      We had HPI, Vattera, Redcat and Axial stock tires and they were not at this level. The size and rubber compound of this tire is ideal for grip and longevity. And they look realistic.
      These two mods and the 4 mods in the next video will take them to a whole new world.

    • @TerraQuestRC
      @TerraQuestRC 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@blackbirdrc8348 the Gen8 I am sure has hurt some Traxxas sales, many just looking for a lower budget rig to start as a base. That Scout body is probably the main selling point, probably why I have enjoyed running it so much. Performance and durability I say is still in TRX-4 favor though.

    • @blackbirdrc8348
      @blackbirdrc8348 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TerraQuestRC Oh definitely not saying the Gen8 is a bad truck at all, It's on my want list for sure lol they did such a great job with that rig especially for being their very first self-designed truck gotta give credit where it's due. It really makes axial look a little silly these days with the prices they ask for some rigs that are entirely plastic, Links, Gears. Their offerings are totally being out-shined by other less expensive rigs that give you a lot more quality out of the box. I'm REALLY excited to see the next generation of the redcat "Gen" series. The Gen9 "if they call it that" is going to be awesome especially with redcat taking feedback from the community about the Gen8 and learning from some design flaws ... If you even want to call it that. Hobby has never been better!

    Use a pair of nail clippers scissors and call it a day. Be patient it's well worth it, one thing he didn't mention in the video is that not only will it scoop but your taking away from the structure of the tire making it much softer allowing it grab any surface much better.

    Shop around long enough on ebay you can find a good set of alloy/ metal/ weighted beadlocks starting around 25 bucks shipped. Set of 4. My latest set i just bought was a 50 dollar set. Only cause i was after a military styled wheel. Before that most i spent was 30 bucks on a nice set. 👍 bought steelie styled set for that 25 and change and they're just over 4 0z a pop.
