  • Instead of green tea, Sakura-cha is traditionally enjoyed on special occasions, such as ceremonies of engagement and wedding, birth celebration, graduation celebration…as Sakura symbolizes new beginning and new blooming future in Japanese culture.

    We were gifted Sakura-cha at a japanese wedding and did not know how to prepare it. I am glad we can prepare it properly now. The tea is very deliciouse and the flowers are also incredibly pretty. Your video was very helpful, thank you so much.

    Just tried this tea. Found at an Asian Supermarket in my town. The flavor is a bit salty yet floral. Not much of a fragrance but still very beautiful to look at. The symbolism behind this tea brings “new beginnings” -it is something beautiful in itself. 🌸

      Thank you for sharing, normally after (cherry blossom) being salted, we could enjoy its scent of Coumarin, I personally like this fragrance a lot. Yes --New beginnings--is always so good.

      Put 1 or 2 flowers into warm water to remove the salt and steep for 5 minutes, then move it to teacup, pour in hot water this time and steep for 2 minutes, now it is ready for you.

    I’ve never had anything Sakura flavored, It sounds pretty good! What does it taste like? 🌸

    • @YouYou_Moment
      @YouYou_Moment  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's mildly salty with Sakura flowery scent and taste, and a hint of plum/lemon undertones. As normally when we pickle sakura, we will add plum vinegar. This time I use the lemon juice.

      Hello, I searched in Yahoo Japan, I couldn't find the exact info.
      Below are info for your reference.
      Cherry Blossom Tea is not listed in "Tea/Herbal Tea/Flower Tea prohibited for Pregnant Women/Breastfeeding",
      but neither listed in "Recommended Tea for Pregnant Women/Breastfeeding".
