Hey Just a heads up! After watching various reviews, I felt like there weren’t a lot of reviews/demos coming from folks who are actually big MBV/Slowdive/Shoegaze fans. So, I intentionally kept it simple and tried to cater to what I felt was the audience this pedal was intended for. I am well aware I didn't do a deep dive, but there are other reviews that show how capable this pedal really can be and I implore you to watch those videos and support those channels. Thank you. :)
Love it! And I love that you're a fellow Slowdive fan - didn't think there were that many of us but I have faith now what with you and Josh Scott! Keep em coming :)
You nailed the pedal dude, I love the pedal , I'm so glad that brought one and I pared with my Loomer or a digital delay unit on my zoom 70cdr, it's the perfect shoegaze pedal :)
Really cool sounds! I remember getting Loveless donated to the Goodwill when I used to work it and I stole it because I liked the cover. There were a couple songs in there that I really like. This channel on TH-cam called, "Eversame" did a pretty rad acoustic cover in the woods of one of my favorites from that album. The blues riff reminded me of a Mudhoney song, but I'm not sure which one yet. I'll have to remember this one. Great review!
You nailed the worship riff lol. Thanks for the review, this thing is sweet. It would have been cool to see you explore the controls a little bit while you were playing!
No problem! I tried to keep it super simple and not get too crazy messing around with different settings. but there's going to be a comparison video of sorts, so maybe I'll get around to messing around with it in that.
@@JasonTMays Awesome, looking forward to it! And yeah, I definitely appreciate the simple approach and the fact that you all play guitar in a way I can relate to.
@@ZakuKun Thank you!!!! that means a lot! I'm by no means a shredder or anything. And I dont think most people are. So, I'm just glad folks can relate.
I haven't been this excited for a pedal in a while -- "Slowdive in a box" might be the best idea I've seen since the Loomer. (Now I just need a boutique/semi-boutique combo of a BF-3 and an Eventide SP2016 for some Cocteau Twins in a box. 😀)
Jason, you need to find a Greek restaurant and order yourself some “soove-lock-ee.” Oh, and as much as I love your pedalboard, I don’t qualify to work for NASA LOL!
Love that sound. Slightly cheeky question - what jazzmaster would you recommend for up to USd1.5k. I’ve not owned one before. Not a lot of used jazzmasters in the country I live in (so no I mascis potential)but buying new isn’t a problem. The Troy van leeuwen edition is one of the ones I’m considering but I’d love be to know what you guys think.
In that price point, In the used market you can find a lot cool options. The one I love the most is the TVL Jazzmaster, because you have either a maple or rosewood fingerboard. And It’s one of the few JMs that needs the least amount of mods out of the box. I think that’s a really good starting point for getting into a Jazzmaster. If you want to go Squier, I’d recommend the 40th anniversary VINTAGE edition. We’ve got a video on that coming up and I think it’s worth the money. Otherwise, a Vintera is not a bad option.
@@JasonTMays thanks Jason. Yeah - I’m in Malaysia. No real used market for jazzmasters. And shipping from overseas can create more damage than it’s worth. I will pick up a used j Mascis next time I’m in UK tho. I thought the TVL looked well set up. Big issue for me is that they don’t keep them on the shop floor here, and it’s a lot to pay sight unseen. The squiers I can at least try, there’s usually one or two on the floor. That’s the problem when there’s only one official fender supplier in the country, and their main warehouse is in another country. No real way to shop around.
@@Kulturmatt Man, that's sucks to hear. Well, definitely get a J Mascis! That's been a lot of folks intro into the offset/jazzmaster world for the last 10 years and with good reason. I'm sure you'll like it and I'm just happy more people are playing my favorite kind of guitar no matter which model you go with.
Soov-lah-ki. "Souvlaki, is a popular Greek fast food consisting of small pieces of meat and sometimes vegetables grilled on a skewer." Thanks for the review.
@@JasonTMays Thanks! I just ordered it from America (I’m in the UK) along with another of their pedals and it was all quite pricey (for me at least!) But I was hit with nearly a quarter extra just for the customs charge so I’m expecting great things from Catalinabread 🤞😉👍

I'm not really familiar with shoegaze at all but man this pedal sounds good
This pedal sounds like Slowdive and he is playing Slowdive on it, so if you like it, you should listen to their music

Cocteau Twins in a box should be Catalinbreads next go around!
Excellent review. Subscribed!
This did not help my GAS for this pedal. Which means.....you did your job with this review, lol.
🙏🏾 My job here is done!
Great review and love the Holy Fawn shirt!

The fact that they named that album after a Jerky Boys skit is the best. oh... and great review/demo my guy!
just an fyi, the thumbnail has focused misspelled. i say keep it. i thought it was a different new pedal. lol
Lmao!!!!!! Oh, man! That’s hilarious!
Wokring Calss Msuic
Any one know how this compares to the sounds In The Realizer/Loomer?
I thought you might like this one, Jason! Great demo.
Thank you!!!! 😬🙏🏾
Repping Holy Fawn! Ya love to see it!

Thats probably why I dont know how to say it...because I'm not a fan of greek food. lol.

Sooo…what you’re saying is you’ll be ripping off Slowdive even more during band practice? 😂

Really demystifies the title 😂
Was that first riff sonic youth?
Just ordered this amazing pedal! Never used an affiliate link before but I hope it went through correctly for ya

@@JasonTMays thank you for the detailed in depth review! I was sold!!
@@baptizedinblood86 Not a problem! I love doing this and thank you!!! :)
You should do lessons on playing like Slowdive too Jason
I would be down for that!
What guitar you playing it sound good real good
So would you have the delay in front of OR after this pedal?
in front. for me reverb is always at the end.
