted that story without doubt and criticised her by impolite words and i almost believed but today i watch this video and i really amazed. So sad for her and i hope she could overcome the difficulties
This was made 5 years ago, I really hope this woman is okay now
@Human Rights yeah
@Human Rights that's your breakfast, lunch and dinner for today
😆
@Human Rights True bro, please spread this on all of TH-cam
She just had a plastic surgery and started a new life. Now, nobody can recognize her and ruin her life again!
A meme should make you a god not a victim
Max Bui Aren't memes mostly pics, drawings, or etc that have been turned into a web wide laughing pic? What if you were turned into a meme huh? How would you feel of all the people around that world that have seen you as a meme and will never classify you as just a regular person because your not a meme.
You should be PROUD that you are a meme. If you're suddenly sooo depressed by being a meme then just shut off the laptop.
My dream is to become a meme why is she complaining lol
She feels bad because it has had an effect on her life. Some memes are not harmful, they are just funny and they may make some random people famous. But there are memes that have ruined people's lives because of the way they portray the person in the picture - everybody will laugh at you, nobody will take you seriously.
The problem with memes is that they are many times about spreading someone's pictures without their permission, and they are about laughing at someone's expense. Sure, many memes are funny and some people don't have a problem with becoming a meme. But sometimes it can ruin people's lives. And this is something people need to remember when they start sharing other people's pictures with funny text added to them. The internet has lots of power, and it's definitely not funny to be laughed at all over the world.
ragingscooter she had her career as a model ruined unknowingly. If someone turned you into a laughing stock behind your back bad enough that employers won't take you, it'd be bad
She’s so pretty even without any makeup in this interview.
It’s not a meme, it’s an excuse to cyber bully
She looks so good that people thought she had plastic surgery. Imagine the amount of dedication that takes, she's amazing.
Actually no. According to the rumours spread, her husband sued her because their children came out ugly. She supposedly had had plastic surgery but kept it a secret. A lie, obviously.
@@-shikajin-4078 funnyyyy
She definitely had plastic surgery tho. Monolids are recessive genes so if hers were natural her kids wouldn’t have such painstakingly obvious monolids.
Most Asians I know with natural double lids almost always have a parent with them

It was a big meme back then and millions of people believe it
I remember this 😂 memes are weapons of mass destruction
This has me so full of rage yet heartbroken.
Those aren’t memes. They’re literally rumors to ruin someone’s life.
Trover19 I thought that, how is a fake article a meme
Here's a groundbreaking concept: It's both.
There is a meme about this. Its not just story. Someone made the false story as a joke
I doubt it's malicious. Just seems like a funny story that got out of hand, since you can't really control which stories go viral. You may know the audience you write the story to, and know they'll laugh it off as a joke, but the next guy might take it seriously instead.
Regardless, she became the face of the 'villain' in the story and that certainly affects her future as a model.
A meme is funny. Those are just something someone made trying to be funny. Its kinda weak. I could care less that career is ruined. How ever for the sake of memes, im cheezzed
The internet can be harsh
Hannah Hansom fuck you and that guy above me. And that guy below
Hannah Hansom *sometimes it gave u much burned memes*
Nahh it's ok. People would abuse anything as long as they're enjoying it. Besides, there's no rule in the internet that allow people to get mad if they feel being offended.
Not in this case. Seems fair enough
Master Of Bait fuck you even more
