    but if we take shear at point E, the section to the right 15 KN will be positive being downward and the sections to left the downward forces will be negative and upward will be positive, so when we calculate for point E with respect to this method then our shear force becomes 30........ Shouldn't our shear force would be 0 at point E, if yes then why it becomes 30 at point E ???????

    Could you describe the shear forces as 'between points' instead of 'at point'?
    For example;
    - Between points C-A SF= -10kN
    - Between points A-D SF= 6.71kN

    • @viprajkumar8011
      @viprajkumar8011 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Summation fy should equal to zero at any point of structural member as we should design the stable structures ...if summation fy should not be equal to zero .....then the stability of structural may lost

    At 3:08 while solving moment of force at point A, why is clockwise direction given positive and anticlockwise direction given negative??? Usually for a moment of force we take clockwise direction as negative and anticlockwise as positive!

    Shear force is defined as a force which acts parallel to surface. Then why is it always represented perpendicular to beam in SFD?

    • @Ekeeda
      @Ekeeda  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because beam is a horizontal member subjected to vertical loading and shearing of the beam is in vertical plane.

      SFD is also called as traverse force diagram...it represents force perpendicular to axis of beam
